My iPhone no longer works with external speakers

Since upgrading to the 3.0 software, my iPhone (the original 2G model) no longer works with the speakers I have, or with my DVD/surround system. Previously it worked fine! Has anyone else experienced this. I'm so disappointed, as I use the speakers/surround system a lot to listen to music.
If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it

OK, I just clicked restore to backup in itunes and after restoring the iphone, it seems to be connecting and working through the speakers now. Whew!

My iPhone no longer works with my wi-fi network.  It detects the network but is unable to communicate, even though until today it worked great for months.  The network is Verizon FiOS Internet on an M1424WR router.  PCs and iPad continue to work with the same network without any problem.  Any ideas?

have you upgraded to the new ios5 software? if so that could be the issue and contact apple.

  • Sync iCloud-enabled iPhone no longer works with iTunes

Both my wife's and my iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S stopped syncing with iTunes soon after the switch to iCLoud and iOS 5.0.1.
Both phones are setup to backup into iCLoud and to sync via WiFi to the inhouse iTunes.
At some point iTunes decided that both devices are no longer linked with our Computer (iMac 27 OSX 10.7.2) and insists whenever it 'sees' the iPhones on WiFi or the local cable that either devive has to be initialized or restored from the latest local backup (which is outdated due to the iCloud backups).
No way to syn music, videos, movies to any of the devices ever since.
Anybody else having the same issues with iTunes 'forgetting' previously paired iPhones?

That is wild! My receiver had problems under 4.1, and I upgraded to 4.2 last night hoping to rectify things. It worked for me, flies through the menus and plays back beautifully again.

  • Audio no longer works with external display

Before Yosemite, I could plug my computer to a HDTV through a HDMI cable, and then hook up my audio to a stereo, so I could watch TV shows. After upgrading to Yosemite, my audio no longer work when connected to a HDTV. Any help?

  • IPhone no longer works with car charger

I bought this car charger and it worked for months, and when I got back from a road trip I got the latest iPhone OS update and now the phone tells me that "Charging is not supported with this accessory."

Did the charger include the "made for iPhone" certification when purchased including for the 3GS?
Your iPod Classic can be charged via USB or Firewire. The original iPhone can be charged via USB or Firewire, but the FireWire pins were removed from the iPhone's dock connector after the original iPhone which is also the same with all iPod models now. If your car charger charges via FireWire, this wouldn't work with the 3GS regardless. If a 3rd party device does not include the "made for iPhone" certification, this doesn't mean it won't work with the iPhone but having the certification ensures it - unless the device has failed.
If there were something wrong with your iPhone, it wouldn't be charging when connected to your computer or to the wall charger either.
If the charger includes the "made for iPhone" certification, contact the manufacturer. If not, purchase one that does.

  • Alarm clock not working with external speakers

I have a first generation iPod mini. I have some playlists - but cant get the alarm to work! it switches on for a second, but it comes on paused so you dont hear the music. Then it shuts off
I am using external speakers, iBass, and i am wondering is there any specific way that you're supposed to shut it off so that it does not pause when it comes on?

  • My audio on face time won't work with external speakers plugged in

I have a fairly new iMac. My husband bought me some Bose speakers and when I try to face time with the speakers plugged in I do not get any audio.

Facetime has not been available on iPads purchased in the UAE for years.
Although Facetime can work in the UAE on devices which do have it I don't know why you have not been able to use it in iOS 7.

  • IPhone no longer works with car audio

I'm running a 16 GB 3G-S and it worked wonderfully for my internet music such as Pandora or listening to iHeart radio.
The unit would sync up easily to both my new car audio systems and everything detected and played beautifully! However, once I upgraded to 4.2.1 the iPhone is no longer detected in "iPod Mode" or either receiver. I either get error codes from the receiver or errors from the iPhone that this is not supported (when it was in 4.1).
I really loved those features for my frequent long drives. I really hope there is a fix for this problem. I did check with both receiver manufacturers and they maintain their units should work.
Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!

  • Time Machine no longer working with External Hard drive

    Hello
I have an iMac 24 and an Iomega 500Gb drive. TimeMachine was working fine when I first set it up over Firewire. I then bought a MacBook and tried to use a the same drive to run separate Time Machine backups. I aborted it when I ran out of time as I was going away.
The iMac and the MacBook no longer recognise the Iomega drive as valid. I get an error about the drive being read only.
How can I resolve or reset this to get the iMac backups working? I'll probably buy a portable drive for the MacBook backups.
    Thanks

