My iPhone tries to sync automatically, even though I don't want it to
Even though I have the option "Prevent iPhones, iPads,and iPods from syncing automatically" checked, when I plug my iphone in to my Mac, it will say "Sync in Progress" and the little sync wheel will start spinning next to my device name in iTunes. Now, it's not really syncing, because in iTunes nothing is going on in the status window at the top of iTunes. The iPhone just acts like it is, or is trying to. This behavior just started happening one day, not sure why. How can I prevent it? Do I need to trash or edit an iTunes preference file? Any suggestions or insight? Thanks.
My iPhone has been restarted several times since this behavior started and it still persists. Unchecking and then rechecking the box for the preference is also one of the first things I tried.

From the search page offered go to your chosen home page. Now move the mouse to the top left and scan the options for view, Toolbars and make sure that the "Menu bar" is ticked. This will show the File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks and tools options plus Help. Click on tools, then Options and select current page as your home page. All should now be sorted.

GarageBand corrects me, even though I don't want it to
I've just gotten into recording music at home using a Roland Studio Capture (a digital USB interface for up to 16 channels). I use GarageBand 10.0.3 to record everything, and it works fine. Until I'd like to do some post-production.
Say I've recorded multiple tracks at the same time with my band, and I'd like to add another track. Whenever I record that track, GarageBand automatically corrects its pace. This makes my recording sound way different from what I played. I cannot turn this off, and when I do untick the box that says 'Follow tempo and pitch', it ticks itself when I try to record again.
Basically, GarageBand thinks it knows how to handle things better than I do. It's really annoying and stops me from adding anything after the initial recording. Can't get rid of CS6 extended offer even though I don't want it.
I wouldn't mind it all that much if I could just close the offer and use my "non extended CS6" but when I attempt to do that photoshop also closes. How can I get rid of this offer ?

IPhone won't sync automatically

Just setting up my new iMac with my iPhone 4. When I connect it with a USB cord, iTunes opens up OK, but doesn't sync automatically even though the 'Automatically sync..' check box is checked.Also, 'Prevent iPods etc from syncing automatically' is unchecked in iTunes 'Preferences'.
Any thoughts?

Hi, When I try to sync my iphone not all the music in my itunes library syncs successfuly even though I have a lot of space left and I have the 'sync all music' option selected. Any idea? Thanks
While you're correct in that Windows media won't sync to the iPhone (or any i-device), the OP states that all the music is in iTunes. If its in iTunes, it would no longer be in Windows media format since it would have been transcoded to whatever the user sets as their import preference (AAC, mp3, etc.), and once that is done then the media should be able to sync to the iPhone just fine.
To Steph, do the missing songs play OK in iTunes? If not then they could be corrupted in some way. If they play fine in iTunes but don't sync, are they unchecked in iTunes? They won't sync to your iPhone if it is set to ignore unchecked items. Finally, if these are iTunes purchases, are they protected format? (i.e. m4p files) If so, is your computer authorized to play them? (you'd know if you try to play them in iTunes, it would prompt you for the account password if not authorized) -
I just started using my iphone 5s. I have a problem with new incoming emails from my POP account. Why are they marked as read automatically even though I have not even opened them yet.
At first I thought it might be because I was using simultaneously my old iPhone 4S so it somehow realized the emails where being pushed to another device and the it marked as read, this has nothing to do since I have deleted the email account from the iPhone 4SContact the email provider for assistance with their service.

To stop Firefox from checking whether it is the default browser, use the Options dialog as described in this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]] (first screen shot).
To have your preferred browser make itself the default again, it may well prompt you, or you can check its Options dialog. -
I have to input a password to log in to my Macbook Pro Santa Rosa under Mountain Lion. Now suddenly the built-in keyboard doesn't work at all so I cannot use my computer. I also notice that the bluetooth function is activated automatically even though I turn it off. It looks for an external keyboard. Please help me out. Many thanks!
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

Somehow I do have my 5th gen. iPod set up to sync automatically with the same iTunes / computer. But I do not actually see a checkbox for either device.

If by download bar you are referring to the spinning gears, they are gone in Mail 6.5. There is no indication Mail is checking for Mail. If it finds Mail, it will show it downloading in the lower left hand corner.
Under the Window menu there is Activity. Try opening it and you should be able to see if Mail is checking for new mail. -
