My iphone wifi data from the consolidated file shows more wifi networks than I have been exposed to. Does the iphone also collect location on wifi networks that are within reach of the wifi networks it has access to?
I took out the wifi location data from the consolidated file and plotted into google maps. Clearly, not all those wifi networks are in areas or really close to areas I've been to, yet somewhat close. Does it mean that if I am within a range of a wifi network my iphone will not only collect location data of that particular wifi network but also all others that are within reach of that wifi network and so forth?

i fix my iphone 5 to syn with my macbook in begging is ok after i have message in screen ,Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled
Unplug whatever other devices you also have plugged into USB, and try again. Better not to plug the iPhone into a USB hub.

Have been advised by my email provider (recently blocked account requiring password reset) that they will only reset the password after a proven anti virus and malware scan has been done on ipad and iphone. Is this necessary and if so what do i use
As KP has pointed out, there actually aren't any anti-virus programs in the App Store. There are a few that allow you to scan e-mail or stuff like that, and a few that provide you with information about malware and new threats for other systems. But none are available that can scan your iOS device for malware, because the security restrictions in iOS do not permit any apps to have that kind of access to anything. Which means that you also cannot be infected with a virus (unless you have jailbroken your device).
If your account got compromised, that had nothing whatsoever to do with your iPad. Someone simply hacked it remotely. Happens all the time. It's really amazing that, in this day and age, e-mail providers are so ignorant of technology and how their own systems get compromised that they would try to require you to run software that does not exist! -
How can I see website data from itouch 4th generation? My 8 yr old may have been on inappropriate sites and I need to see the data from website data stored on the itouch.
There is no way to see where he has been.
Go into Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari and turn it off. Then add the MacGruff browser from the app store. After that go back to Restrictions and turn off the ability to add apps. -
I am trying to upload photos from my digital camera. Every time I try to plug it into my USB, the following error message comes up: "Because a usb device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."
I don't have anything else plugged into my MBP, so I am confused as to what's going on. This problem has never happened before. MBP is less than a year old - about 9 months old. HELPGet a powered USB hub.

i plugged in my ipod and now i get the error message: Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled" - i have a MAcBook pro and now my USB ports do not work - can anyone help me ???
Sometimes you have to reset the SMC two or three times for it to work, don't know why. I've seen that error message before and 100% of the time it was fixed with an SMC reset. I suppose it's possible that your keyboard or mouse IS drawing too much power, do you have access to another you could try?

Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled. - This is what shows up sometimes even when no USB is connected. What could be the reason?
Try a different USB cord, seen this many many times, its highly likely a damaged USB cord.
Restart the computer to redefine Port definition. If still a problem
You can also resetting PRAM/NVRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

i get this error why i try and open the auto cad that i just downloaded
The directory may be locked by another process or have been set Read Only.
Directory: '/Users/hockaday'
Please correct this problem and press OK to exit the application.I did install it in the admin account. Actually the computer has four accounts, one for my husband, where I installed it. One for me which also is set to admin, one is called TEST and has nothing in it and one is guest user.
I don't know how AutoCad is interfacing with the account. That is why I am not sure what to do about it. I read other threads in various places and some seemed to point to something having to do with having multiple users. The solutions were not clear. I was hoping someone else had this problem and could tell me what to do. I tried apple support but no help. I have not tried AutoCad yet as I assumed they wont help since this is a free educational version of their product. -
When I plug in my son's iPad I get this message "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled." I only have one charger for this iPad all my other chargers are for iPhone 4s. I have pluggerd it in different outlets around the house and the iPad will not charge. When I plugged it on my lap top to back it up it gave me the warning message. HELP!!
I have the same problem on my Air. The message first came up while my iPhone was connected to it for some time. Since then, it pops up ALL THE TIME, whithout anything being connected to the USB port, at what appear to be random intervals that vary between about one hour and a few seconds. I have tried resetting the SMC and the PRAM, but no results. A quick search revealed that thousands of users are facing this problem, but Apple has yet to provide a solution. Please help!

Here is the total error message:
"Because a USB devce was drawing too much power from your computer, one
or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much
power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled.
When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB
devices will be enabled again."
Now in contrast to every other thread on this i get this error message eveytime i connect my soundcard (interface). Not when i start up the mac or anything, just when i connect the sound card. (the soundcard does not have its own power source but note that this has never happened before and i have had this soundcard for about a year!)
It deactivates so i cannot use it.
I have tried:
Connecting the soundcard to my mothers mac -> it worked!
Connecting an external harddrive to my mac -> it worked!
so basically, i can't be the soundcard or the cable and it cannot be the mac USB port?
I don't know what to do! i really need this to work! anyone got an idea??Hi, ryankeenanrk.

I have a new iMac 27" and just plugged in a Apple USB superdrive and get message, "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled." I am trying to load Office mac2011 what to do?
If you just bought the iMac and the Sjuperdrive take the superdrive back and get a refund. The by any other brand external DVD drive that connects by USB and try that. Most come with a Y USB cable to allow you to connect to 2 USB ports to supply enogh power to the drive IF Needed.
Or take both back and get a refund on both, you have 14 days to return it no questions asked, and buy another iMac and some other brand external DVD drive. -

Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled?
What do I do?Not Charge
- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use. One symptom of a bad Lightning cable is the message you are getting.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar -
Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
update to the above (my edit has disappeared !)
This appears to be a problem with the USB cable. I can make this message happen during a sync with itunes. If i lift the cable with my finger about a cm away from the join between the cable and the USB connector head of the cable I get this warning message each time I try. I must have a loose wire/connection in the cable.
Thanks
