Your Comcast accounts are POP (unless you enrolled in the Comcat Beta test of Imap) so they won't sync at all. Either enroll in the Beta test or don't use Comcast.
Your iCloud account is Imap and should sync just fine, unless you have set it up incorrectly.

One of the 3Gs after it spent about 30 minutes in back up mode suddenly said it was unable to back up then i received a plug in to itunes message on it and the message I am receiving is to restore it to factory settings. So i basically lost all my information. I do not want to repeat this fiasco on my husbands phone which contains his business contacts etc. Please help!

Use your backup copy of your computer.

I've had the same problem, synced yesterday and I've lost all my events in my calendar. Restored my phone,not worked, deleted icloud that hasnot worked,nothing is coming up at all on icloud calendar, and my mac was backed up when I plugged in today so not backed up on that. Whenever I want to delete messages in the inbox on my iphone 4, using v4.2.8, I have to manually check each one and then delete them the checked ones as a group. Is there a way to select all and delete them at one time? I love the phone and it is a little complaint, but I often get 50-60 work related messages which I scan then delete because the originals are on my work computer. Thanks.

You have a point, but you're just helping exposing the misery a little more: I actually DO delete the emails in WebMail, very easily. The problem is the sorry state of the Apple email client, that does not replicate those actions on the device, so I have to delete the messages TWICE--once on my computer, with a couple of clicks, and then on my iPhone, with a couple (hundreds) finger gestures.
As to your point that the iPhone is not a standalone device: that's nonsense. The iPhone does a lot of things that users thought IMPOSSIBLE just 10 years ago. Then what to say about Siri, a complex-beyond-our-imagination system that incorporates voice recognition, AI, searching and other hard-to-grasp technologies, all at our fingertips?

Why is there no way to delete all emails from my iphone? IOS 7.1. Every other phone in the market allows you to 'select all' then delete.
This trick of selecting one, then holding move, then unchecking (and subsequently moving all the emails to trash) doesn't work. I've read these suggestions and while it appears to work the emails just show up again once you leave and return to the inbox. Perhaps it worked on an older version of IOS.
It blows my mind this is not a standard function. I get a few hundred emails at work every day, and most of the time I just want to delete all of them from the phone as I've read them already. Currently it seems i can only click edit and then have to check each email individually to be able to delete them at the same time; this is the definition of tedious. I would think there are millions of other iphone users who get their company email on their phones that must experience the same thing. It seems now i either spend 20 minutes a day deleting emails, or just let thousands of emails accumulate on the phone (taking up space and also making it hard to just review the most recent emails which is all I want to be able to do when checking email on my phone).
I am hoping I am just missing some simple solution here that everyone else uses. Please help!!

Only Apple could answer as to why there is no "select all/"delete all" function in the iOS mail app. Users have been bemoaning this lack of functionality for years now. Like everyone else, you can submit feedback to. Apple here.

While I understand the whole idea of being able to use the phone on the run, if you have an IMAP email account, and if you have access to a computer at work during the day, use your "select all" function on the server and delete all of the unwanted email there and it will be removed from the phone as well.
That doesn't solve the problem on the phone, but it gets rid of the email which is your ultimate goal anyway.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, try this a few times if necessary. If still problem, you may have to just Restore your iPhone to get it working. In the future sync your iPhone with iTunes routinely and when it contains important data, iCloud when set correctly will do this for you continuously.

I solved my problem,
Definitely a bug in syncing through itunes.
- Connect Iphone with MacBook Pro through USB
- Go to iphone on itunes, photos, deselect photo synchronization.
- Sync (all pics will be removed from iphone)
- Close itunes, iphoto, disconnect iphone
- Select in finder: (home)-pictures-iphoto library.
- Sec click on iphoto library and choose "show package contents"
- Delete iPod Photo Cache
- Close finder
- Empty trash
- Reconnect iphone
- Allow photo synchronization again and everything works smooth.
After this, changes made in iphoto are instantaneously reflected in iphone photos.
Once every hundred photos, one gets detached from iphoto and then changes are no longer reflected (buggy) :-(
In this case I erase the photo in iphoto, sync, go back to iphoto trash, reestablish the photo from the trash and sync again.
Hope this improves. Still have to try cloud though.

Thanks for the feedback, the question is that it will syn all the folders that I have checked, and its total up to 6000 photos which was taking me one whole day to syn. I am seeking is there away that what have already in my Iphone will not be delected if I did not checked on the next syn, and only add in the new album that was checked.

Just back it up to your computer using iTunes By connecting it to your compute, launching iTunes, then going to File>Devices>Back Up (transfer purchases of prompted). Then restore the iTunes backup to your new phone.

What type of account did you set-up on the iPad, POP, IMAP, the items on your iPad could have downloaded off the server or you will need wait awhile for the message to update to the iPad.

It sounds like you are trying to change the Apple ID logged into the iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone. Use these steps:
Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.

I am trying to download my contacts from my iTunes to my new iPhone. I never did a back up on my old one. So I tried simply downloading whats on my itunes contacts list and that didn't work either.

iTunes does not have a contacts list and only stores contacts in a back up file. You need to check if there is a back up that was made when the contacts were on the phone. If you do locate one then you would need to restore from that back up to get the contacts back on the phone.
