ok, so my iphone was stolen and i want to know if i can transfer my old number to my new iphone without a new contract since i don't have the old sim card nor my old computer with the old iphone's backup, any suggestions?

U should call ATT&T and tell them that ur iPhone was stolen and u need to cancel or block your stolen iPhone account so they cannot use it and transfer the same number to a new iPhone ( or other phone)..

Also, I can't do that thing where you go on itunes and find out which device was last connected because I accidentallly connected a different ipod. soo yeah

Go to the iPods syncing computer. Open iTunes and open iTunes' Preferences. Go to the Devices tab and hoover the mouse pointer over the backup for that iPod. The SN whill come up.

So my iPhone 4 was stolen and I need to get the serial number off of it to help find it. I looked online and an article (this one to be exact: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US) told me to go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and then select my device and it would tell me the serial number. However, when I got to the devices menu, my iPhone didn't show up, but my dad's did. Any idea on how to get it to show up or an alternate way to get the serial number (I don't have the box or the phone)?

Yours was stolen, it will not show up in iTunes. There is no way to get your serial number unless you registered it with Apple: Your Support Profile for Registered Purchases.

Sorry for your loss but, If you didn't setup Find My iPhone BEFORE you lost your iDevice then there is no way to track it.
Change all the passwords for the accounts you were accessing on it and report the loss to your local police.

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

Quickest place to look is in the label attached to the box the phone came in.
Not around anymore? Maybe the carrier you used the phone with can facilitate the information. Also, when under contract, the IMEI is listed in the paperwork. Apple, alas, is quite unhelpful with that information.
