My iPhone will NOT fully charge?!?!?!?!

the other day, my phone had the plug symbol for that battery showing that it was fully charged and running on the plug, when i unpluged it, it was fine. that night it was about 1/4 battery(like normal) and i plugged it back in, the next morning i looked at it and it was still charging, usually it is fully charge running on AC. and for 3 days now, i have not been able to get a full charge.
is this happening to anyone else, if so, how do i fix it.
iPhone   Other OS   two weeks old

th scot, You may want to make sure that both bluetooth and wifi are OFF when you're charging. See if that makes a difference.
Otherwise try to shut the iPhone off, then wait a few minutes, then power up.
or try to RESET the iPhone by holding down the Sleep/wake button and the Home button for like 8-10 seconds.
or....
try to RESTORE the iPhone via iTunes RESTORE software.
One of these is bound to work

  • Battery will not fully charge.

My battery will not fully charge anymore. Also, it seems that my phone has a hard time charging because sometimes the bolt will not show even when it is plugged in so it seems like something is loose. I am going to go to Verizon today to have them look into it. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hey SophieLouiseBacon,
Have you been able to try a different cable, it a different cable does the same thing then it is probably and issue with the port on the device.
Let us know how you make out at the store.

  • 1020 will not fully charge

New 1020, first Nokia & Windows phone. Noticed it will not fully charge.
A few days ago I noticed it was not fully chargered after being on the supplied charger over night, it would top out at 73%.  I plugged it into an older wall charger and got it to 100%.
Today I noticed it was not fully charged and pluged it into a different charger that came with my wifes 1020 while I was driving (our car has a built in inverter).  Finally it said it was fully charged (looking at the Settings Screen) so I unpluged it... 10 minutes later it went right back to 73%. No calls were made and it was not used. 15 minutes later it was at 72%. I took screen shots of the settings screen.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Ditto, I dont even have a 25% charge afer a full night. I went to the att carrier I bought it from an dhe saif to make sure you "arrow" out everytime you use the phone but even doing that hasn't helped.  The warranty dept is sending me anew phone. I've only had it 15 days

  • My iPhone 4 battery will not fully charge after latest update.  What gives?

I updated to the latest software and now my iPhone will not charge.

After a full 8 hour charge it only shows about 40% charge.  This phone worked without incident before the last two firmware updates.  I use the same wall charger and Apple cord for my iPad and wife's phone (she has not updated her phone to iOs 6.0.1) and they all work great.  There must be something in the new update that kills battery life. By the way, I replaced my battery less than a month ago.

  • IPhone 5 not fully charging

    Hi,
iPhone 5 - recently noticed when plugged in overnight, it was not fully charging (maybe charging to 75-80% when I checked in morning).  Unplug and plug lightning connector back into phone, and leave it alone.  It will eventually charge all the way.  Anyone else seen this?

Should also mention - let battery completely run down when I noticed this issue and then plugged it in to charge.  Still same behavior.

  • My iphone will not completley charge

My phone will not completely charge at home over night nor in the jeep while on charge? what do I do?

Try recalibrating the battery meter... fully discharge (until it shuts off) and then fully recharge (don't unplug until 100%) to recalibrate the battery meter.  You may need to do this a few times.

  • Iphone will not fulling charge

Over the past two weeks, I have noticed significant battery challenges; among the worst, the phone will not completely charge.  I plug it in to a wall charger at night (6-7 hours) and it only charges to 30 or 40% of the battery.  I have turned off location services in the privacy settings.  I close out the applications used at least 5 times daily, so I am trying to conserve battery power.
I cannot overcome the phone not properly charging.  I have used THREE different wall chargers (two different car chargers) and THREE different cords.  Nothing works.  My wife's iphone (also a 4S) charges just fine.
    Help, please.

Given what you've tried/done, sounds like your battery is ready to take a hike. Make an appointment at an Apple store to confirm.

  • My ipod shuffle will connect to itunes on computer but will not fully charge and will not play songs

My Ipod shuffle was washed in a washing machine but dried completely. Now it will connect to my itunes on my computer but will not completely charge or play songs. Can anyone tell me if this is a lost cause and I should buy a new one or is there hope that I can fix this.

Moisture will cause short circuits, so the battery is being affected.  The audio output is also affected.  You really can't tell if it is completely dry, on the inside.  So, it's possible the current condition will improve if it is left alone to dry out for while longer.  It is also possible that moisture (and short circuits) caused permanent damage.
Since it is recognized in iTunes, you can try doing a Restore (from the shuffle's Summary or Settings tab).
There is nothing else you can do (actively) to fix it, so if you want to have a usable shuffle now, you'll need to get a new one.  You can leave this one alone for a month or so (in a dry well-ventilated location), and try it again.  If it works, you'll have a new shuffle and a backup.

  • New iPhone says not fully charged

I just got my iPhone yesterday and charged it overnight. When I went to get it this morning, the battery picture says that it's mostly charged but not all the way (80 or 90 percent). Any thoughts on what to do or why this is?

maybe it is not good to leave it left charging after it is FULLY charged, that will cause an overcharge, and maybe that is what causing the problem!!
am not an expert and that's only what i think about!!
make the phone go off by itself when no battery left, then charge it during the day till it shows that the battery is fully charged!!

