My iPhone sounds aren't working why is this?

My iPhone sounds such as: Keyboard clicks, new message tones, lock sounds, new mail sounds, or any type of alerts aren't working, music also isn't audible. When I plug the headphones in I can hear everything, but without the headphone I can't hear anything except for the ringer. Why is this? Is there something wrong with the headphone port? or is there something wrong with the phone? I've had this phone since late February of 2008 and haven't experienced this problem until today. I have turned it off and on and that doesn't seem to help. Any idea what this is?

You know what, that did the trick! I think something was wrong with the headphone port because I clicked the side volume button and it kept coming up as "Headphone (ringer)" I put the headphones in and out a couple of times and then it went back to normal. Thanks for the tip!

Some Finder Sounds Aren't Working (Trash File and Move File)?

Last night I noticed that *some of the finder sounds* aren't working (trashing and moving a file/folder) on my mac mini. The rest of the finder sounds seem unaffected (emptying the trash, removing an icon from the dock). I tried some solutions online with limited success.
Odd things that are happening:
1) After a reboot, the first time I delete a file or move a folder, the *monitor resets itself*. Kinda like when you change the resolution. My TV loses the feed for a sec and quickly reestablishes it. After this happens, no finder sounds for moving and trashing
2) I heard some people were having this same problem because of coreaudiod.plist files (Library/Preferences/Audio. When I copy the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist to the desktop these finder sounds return, but just for this file. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10465859
3) I noticed these problems after I started using the Kanex Mini DisplayPort Adapter To HDMI 1080p Video w/ Digital Audio. http://kanexlive.com/products/item.aspx?id=3495 But, I tried switching back to the old setup of a basic minidvd to hdmi and a rca y cable and it made no difference.
4) I also completely did a fresh install and everything worked fine until late in the process after I did a reboot (see point 1). Is it a third party software problem? I installed the HippoRemoteVNC that allows me to take control of the computer with the iphone. I also have installed Plex, Boxee, XBMC, Perian codecs, Hulu desktop, Quicktime 7, and Transmission.
System Specs:
Computer: Mac Mini (Late 2009) - 2.26Ghz, 2GB RAM, 10.6.1
Monitor: Panasonic TH-42PZ700U 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

Go to your /Applications/Utilities folder and run the Audio MIDI Setup application.
Confirm settings there match your expectations.

Automatic time is a function of your Wireless carrier. Your post indicates that your iPhone (5 or 5c) is running iOS 7.0.6. The current version is 7.1.1. You might try updating your device to the current iOS version.

You have system sounds on mute. Double tap the home button and swipe to see the left edge of the task bar. If there is a sound icon there with a line thr it, touch it to toggle the sounds back on. If the icon looks like the rotation symbol, then flip the small switch next to the volume rocker on the side of the pad.

I sounds like you have the first generation (1G) iPod Touch with an iOS earlier than 2.0, Yu can identify your ipod here:

You can identify your iOS version by going to Settings>General>About and look by Version. Yu can update ti iOS 3.1.3 (the lated for the 1G) by this link. It is a paid update. You may have to try another browser to get he sublink to work correctly.

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

I have had my iPhone 4s for over a year with no problems other than the occasional slow down, etc. Just last night, the sound on my phone randomly stopped working. It will work for a few seconds then stop, and just keep doing it. Its my ringtone, text tone, keypad tone, music, and video apps. I've tried turning the phone on and off with no luck. I just want to know why my phone has suddenly started doing this when it was just working fine and how to fix it. Please help?

None of these methods worked, so I just took a very thin paintbrush and dampened it using a Clorox wipe. Then, I just wiggled it around in the charging port. The sound worked for like 3 seconds then it stopped again. So I continued to clean it and it worked! After I listened to my music for about 30 minutes until it stopped again. I just blew hard into the port and it started working again. I think the problem was that the phone thought it was docked into speakers because it was so dirty. I think I'm going to get an Otterbox so this doesn't happen again. I hope I helped.

All the contacts sync configuration has been done, first I configured the iTunes to sync with outlook but nothing happen, then change to Gmail but same.

I just bought my iphone 3g today. Everything seems to be working well. No crashes. Everything synced well also.
But for some reason the sound seems to be not working. From the sounds setting, I turned off both vibrates and even put the volume to the fullest. Everything else is set ON. I tried playing music but that won't work either. I turned it on and off and that won't work either. Is there a secret button that I'm totally ignoring? I'm going to go in tomorrow to see whats up but I'm hoping to fix the problem tonight if I can. I will appreciate any help I can get.

It might sound silly, but I had this happen on my 1st gen iPhone a few months ago. It was as if the thing was totally muted, I couldn't play any music or hear anyone on a phone call. I really thought my phone was broken. I talked to an apple rep and they asked me to plug my headphones in, then remove them. lol That fixed the problem. For some reason, the phone thought the headphones were still plugged in and it was routing all audio to the headphone jack instead of the speaker/earpiece. Plugging the headphones in, then removing them told the phone they weren't plugged in anymore and it worked fine after that.
Hopefully your problem is as simple as that.

The sound of the videos I took on my iPhone is muffled and quiet, why is this?

I went to a concert yesterday and took a few videos and when playing them afterwards the sound is muffled and quiet. I didn't have my hand over the speakers or mic when recording so I don't know why it has done this. Does anyone know how I can fix this and if the sound of my videos can be restored. Thanks.
