My iphone says that i have 7GB of photos, but i only have 172 photos, ***? how can i keep my 7GB without restoring my phone?

i need help, i dont understand why it says that i have 7GB when i actually only have 172 photos.

File corruption happens ... perhaps from apps, etc.
Why wouldn't you simply restore your iPhone?
If you elect to do that, you would use iTunes (current version 11.0.1), plug your iPhone in, sync it, and choose "Restore" from the iPhone's summary panel on the right.
A restore like this may or may not solve the issue (it likely would).  If it doesn't, you would restore as new (instead of restoring from the backup) and then manually sync the iPhone.