  • IPhone 4 not fully charging.

No matter how long I charge my iPhone, it won't fully charge. I charge it every night while I sleep, for at least 8 hours. Whenever I look at it in the morning, it varies how much it has charged by the morning. Sometimes it will charge to 95% and other times it will only charge to 53% and I have to unplug and replug it in order for it to charge more. I'm margin via the wall charger given with the iPhone 4. Has anyone has this problem ? Do I have a defect In my phone or could it be the charger?

There are several things you can try to fix it. Try in this order:
    1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
    3) Try a different cable and charging block.
    4) Restore via itunes.
If none of these work, take it to the apple store for testing and corrective action. Make sure you take your charging cable and block. You can make an appointment on line at: www.apple.com/retail. Search for your local store and there, you can make an on-line appointment.
    Hope this helps.....

  • IPhone will not sync/charge

Starting 2 days ago, my iPhone will seldom show up in iTunes, or even charge, and occasionally when I sync it a dialog box appears and states that my iPhone is disconnected. I then restarted my iMac, still not working. I checked my usb cables and they were all connected(iphone connected directly to iMac, no hub). I went into iSync and cleared the sync history and still nothing. So then I decided to see if it was my iPhone or my iMac, I connected my wife's iPhone and my iPod and they both connected right away and synced fine. As I stated, sometimes the iPhone will connect right away, and then later it may not connect at all, and if it does, it may take a minute or so. Also, I connected the iPhone to another charger in the house that is not connected to the iMac and the iPhone started charging immediately. Any help would be appreciated. FYI...I have not did a restore as of yet on the iPhone and would like to avoid this if possible. Thanks

I'm afraid a restore is the next step to troubleshoot it. If that does not work, it may be an intermittent hardware issue. If that's the case, Apple will most likely replace the phone for you.

  • New shuffle will not fully charge. green light never comes on

can leave my shuffle docked all day, never fully charges till the green light comes on. only amber light. its not my computer or usb cable or my settings as my sons nano charges just fine thru the usb. this shuffle is 5 days old.
    [Edited by host.]

I agree with you sir....same problem with me....my 2nd shuffle is a week old.....I have never ever seen a steady green or an orange light even after 20 hours of continuous charging though an USB 2.0 port on a Win XP Pro desktop PC....All I see is a blinking orange....I have tried following the doc that was suggested to you....reseting it five times......nothing works......contacted apple chat support.....they ran me through the same steps.....does not work....trying a different port and a different computer does not help either....I go to the local apple-authorized dealer from where I bought the shuffle....they have look at me as if I just spoke some fluent Chinese!!...they have absolutely no idea of what I am talking about....they are very ignorant...I am extremely disappointed.....showing them the apple support pages drew the reaction "Oh my god...what are these pages all about...why do they even exist?"......I have done a better job at looking at a solution....but so far I have not been able to find a solution to this problem.......Can someone offer a solution!!!!!!!...........
I am just waiting to discharge it completely and then check it for the last time before I take it back to the store....

  • After installing IOS 7.3 my updates stay on the update list and  my iiPad will not fully charge after turning my iPad off and leaving it plugged in all night. It only charges 79%.

Why do my recent app updates stay on the update page after updating?
Why won't my iPad take a full charge after installing IOS7.3?

Having the updated apps stay on the Update page in the App Store app is a new feature. It is especially usefu to those that have auto app update turned on. You then have a record of the recently updated apps, the new features they have and when they were updated.
Are you charging your iPad with the wall charger that came with it or by some other means. The wall charger is the best way to charge the iPad. If it is failing to fully charge a reset might help. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • IPhone 3GS will not fully charge.

I left my iPhone on TV's iPod dock overnight and it charged to 70% and stopped. Each attempt to charge results in it charging up to a % lower than the previous stoping % and stoping at that %. My iPhone doesn't recognize any charging sources after it reaches that %. Can I do anything to fix this?

Try recalibrating your battery meter: Use the phone until it shuts off on it's own, then plug it into a wall charger until the meter reads 100%.

  • IPhone will not indicate charging status until powered off or reset

When I plug my iPhone 4S into either a wall charger (via USB connector) or an iHome music dock, the battery indicator does not update to reflect that the phone is plugged in and that the battery is being charged.  However, if I power off the phone or perform a reset (simultaneously holding down the power and home buttons) and restart the iPhone, the battery indicator updates to show that the phone is plugged in and charging is occurring.
Is there a fix, or is replacement in order?
I did not notice this being an issue until I plugged the phone into the iHome dock for the first time a few days ago and tried to charge the phone via the wall charger later that day.

I like your answer, and normally I never power my phone off.  But it seems like I was having battery issues yesterday (percentage dropping pretty quickly for not even using phone or running apps or data).  So I wanted to power the phone off.  It's also supposed to charge the battery faster when the phone is powered off.  That's the only reason.
Still hoping for more answers or suggestions before I have to place a call to Apple.
