Too late. Your phone is in recovery mode. All data are already gone. You have no option other than to restore the phone.

If a second-hand iOS device has been 'Activation locked' then only the previous owner can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before selling it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If you are unable to contact him to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you.
You should if possible return it to wherever you bought it and ask for a refund as in this event the device is completely useless. -
when ipod starts up, shows usb cable to connect to itunes then asks for my lock password but cannot get into ipod to put in password. any ideas?

I have tried holding down the home and power button countless of times. It doesnt respond at all. Plug my phone to a charger and hold down the power button and my phone switched on. But it said Activation Required and said connect to Itunes. As e screen remains on the connect to Itunes screen, I disconnect the charger from my phone and my phone went dead instantly. My battery is full btw. Tried connecting to Itunes through my Macbook Pro but iTunes doesnt detect my device and the apple logo flashes for about a few seconds on my phone and then disappear and then came back on again. My Iphone has been connected to my laptop for about 30 mins and the apple logo has been coming on and off for 30 minutes now and Itunes has not detect my device yet.

Have you plugged in your iPhone to the computer? In iTunes > File > Devices you should be able to "Transfer Purchases."

I updated my phone to ios7 and it told me to connect to iTunes. When I did the phone said it needed to be restored. I did this and then iTunes said it can't be as it isn't eligible so now my phone won't turn on. Help please!

HT1766 Itunes want me to restore my phone but I don't know if it was backed-up, HELP!!!
I am having a problem with my iphone... I tried to do the IOS 6 update through itunes and it is now prompting me to restore my phone to original settings and my phone is stuck in recovery mode (with the usb connection/itunes icon displayed on the screen).
This is what happened:
I connected my phone to my mac for the first time toady and it atomatically began to sync with itunes... does that mean my phone has been backed-up???
Itunes also prompted me to update my phone to IOS 6 while connected, so I went through the procedure to update.
While my phone was updating, it suddenly stopped and went into recovery mode with the usb/itunes logo showing on the display. No matter what I do, it is now stuck in recovery mode.
When I went back to itunes, it is now saying that it detects an iphone in recovery mode and that I must restore the phone.
I will retore my phone, but I don't want to loose all of the picture of my kids... were my pictures backed-up while my phone was automatically syncing with itunes? Is there a way to check?
This *****If you have been regularly syncing it should be. You can double check though..
on windows edit > preferences > devices > look in the box and see the dates and times for device backups
on Mac itunes > preferences > rest is the same -

There's no way to "restore" your phone, but, you can login to iCloud.com, using your computer, locate your phone, then erase it.

I have an iphone6 16gb and the device storage is showing more than what i have installed in it. A few days ago suddenly i got a popup window of my device storage getting full though i hardly had 4-5 apps and 500mb of photos. I tried restoring the phone and using it again as a new phone, i got my 10gb of storage but it still holds around 900 mb of storage which is not accounted. When i connect my phone to itunes, around 868mb is shown in the others section. I have no backed up data except for the contacts which are there in the icloud account. i dont understand what is that 868 mb of data.
This space is taken up by iOS 8.

I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to use it on the t mobile network. The thing is, I've tried restoring the phone so I could use it. I haven't tried my sim on other phones yet. But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. I don't have a data plan for tmobile tw! Hopefully someone can help! Thank you so much in advance!
If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. last night while i was sleeping at somone has tried to open my passcode if Iphone 6 plus model A1524. Now i cannot see the passcode screen and it just saysi phone is disable connect to itunes . Then i decided to restore my iphone and i have download almost 4 firmware files (iPhone7,1_8.3_12F70_Restore.ipsw and iPhone7,1_8.0_12A366_Restore.ipsw and iPhone7,1_8.0.1_12A402_Restore.ipsw and fourth one is iPhone7,1_8.2_12D508_Restore.ipsw.part) and restore (by holding shift in itunes and selecting file ) using itunes ( which is current version 12.1.2.27 64 bit) but for everytime two of them(while extracting ) which are (iPhone7,1_8.3_12F70_Restore.ipsw and iPhone7,1_8.2_12D508_Restore.ipsw.part) it says "Iphone "Iphone" could not be restored becuse firmware file was corrupted please disconnect and try again later" .i have tried to download "iPhone7,1_8.3_12F70_Restore.ipsw " manually and via itunes (when i download and restore using itunes it says
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone ''iPhone'' A unknown error occured (9006).
Make sure your networks settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again.''
but nothing works (While for rest of two it says firmware file is not compatible).. I'm tired of these now as i'm working on this problem for 5 days ...
