My iPhone will not play music, and says it's connected to a dock when it's not. Help?
My iPhone will not play music. Whenever I try to play music through the speakers on my iPhone it won't let me adjust the volume (like it's connected to a dock) and when I do connect it to a dock, the music plays through the iPhone speakers. Also I've tried just listening to my music through earphones and it plays for around 6 seconds then it goes back to like it's connected to a dock. Help? I've tried turning it off and on, restarting it and even restoring it and nothing's worked.
It says this when not connected to the dock. His dock is an ihome which isn't an official Apple dock. I think my next step is to take the thing in to an Apple store.

We were able to fix our machine! I just could not make sense of the error message, so we were trying non-Microsoft, non-Apple solutions.
Our Solution: Install MalWareBytes, and run a Quick Scan.
Even thought both Microsoft anti-virus and Defender were running on our Windows 8 machine, MalWareBytes found about 100 problems. As I looked over the types of problem and locations, I found several that referenced the exact directory referenced in this message. The machine had to be restarted for MalWareBytes to complete the cleaning, but iTunes installed afterwards with no problems.

Hi, my iPhone 4S will be playing music or nothing and it will randomly stop! I doesn't even show the volume bar. It goes right into

Unless and until is has been, Apple will not do anything, beyond the basic troubleshooting listed above. -
Ipod says it's connected to a dock when its not. No sound.
My son's ipod touch says its connected to a dock connector when it's not. It won't play music and there is no sound on games. It has 5.1 installed. It's been restored and reset multiple times. Any suggestions?

That is a baseband error. Has your phone ever been illegitimately unlocked? If so, that problem happens. If you haven't jailbroken/unlocked, visit your local Genius Bar.

All of my albums are super long because there are duplicates of each song. Plus in my memory it says that I have 5 gb left and that i have 8gb of pictures when I only have 200. I already did a soft and hard reset and it keeps on happening. Help!

Are you using the HD feature if you are taking photos? If yes, HD photos are using more space on your phone, try to use the default settings for the photo quality. -
Stops Playing Music and Goes to Home Screen
I have had THREE 32GB iTouch. I will be listening to music and all of the sudden it will stop playing music and go to the homescreen. The store the I bought it at says that this is not common but I have to think it is considering I have had THREE of them. Does anyone know why this might be happening or what I can do to fix it?

No, not until you manually enable FaceTime in settings:
Setting > FaceTime > ON -
Shuffle will only play music while charging?
Found my shuffle from a long time ago, it seems to work fine when I connected to Itune
Then I found out that It will only play music when it is charging even though the back light is green indicating the battery is full.
The green light on the front will also flash when I press play, but there is no response (no music came on).
Anyone experienced this before?

the left earphone at all (Ive tried 3 pairs, its not
the phones)..
My shuffle was purchase december sometime but I dont
think I registered it when I installed Itunes.
Still have recept if that helps?

My iPhone 4s has been replaced at least 4 times within a year and nobody at the genius bar seems to know what's wrong but every time I plugy phone into my cable that connects my iPhone to the stero in my car and when I disconnect it, my iPhone think its in dock mode and will not play music or sounds with our being plugged into a dock. However it will occasionally make sounds when a text comes in but that's about it. I really don't know why this happens or how to fix it, HELP!!

hi, my brand new iphone 4 will not play music through my music app but it will play videos through youtube and will play the sounds throught my games and will play text tones and facetime ect. what is wrong?
At least I'm not the only one with the issue. I was looking it up so see if others had the same problem and found a bunch of posts about it. I'm assuming it's not the phone then, it's the software. Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it??? I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!
