I have tried restarting my pc and my iphone but this didn't help. My iphone is connecting to the computer and it is showing up in my pc but it will not show up in the itunes. I'm not sure what else to do hWhen I connect my IPhone to my Pc the internal storage from control panel show up then I don't know what to do there, then when i open the itunes the summary is missing, when i went to device to sync musi etc the sync button both in the iphone & itunes is grey out, I don't what to do I already try everything I re unistalled it several times and installed it, the usb works well so what should i do guys pleaseeeeeeee help it's emergency please and thanks. The usb work fine when i connect it to the windows 8 nothing happen it's like i did not connect it but there is a tone that mean i am connected I don't know what to. Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver Software.
Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

I just charged my iPhone on my Windows 7 computer, then my girlfriend came and took the cord I used. I grabbed two cords that were in bad condition because I wanted to sync my phone with iTunes. It did not sync with the computer or iTunes.
I then found a cord that is in perfect condition, checked if it worked on a wall jack -- it did.
I then plugged it in to the same USB port and neither the computer, phone or iTunes reacted in any way. Same for every other port. All of my USB ports currently work with everything else.
Help.

When I open iTunes my iPhone 4S will not show up as a device. I have tried the advice provided by Apple. I have gone through the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant. That gave no solutions. I have tried the other solutions offered by Apple. I think that I have possibly identified the problem. As far as I know the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not installed on my computer. I have tried to install it but when I do I receive an error message. I repeat the entire error message in the following paragraph. The message appears in a dialogue box with the name: "Update Driver Software - iPhone".
"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. Access is denied. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
I cannot find a solution to this problem on Apple's website. How can I get this driver installed?

Most likely the phone is locked to a carrier that you haven't tried yet.

Hi just wondering how to sync my ipod touch using itunes - when the ipod will not show up as a device. I am having trouble with the ipod as it is displaying the incorrect date, will not access my email etc. However when I go to sync it (thinking this would help) it does not even show upin itunes. For the other problem go to Settings>General>International and make sure the calendar is set to Gregorian. The reset time and date. That may resolve the mail problem

How come I can't sync by wi-fi? My iPhone doesn't show up as a Device in iTunes unless it's connected by USB cable. "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" is checked in iTunes. (I can sync ONLY by USB cable--ironic because I won't upgrade to Mavericks until it allows USB local syncing.) What am I missing?

Is your iPhone plugged in to a charger? I believe that is a requirement for WiFi sync.

Maybe you're referring to the fact that iCloud is the sync mechanism for Contacts and Calendars now. If not, I don't understand your comment.

It looks like you may have to reinstall itunes.
There are multiple things you should uninstall (and in a certain order) according to apple.
Also, even thought your music and itunes library information should not be affected in the uninstall, I would strongly recomend backing it up. Go to where you keep your music files and make sure you back up everything in the folders "itunes" and "itunes music".
The directions for the reinstall are here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 They include what to uninstall and in what order. This is for itunes 9 and earlier, but I think it is the same for itunes 10.

When I plug my iPhone 5 into my Macbook Pro, the device begins charging. ITunes and iPhoto both load up instantly as well, and my iPhone appears within iTunes. However, I would like to view the files of my iPhone directly like I have in the past, but the phone will not show up anywhere else as a device. The device will not show up anywhere on Finder, nor on the desktop. I have my settings to where devices should show up on my desktop or Finder, but the iPhone is nowhere to be found.
In addition, when I try to sync my phone within iTunes, it begins syncing and gets all the way to step 5/5, but then it just goes on indefinitely and never actually finishes syncing.
The main problem I would like to fix is to be able to locate my device on my computer but I would also very much appreciate information on how to fix the syncing problem.
I am running the iOS 7 on my iPhone and I have the latest software for the Mac's operating system as well. I have not yet tried uninstalling iTunes and I would like to avoid doing so unless that is the only option left.

You cannot view files on iPhone using the Mac.
Everything goes through Mac iTunes.

Just click Sync button again in Mac iTunes with your iPhone connected and selected.
