My iPhone keeps resuming playback after certain tasks even if nothing was playing

When doing certain things on my iPhone like using Siri or watching a video if I'm listening to music then the music pauses while the thing is happening and then it resumes once the thing has finished.
However recently (since iOS 6) when I use Siri but I'm not listening to anything it still resumes what I was last listening to.
The biggest issue lately was this morning when my alarm went off I turned it off quickly to avoid waking up my girlfriend, but then my music started blaring out and woke her up (she was not amused).
Has anybody else experienced this?

Do you have a strong connection near your room? I find it troublesome if you trying to connect to a wifi which only one bar the chances of connecting to it is hard. You either get connected or really slow internet. Attempt to get closer and try connect and then go to your room.
You might see a bar drops when you close your room door too

  • Using DVD Player, the show goes back to menu after every chapter, even though I selected "Play Entire Episode".

It only does this on Reading Rainbow DVDs so far: Using DVD Player, the show goes back to menu after every chapter, even though I selected "Play Entire Episode".  It does this whether the laptop is plugged in or is using battery power.  How do I get it to play all??  Thanks.

Turns out it was NOT the software or the Mac. I bought a portable DVD player and this problem happens with it, too.

  • Will my iPhone keep its firmware after a factory reset?

After choosing the 'Erase All Content and Settings' option, letting the iPhone do its 2 hour erase, and setting up the iPhone again, will it keep the same firmware it had before the factory reset?

Restoring an iPhone with iTunes completely erases the iPhone first - firmware and all, followed by the current firmware version being re-installed. After the firmware is re-installed, you are prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. This must be followed by a sync with iTunes to re-transfer your selected iTunes content to your iPhone and the same for any photos on your computer that you have selected to be transferred to your iPhone.
Selecting erase all content and settings from your iPhone erases all content and settings only, which is a secure erase. This does not erase the firmware from the iPhone.
What exactly are you wanting to accomplish?

  • Why does iTunes on my iPhone keep rewinding songs after pausing?

If I pause iTunes on my iPhone by either removing my headphone jack or pressing pause, if I then restart after about an hour later, the music jumps backwards several songs that have just been played. The longer I leave it, the more songs it rewinds. I find this very frustrating !!

Make sure you're selecting the iPod in the left-hand column, and then clicking the Settings column. It should be the second line under "Options" .. I believe it reads "Only Update Checked Songs."

    Hi Azwrona,
Another user with this issue indicated that they were able to fix it by first accessing the Store within the Music app rather than via the iTunes app. Once they accessed it that way, they were able to get to the Store via the iTunes app....
Thought that would be worth a shot before doing resets and sing offs. If that does not work, post back and we will do the resets and sign offs....
    Cheers,

  • My iPhone keeps saying an incompatible device is connected, when nothing is

Just had my iPhone for a short time and it keeps saying I have third party hardware incomparable with iPhone connected, I've already checked for any debris in the sync cable connection but the message keeps popping up at random times. Any ideas?

Mine does this as well... started doing it about a month ago. It'll do it sometimes after I wake the screen up, but then it goes away instantly on its own. There's only been maybe once or twice I had to actually click the option manually to clear it. I recently had to restore my phone because it wouldn't boot back up, and it still does it. I'm not about to restore my phone as new because I want to keep all my txt messages and app settings, so hopefully this is something that can be fixed with a future software update. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • IPhone keeps saying "Please Connect to ITunes" and does nothing else

I have it connected to the computer with ITunes running and it will not do anything. I have tried updating ITunes, restarting my computer, etc., and nothing works. I cannot get it to sync either. This is my work computer. My main ITunes computer is at home and I can't access it right now.
What can I do to where I can use my phone???? Please help.
    Thanks.
    E

If nothing is working, and you've made sure you have the latest version of iTunes. I'd take the phone into your nearest Apple Store. If you don't want to go there yet, call 1-800-MY-IPHONE. They may have tricks to help you.

