My iPhone recently has lost the ability to be turned off or on with the sleep/wake button I purchased it from Verizon not apple what should I do?
I am really upset with this I expected a lot more out of apple. What should I do
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store. Apple provides warranty (and out of warranty) service for the phone. Not Verizon.

They did. They told you what you should do to get the problem resolve. Too, "iCare" is an AASP and provides service for Apple's products, but the staff is not employed by Apple. It's not an "Apple Store". -
I have to restore my iphone 4s becasue it is saying "disabled connect to itunes" and it's never been synced with itunes. However the sleep/wake button is broken on the phone is there still away to restore without using it?
You can try, but the problem with that is you need battery power in order to restore. Once your phone has enough power to restore, it will still show the same message. To get the phone into either recovery mode or DFU mode requires the ability to first turn the phone off. But, you've got nothing to lose, so you might as well give it a shot.

The issue started just out of warranty. Had powering on problem and did not want to spend money on repair. After that the phone crashed and refused to power on for 4 months. Now I am eligible for repair but apple store declined saying it is a hardware problem and beyond repair. I am not able to comprehend the attitude of Apple. Obviously manufacturing sub standard products is their fault and we are paying heavy price!!

If the phone was not operating as its supposed to initially you could of had the phone replaced under the 1Year Warranty. Apple is only Fixing phones with strictly "sleep/wake" button issues. i.e. if your phone has other issues other than "sleep/wake" you must fix those on your own (if out of warranty) prior to apple fixing the sleep/wake. However if your device is under warranty they will give you a new phone. -

Only way is to bring it to the Apple Store and use the warranty if it hasn't expired

Have similar problem, but i dont think the noise coming form button, noise is coming again even when i keep the button under my finger and shake the phone.by the way the button is loose, that's right.

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset. -
I have a iphone3GS. It could not be boot up. When i press the sleep/wake button, the apple logo appear and then disappear. The password login screen didnt' come on. When i tried to connect my phone to the itune on my laptop, there isnt this button that i can sync my phone with the laptop.
Sounds like your iPhones software may be corrupt. Try placing the iPhone into recovery mode. To do this, follow the steps in this article:

And you can't do a reset by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?
If so and there is no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes, make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby since more than likely there is a hardware problem. -

If it isn't responding to any of those steps it might prove difficult to extract data from the phone.
So again your best bet may be the Apple Store, they would be able to help retrieve it I expect. -

my phone was showing the apple pic when i eraseed all content and settings so i did Pressed both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appeared, then released the sleep/wake button and continued pressing the home button alone until iTunes detected the phone in Recovery Mode but an error is coming (1015) plz help me!!!!
