I have CD's on my phone that i no longer have the physical copies of so i can't just re-download them all, plus it would take forever! I just want to know if there is a way to get all of what is still on my phone, back over to my iMac with it's new drive and restore my full iTunes library to the iMac with playlists, CD downloaded music, and my iTunes bought stuff, so i can go back to synching the 2 devices without losing everything that's on my phone that used to be on both devices?

Yeah everything is gone for good. The apps won't be a problem. You can just redownload them. For the music find a program that copies the music from the iphone to the computer. Then add the files to itunes ans sync.

I'm having a similar problem. I had previously (over a year ago) purchased 2 episodes of Law & Order. Then about 2 months ago, I purchased the 3rd season of Sons of Anarchy. When I downloaded these episodes to my iPad, about a dozen full seasons of various shows popped up, too. Have you checked to see if the media files are still on the computer? See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

My iPhone4 can't sync to Itunes after I have updated the iPhone to ISO5.0. now my iPhone can't play music. whenever i go to play my music on my iPhone it just reverts back to the playlist. hopeless! ISO5.0 is as bad as Microsoft stuffs.

I have recently updated the iTunes in order to update both my iPhone and iPad to ISO5.0. unfortunately, after the updated, my iPhone is no longer playing any music. whenever i go to play music on my iPhone it just reverts back to the playlist or it keeps running through song to song. But still, no music is on.
I tried to re-sync the music library, error mesage prop up,
"The iPhone 'xfdsarw' could not be synced because the sync session failed to start"
I delete the iTunes and download it again. Then, I restore my iPhone to the version before ISO 5.0. After, I do the updated again. However, the problem still exists. What should I do? Please advise. I cant believe that iPhone cannot play iTunes!!!!

i did what you have suggested to unsync the music and then re-sync again. should i try to cancel all the music in the library and then restore them again. can it work? i dont want to bet coz reloading so much music is very trouble.

I have just updated to iTunes 11. Now ALL my downloaded music has gone, and only plays when I'm connected to the internet.

NOT HAPPY. I've Just upgraded to iTunes 11 on a MBP 15" 2009 model, OS 10.8.2 I use my computer all over the place with NO internet and cannot access the HUNDREDS of tracks I've purchased and downloaded and been playing for years. How can I access them WITHOUT having to download the all again, using up my internet for HOURS and gobbling up my BANDWIDTH again! Also, I am NOT INTERESTED in streaming my music, as most places I use my computer, I have very limited, or no internet. Not Happy!!!

Is the music actualy gone from your hard drive ?
If it is still there then under Preferences, Advanced Preferences is the iTunes Media folder location pointed in the right place? If not click on Change and repoint it to your files.
To Stop seeing all the icloud streaming versions again in Preferences, Store and uncheck the Show iTunes in the cloud purchases.

Just try resyncing it from your iTunes library.
If it was not in your iTunes library when you did the update it is gone.

I have it set on manually manage music and videos. So there is no automatic syncing going on or anything like that. Yes iTunes was open and when i plugged in my phone i could see all the music and everything on my phone, everything was working like it was supposed to, I didn't have a problem until I unplugged the phone.

Plug it into iTunes, Control-click on the iPod in the left frame and select "Restore from backup." Should put it back like new.