  • Won't wake at first. Then wakes after restart attempts as if nothing was wrong!

Hi guys. This has happened twice now so I know I'd better find out what's going on because something's wrong and I'm being given a warning.
I closed the computer lid. I came back hours later; opened it up and it wouldn't wake up. I shut it down by holding down the power button, then started it back up. The system won't restart but the fan comes on. Then I do this several times. I try the P-ram restart method also. Eventually, it wakes from sleep just as if none of those restart attempts had been made! That is, there was my Safari layout just the way I'd left it and everything was operational!
What is going on. What needs to be fixed? Thanks.

It's possible the system is entering deeper hibernation (depends on what year model it is).  But if that's the case, wait longer...  Open the lid and just give it a minute or so.  See if the screen eventually displays properly.

  • Issue: JDeveloper ask to restart after an update even if there was none

    Hi JDev team,
When you check for update but install none (or none is available), JDeveloper tells you that some files were updated and that you should restart JDeveloper. It's really not a big issue, but I think the code could use a little 'if'. :)

I had an entire project with summaries, 2 character bios and a 13 page screenplay that I have been working for weeks now and Adobe Story crashed last week and when I opened THAT project was gone, while others weren't. I am a Creative Cloud member and really need help with this. Thank you!

Can you send your Adobe ID (email that you use to sign in to Story) to agupta at adobe dot com ?
We'll try to figure out what happened, and find your work.

  • Using MuVo or Nano Plus in car - Resume Playback funct

I need to use an MP3 player in my car.
I want an USB connector as ON/OFF switch.
If I start my car on, the player will resume playback from the last position of the track.
I have tried Creative Zen Nano 52Mb (not plus) and it will resume playback if I turn USB power on (car on), but.... it will remember the song when I turned it off with the normal OFF funtrion, but not the USB power OFF.
Any other players can do resume playback after USB power ON?

When the player powers up on connection to your car USB lead then it is as a removeable dri've NOT as a player which is why it doesn't resume where it was switched off - that is a function of the player.

hi guys...im iphone new user...problem is now my iphone keep turnned off after i done restore & updated...then my iphone was jammed when i reloading my profile from itune...now totally cant sync my phone to itune...anyone can help?

I had the same problem yesterday and found an interesting topic on the net. Remove the SIM card from your iPhone, restore it and insert the SIM card when required.
This definitey solved my problem and prevent my iphone to reboot each 30s ... Problem was the restore time from the Cloud!

  • Iphone keeps dipslaying no service after i updated it to ios5

iphone keeps dipslaying no service after i updated it to ios5

I may have found a solution! First, if you are having these problems, check the build of your iOS version. Go to Settings>General>About>Version. This should read 5.0.1 (9A405).
Upon closer inspection of search engines, I came accross a website titled "What is the difference between iOS 5.0.1 build 9A405 and 9A406?". As it transpires, there's a great deal of difference, for us 4S users anyway.
Here's the website (I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting a link. Please let me know if I am!):
    http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/971716
    The difference between these builds seems to be a fix for a problem in the iPhone 4S not recognising SIM cards. Apple's own knowledge base article states the following;
"In certain situations, iPhone 4S may have difficulty recognizing a micro-SIM card, resulting in the following behaviors:
"Invalid SIM" or "No SIM Card installed" alert appears intermittently.
Status bar displays "No Service" or "Searching" in a location with good network coverage."
Apparently, because this is a small fix for a small number of users, the fix has not been released as iOS 5.0.2. Therefore, people who updated to 5.0.1 early, such as myself, can't simply update by checking on iTunes or Software Update. In order to receive this newer build we have to restore the phone to factory settings, confirm the build has been updated to 9A406, then restore from a backup.
I haven't attempted this yet as it may take some time, and I don't have enough until later in the week, but it anyone else tries this beforehand and finds it works, please let us know!
