It really depends on the circumstances. If you haven't powered your phone off yourself for quite some time, sometimes kinks can just happen and this sounds like one of them. Every so often on mine I will have to use this method but it is in the very minority of occasions. -
My Iphone 4s shut down by itself after a phone call and I cannot turn it on. I took it to istore and they said it was unrespinsive and there is nothing they can do? When I connect the phone to itunes it indicates that the phone should be restored, however when i try to restore it, it says the "software for this iphone is not currently available" Is there anything I can do other than put this brand new iphone in the grabage?
On computer, at the top of this page is a Tab for iTunes, click it, make sure iTunes is up to date. Also make sure computer Fire Wall and Anti Virus do not interfere with iTunes, turn them OFF to be certain.

I was just chatting on a app and the phone just froze, went to a white screen with the apple trade mark. Then it completely shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I tried charging it and it still won't turn back on.
Thanks for the advice but I've tried this it hasn't worked. I've held down both buttons together for more than a minute. Do I have to hold them down longer than this?

Assuming your iPhone is well charged, place it in recovery mode as described here. You may have to try this more than once to succeed.

I'm having the same problem my back light on my IPhone 4S just shut off completely but I can hear Siri when I press the home button ... I just can't see a thing ... I've tried holding the top button and home button but it didn't reboot so I'm sooo confused .. Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

Varghese paulThere is no reason that a brand new phone should be having problems. I would say return it for a new one because it's less then a week old or return it. It's unacceptable. I have been having software issues with my iPhone 3GS too. I feel that Apple did a half done job on the software and really failed to bring new features to their third gen. iPhone.

I plugged my iphone in my laptop to update it as it wasnt updating it just like that, but when i plugged it in i lost all my contacts and important information is their anyway i can get it back?? help!!!
Where were you storing your contacts? In the cloud? In outlook? Synch them back from wherever they were being stored.

Can someone please help. My IPhoneS stopped working right after I did the latest update which was yesterday. Now, the phone does not work at all. When turned on, the screen shows a picture of USB cable pointing to the ITunes logo. I have tried just about everything, and cannot get it working. It's like it is frozon. My ITunes does not recognize my device. Cannot dial out either. I desperately need to get it working. Can someone please help me.

AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network. -

I have a problem with my iPhone 5 stopped working the sleep / power and simultaneously refused to obey the HOME button. I can not use either one or the other. I can not enable or disable the device, display lights up when you plug the charger. same display works fine as it is surprising. or maybe someone knows what is the reason for this? is there any way to solve this problem?
More than likely its a hardware issue, I have never encountered such a problem and best bet is to just go get it replaced. If you have insurance on your device apple will replace it as long as there was no water damage, if you dont have insurance they will charge $200 more or less. Hope you get it fixed

You can log in to Adobe.com with your credentials .If you do not have any prior credentials ,you need to create an account .Adobe.com will either let you purchase the product or opt for a trial version.
