My iphone screen stays locked in a magnified position

my iphone screen stays locked in a magnified position. Any icon fills 30% of the entire screen. I have tried resetting without any success. I also restored my phone using iTunes and the problem still persists.
Any idea of what is wrong?

You probably have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers.

  • Ipod nano 3rd gen unit is locked, though never have done a manual lock on it. Screen is lit and lock button shows.  Have latest itunes, but nothing syncs.  Have done everything on supports pages including toggle hold button, etc. Screen stays locked. Help

ipod nano 3rd gen unit windows xp.   Nano is locked, though never have done a manual lock on it. Screen is lit and lock button shows.  Have latest itunes, but nothing syncs.  Have done everything on supports pages including toggle hold button, etc. Screen stays locked. Help please.

Sounds like the hold switch is broken, meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.

  • I cannot receive phone calls or messages when iPhone screen is locked

    Hello,
    i have an iPhone 5.
i Am unable to receive phone calls or text messages when my screen is locked. When I unlock the screen the missed call doesn't even appear so I have no idea anyone has called me. Text messages come through at about 12:30am every night.
i Have tried EVERYTHING I could find in forums and Apple trouble shooting. This is my last resort other than sending it to Apple.
iit is as if "do not disturb" is stuck on, but it isn't.
    i Have tried:
changing all all do not disturb settings.
    checked call forwarding etc.
    checked mute
my silent button is not on.
i have reset every setting and then even reset the phone and manually transferred everything back onto it rather than restore It from previous back ups.
    oout it in recovery mode.
i Have no success with any.
the weird part is when I first lock the screen and try to call it, it does ring. But if I give it a minute or more it won't ring.
does anyone have any ideas or anything that may help?
    PLease, please, please

I Have also checked blocked numbers and swapped SIM cards from a completely different carrier so it's not the carrier either

  • IPhone screen is locked. Unable to slide open?

My phone wored last night but after charging last night, the screen is locked.

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Iphone screen is locked

I tried to make a call using "recent calls", but the screen is locked.  I can't scroll  the recent calls list, and I can't switch to either contacts or keypad.  Seems to need a reboot of some sort.

If you want to do a "hard reboot/reset" which is basically a forced power off/on. It will not hurt your phone and you will not lose any data. To do a hard reboot, hold the home and sleep buttons together until the Apple logo appears. You should have to hold them just over ten seconds.

  • My iPhone 4 is locked in the horizontal position and the keypad. unable to send text messages

uanble to send text messages. phone is locked in the horizontal position with the keypad. cannot type on the keypad,

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

  • Iphone screen is locked, cannot access home screen

In the restoring process, it stopped and created at message about encountering a problem and could not restore.  Then a picture of a usb cable pointing to am arrow, then pointing to the iTunes logo.  I've tried all the steps recommended by iTunes to fix this problem...nothing has worked. This is my husband's phone  so I'm in big trouble.

If you are trying to restore the phone and it would because it has a lock on the screen you can turn the phone off unplug it but leave itunes up. Then hold the home button and then plug in the home keep holding the home button and it should bring a message up in itunes say iphone in recovery mode restore .

  • IPhone screen stays on too long

Can anyone tell me why my screen would stay on longer than a minute when the phone isn't being used? Sometimes I've noticed this when it's attached to a music dock or via USB to my laptop, but lately it seems to stay on even when it's sitting on my desk unconnected to anything. Easy enough to shut off the screen by pushing the button on top, but I'm using up battery power I don't want to, and it seems like the phone should go to sleep sooner than it is.

    Many thanks.
I see how it happened. I'd turned on a password lock for a couple days a while ago, and when I turned it off, I set Auto-Lock to "never," thinking this was the way to turn off the password lock.

  • My iPhone screen keeps locking up but phones appears to still be powered...

Sometimes when I get off a call or close out of an application, the screen on my phone will go black. The phone will still be powered on as this has happened when someone was calling me and it was vibrating due to the ring. I've tried to hold down the power button to power the phone off but instead of giving me the slide option to turn it off, it does nothing. Sometimes it will stay black for a few seconds, other times a few hours. I've tried plugging it into my pc and connecting to iTunes, plugging it into the wall socket as if I'm charging it, and even plugging it into a car charger to see if this would somehow reset the screen and nothing. Any suggestions? I've only had the iPhone for about 8 months and other than this, completely love it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tap tap, is this thing on? Anyone else have any issues similar to this?

  • IPhone Screen Rotation lock

Upgraded my phone and a new rotation lock icon appeared at the top. Finally figured out how to turn it off.
Double click menu key and move icons to left and it will expose the rotation lock icon. Just press. Easy once you know where it is.

Double tap phone button and slide icons over to expose iPod controls. There is a rotation icon. Just press and "Shazzam" unlocked.

  • My iphone screen locked i forget my password how to open my iphone 4s

my iphone screen is locked i am forgot password how to open my phone please help me

    Hello BobyJacob,
It sounds like the passcode is forgotten and you cannot get into your iPad. You can use the following article to help reset that passcode:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.
If you have not synced your device to iTunes there is a section in the article for that as well.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Lock iphone screen with apple logo

My iphone screen is lock and it displays the apple log and won't turn off.

My 3Gs did the same thing this last week - I thought it was a goner, but after it completely discharged, I was able to restore it using iTunes.
Maybe this will help, maybe not. It is a difficult thing to show patience with this device!
