My iphone no longer shows up in "devices" on itunes...

...when I plug it in, so I cannot sync it.  What to do?

You enter the ID in Settings>iTunes & App Stores, then either turn on iTunes Match, download a previously purchased item from the iTunes or App store apps, or turn on Automatic Downloads.  However, once a device is associated with an ID in this way it cannot be associated with a different ID until 90 days has passed.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627.

  • HT204406 Since going over to icloud, my iphone no longer shows as a device in itunes and I can no longer sync the phone with the macbook

Since changing to icloud, my iphone is no longer recognised in itunes and does not show as a device nor can I sync it to my Macbook.
    Any suggestions please

Nothing has changed that would affect the way the iPad is recognized in iTunes. Here is the link to Apple's support article on this issue.

You probably have done all of these steps except for....
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier only: Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service.

  • HT1386 iphone and ipad no longer show up as devices in itunes

my ipad and my i phone no longer show up as devices in I tunes. I have so far shut down and restarted the PC, ipad, iphone, uninstalled and reinstalled the itunes program, done the ''reset all" in settings on my ipad, changed USB ports. Any suggestions?

On your computer, try going into your control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTUnes, apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and see if it works.

  • Nano no longer shows up as device in itunes

My nano no longer shows up as a device in Itunes.  Connection is good as it still charges, but nothing when I plug it in.  Does not show up as device in windows either.

Until you fix it, make future purchases in itunes direct.
Are you using a different computer? Mac or Windows?
    Which iTunes version?
Any security software potentially blocking access to AppleTV from iTunes.
AppleTV1 as you know has 2 modes - streaming and syncing.  It has to be configured as a sync library for purchases to transfer to itunes and for you to sync to it.  Synced content appears under My Movies etc.  Streaming only content appears under My Shared Movies etc if a sharing libarry is configured.
You cannot copy purchases back to a shared itunes library only the sync library.  Both sync and share connected AppleTVs however should appear under Devices in itunes.  Can you send a song to AppleTV from itunes using Airplay?  The fact that you can buy on AppleTV means it's connected to the internet - it does not mean that it is connected with iTunes on your LAN - the 2 things are separate.
If you no longer have a sync library you would need to change exisitng settings which will delete current synced material but apparently (never tested so can't be sure) not non-backed up purchases.
Under AppleTV's Settings>Computers menu, the top entry is teh sync library - if this is greyed out then either it's no longer available (eg different computer) or AppleTV and itunes are not connected.  If you select it and choose to remove it,you can re-add the AppleTV to itunes afresh - if itunes doesn't see the AppleTV requesting a pairing when you try this either there's a communication/network issue (hardware or software related) or perhaps itunes installation corruption.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone no longer shows up in iPhoto after iTunes update

I took some photos with my iPhone 3G today. iPhoto launched when I attached the iPhone (USB) but it no longer appears in the sidebar and so I cannot download the photos. It worked perfectly 3 days ago. The only system change is that I updated iTunes and iMovie yesterday. There is a possibility that iTunes has disrupted things. The iPhone appears in the iTunes sidebar

    Start with the troubleshooting basics:
    1. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    2. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • I got the iphone 5 and it does not show as a device in itunes??

how do i get my iphone 5 to show as a device in itunes?

The iPhone 5 running iOS 6 requires iTunes 10.7. Start iTunes on your computer and use the menu to see About iTunes and determine the version. Is it 10.7? If not you must update iTunes.
Note that iTunes 10.7 requires OSX 10.6.8 or higher on a Mac.
If your iTunes is already at 10.7 then reboot your computer and reset your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • IPhone no longer shows up in iTunes: can't update files, etc.

    Hi there,
For some reason (and I don't think it's the USB connection... I've tried two) by iPhone no longer shows up in the iTunes window when I connect it to my MBP. Consequently, I can't update my Address Book, or anything like that.
Does anyone know what I can do to correct this? I've tried restarting the phone (a 3G, by the way, running the new OS)
    Regards, Malcolm

now I have no music in iTunes. Luckily, I'd renamed my iTunes folder, and moved it onto my desktop. I thought it would be a simple matter of replacing the new (empty) iTunes folder with my old one, but this doesn't seem to work. Can someone tell me the best was to get my 3,000-odd songs (and the folders/playlists they're in, etc., back into iTunes?
If you move and rename the the iTunes folder you won't see any music in iTunes the next time you launch it. You can quit iTunes and rename it then put it back or leave it and launch iTunes while holding Option to choose the location of the iTunes library.
