My iphone will not charge and will not turn on?

Today my iphone is dead. It will not charge and will not turn on. Could it need a new cord? It is just 5 months old! It has always been in the Lifeproof case. Ideas?

Plug it into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes, then try resetting it, again: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock, only through the iPod's internal speaker. Help please!

Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.

  • My iPad will not charge and will not switch on, blank screen.....

My iPad will not charge and will not switch on, blank screen.....

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets the iPad to turn on and/or to charge ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iphone 5 will not charge, and will not power on.

My iphone 5 is 14 months old and it will not charge, and it has died. My charger cable works as it charges my ipad, and I also used a second charger for good measure. Please help.
When I try to power on, it goes to the battery sign with the lightning bolt underneath.
It has been on the charger for a while, and still no luck.
I tried a hard reset to no avail, and I connected it to my computer, but it is dead and itunes won't recognize it if it is dead.

Inspect the charging port area for dirt/debris/fluff build-up that may be preventing a good connection and use a wooden toothpick, soft clean toothbrush, or a can of compressed air to clean it. Also look for bent or broken pins. Try another cable and/or charger block (be sure to always use a genuine Apple certified brand) in a known good outlet. If you're using a USB port, try another port. If you're using a hub, try a direct connection. If you're using a USB port in the front of a desktop computer, try one in the back. If all these fail, make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have the device evaluated.

  • My iphone 5 will not charge and will also not be recognised when plugging into my computer

    I need help.
I have looked on loads of forums but I seem to have 2 problems merged into one.
The first one is that my phone will not charge, i have tried different USB ports, different plugs (the only thing i havent got round to yet is checking the actual cable). I have clean the phone where the cable goes.
Also when i plug it into the computer, it says the USB is not being recognised and it also doesnt charge my phone.
I didnt update the phone last week when i was notified by itunes - will it have something to do with this. I have the latest version of itunes.

    Hello rleighton,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the battery on your iPhone 5.  You have taken some really good steps to troubleshoot this issue already.  I found an article with a few additional steps you can take.
I recommend the following steps for the issue you described (you can skip any of the steps you have already taken):
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • My iPhone will not charge and will only turn on when plugged into adapter.

I have tried to reset and nothing. It turns off if I unplug it and will only turn on when plugged in. The charge has not moved above 19% even though I let it charge for 3 hours while I was out. What do I do?

  • My iPhone4S does not charge, and will not upload photos. How do I fix that?

I think that the charger/usb in the iPhone is burnt out. The charger works on other phones, and I tried 3 different chargers and none of them worked. So, I think it's actually the phone. Is there a way to fix this? Clean it? Replace parts?
Or, there may be a battery problem. Recently I will have days when the battery depletes rapidly. That only happens occationally. Today, the battery did deplete quickley. Initially when I plugged the phone in it started charging & got to 60%, then I unplugged it to make a phone call. Then when I plugged it back in it would charge, then not charge, then charge ... back & forth until it stopped charging all together.
I decided to upload my Christmas photos incase I have to restart it & that didn't work either. Unfortunately my Apple Support expired on 12/21/2012.
    Help. Any ideas?

If your iCloud events are showing the incorrect time, check the following:
Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you.  Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off.

  • My new computer with Windows 8.1 will not charge and will not disply playlists

My new computer with Windows 8 will not charge my iPad and iPods.  Also iTunes will display the music on the Apple devices but not the playlists

Hey, I may have to if I can't get this one to work!!
I have tried a different USB to no avail.  Both cables work on my old Dell so I don't believe they are the issue.
I uninstalled iTunes as directed by Apple Support and reinstalled.  Apparently, Apple Mobile Device Support is not loading with it because it does not show up in programs.

  • HT201210 when  I plug my Ipad 2 in to charge the a message comes up not charging and will only charge half way 58 percent

My IPad 2 will not charge over 58 %

Are you charging it via its wall charger or a computer's USB port ?  Have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • P10 504 will not charge and will not operate from mains

    hi
I'm having difficulties with my P10-504. I plug my charger in the back of the unit and nothing happens. No lights come on at the front and no charging or powering of the notebook.
I have some charge left in the battery and it shows that the computer is operating from battery power (discharging) and not AC power.
I have checked to make sure that the charger is operational with a volt meter and it seems to be fine.
Can any one offer a soloution for me?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi there
    What's the ASP?
I've had a similar problem before, somehow the prong in the power clug snapped off in the charging cable and so the computer would only charge if the cable was held in place.
I sent my computer to Toshiba who fixed the problem, replacing the motherboard I believe.
I now have the problem that the cable and socket appears to be fine yet the computer will not charge.
If I hold the cable in a certian position the light flicks on. If I find that position and leave it there within seconds the lights go out and will not come back on.

  • My Ipod will not charge and I cannot turn it on

My ipod will not charge was working fine yesterday. I have connected it to itunes it up dates the softwre but once it has finished the unit turns itsekf off and will not charge.

Plug it into the charger that came with the device and plug that into a known good wall outlet. If the battery is completely drained it may take an hour or more before the device shows some signs of life.

  • My iPod Touch is not charging and will not sync with itunes

My Ipod touch was feeling really hot and then all of a sudden the screen turned white and started flashing with my apps still open but faded and unaccessible. My screen was a blurry like it looks on tv when you lose connection. Then the ipod kept making the charging noise over and over again and wouldn't charge. It then turned off. Then it put itself on the needs to be charged symbol but it was flashing and then it stopped showing up. I have tried everything-youtube, dfu mode,( it wont even sync to itunes) and it still wont turn on after hours of charging. The screen has been black for hours now. I hope somebody can help me. Thanks.

Let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try a reset (both buttons) and connect to computer and try to restore. If screen is still white you very likely have a hardware problems.

  • IPhone not charging and screen not turning on after battery died

The battery on my iPhone just died about 2 hours ago. I noticed the battery getting kind of hot. Normally when this happens, I let it run to 0% then recharge it to 100%.
After the phone died, I plugged it in (wall charger) and nothing came on the screen. I then plugged it into the computer and nothing came on the screen at all. I left it plugged in for about 20 minutes and still nothing on the screen but the back of the phone was getting really hot. I held the phone up to my ear and heard a slight buzzing noise from the earpiece (?) and when i took the cable out the noise stopped. The overheating kind of freaked me out but I looked extensively online and everything mentioned flipping the vibrate switch and holding the home and power buttons. I then tried restarting my phone while the phone is plugged in and again nothing showed up on the screen.
I tried all of this and nothing happened. As of now I've taken the phone off of the charger as I'm unsure what my next move is going to be. I won't be able to take it to an Apple Store until April so I'm pretty much screwed.
Anyone have anything else I can try?

I was having battery troubles outlined in this topic:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2324513&start=135&tstart=15
I tried some of the easy fixes but none had worked so far. Since the last time my battery drained to 0% and turned off (yesterday), my phone has not turned on. I have plugged it into a working wall socket, and plugged it into my computer, and neither has worked. Please note it's been plugged in for more than 24 hours. I have tried rebooting it but nothing seems to work. I have checked the apple support topics and can't find any solution to this problem that has worked.
Also please note that my phone is not getting hot to the touch, nor is it making a "humming" noise.
    Thanks.

  • MY i pad 2 is not charging and can not pick up wi fi

my ipad is not charging right and not picking up wi fi.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
