My iPhone screen went white when I did a screen shot. Now the screen will not go back.  How do I fix this?

I have an iPhone 5 with 8.0 update.  I was taking a screen shot and my screen went totally white.  It will not go back to normal.  It is still white.  I can hear a text but can not see it.  What has gone wrong?  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo . You will not lose any data . Cheers  Brian