    mosey,
Unfortunately, your going to have to reformat the drive. There is no fix for the "Read Only" issue at this time.
*_How Should a Time Machine Hard Disk be Prepared?_*
For Time Machine to work properly, the hard disk must be formatted “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” and its’ Partition Scheme should be either GUID or Apple Partition Map.
Time Machine is incompatible with disks partitioned as Master Boot Record (MBR). Unfortunately, this describes nearly every hard drive you can buy because MBR is a Windows partition scheme. (Naturally, this DOES NOT apply to Apples’ Time Capsule.)
For some, Time Machine begins to perform as expected with a new external hard disk. But then the initial full backup or subsequent incremental backups fail. The user only later discovers the hard disk was still partitioned as Master Boot Record (MBR).
One article on Time Machine made this observation: “Virtually everybody will have to open Disk Utility and repartition the disk as APM or GUID. It doesn't really matter which one because the Time Machine disk will not be bootable anyway. APM allows a disk to boot a PowerPC, GUID allows the disk to boot an Intel processor but both are easily digestible by Time Machine on either kind of processor.” [http://www.girr.org/mac_stuff/backups.html]
It’s been recommended by many here that your reserve at least double the size of your primary hard disk, that way Time Machine backups have room to grow as the size of your data grows. Additionally, the more space you give Time Machine the more history it can preserve. The less space you reserve for Time Machine the sooner older backups & deleted items will disappear.
    Procedure
Connect the hard disk you wish to use for Time Machine backups.
    Launch Disk Utility.
It will appear twice in the pane on the left. (Make sure you recognize that it is different from the 2 icons that represent your Macs' internal drive.) The upper entry represent the device as a whole, including the controller inside. The lower entry represents the hard disk contained within the device.
Click on the upper icon of the external hard disk.
    Select the "Partition" tab.
For "Volume Scheme" choose "1 partition". (Chose 2 partitions if you intend on storing other data on the disk besides your Time Machine backups.)
    Name the disk.
Format should be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".
    Click "Options".
Select either GUID or Apple Partition Map. (See above for significance)
    Click "OK".
    Click "Apply".
Now chose the level of secure erase you desire. (More passes means more time)
Once the external hard disk is repartitioned, select it again in Time Machine preferences and use it for your backups.
Let us know if this was helpful.
    Cheers!

  • IPhone no longer works with Pioneer AVIC-D3 car stereo after recent update

I've used my first gen iPhone with the iPod adapter/cable from my Pioneer AVIC-D3 since I first got it - and it's worked great. But after the recent update it doesn't work. I only get an "Error-11" message on the stereo screen when I plug the phone in. Anyone? This is really frustrating!
    Thanks.

Nevermind. Did a hard reset of each and they work now. Odd...

  • "Import GPS from iPhone" no longer working with iPhone 4 & 4S

    Hi-
Since upgrading to the Iphone 4, the Import GPS from Iphone function has ceased to work.  The phone appears on the import screen, and photos can be imported sucesfully (and the GPS data is embedded correctly on the photo), but when you go to the places window and go to the import gps from iphone function, the window opens like it's trying to bring up the photos but nothing appears.
This bug continues with the 4S.  This function worked fine with my Iphone 3.
Has anyone found a work around for this?  I'm surprised this bug has yet to be fixed.
    Thanks
    Matt

I have the same problem the screen is show something like this:
And never stops and show any photo.
In other way i want to use it to create an slideshow that scroll the map showing the photos, it is possible?
An update soon to fix this problem...
    Thanks...

  • IPhone No Longer Works with JBL Onstage III

Is anyone experiencing a similar issue after upgrading your iPhone 1st generation to 2.1? Now, when I pop my phone into the JBL Onstage III, it gives me the prompt that it's not a compatible device, and would I like to put it in airport mode. It's also not charging all the time, and seems to take a few second to even recognize it's plugged in.
Is it my phone, or is the JBL speaker system dying on me?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • The Remote App on my iPhone no longer works with my Apple TV 1st Gen

I don't use it that often but when I want to, I want to...u know how it goes. Since one of the updates for the Remote app on the iPhone it no longer "sees" my 1st gen Apple TV, any ideas or am I SOL? Apple TV 1st gen doesn't do homesharing does it?

there used to be a dark gray "pad" area on the display of my phone in the remote app that I could use kinda like a track pad to move around the menus on the appletv, u could tap it, swipe it etc, that's gone cause it no longer sees my apple tv library, I can't find the library on the apple tv, is that cause homesharing isn't available and it only sees things thru homesharing?

  • Iphone no longer works in my suburban?

after update...iphone no longer works with my infotainment system in my suburban.  Any ideas?

Have you set the vehicle's headunit to forget the iPhone?
Once you do, try to pair to the vehicle as if this was a brand new device.  Make the iPhone discoverable and place the headunit into pairing mode.
