my iphone will not switch on despite connecting it to the charger. It switched itself off while i was uploading a video to facebook and has been completly unresponsive ever since. Any help or advice greatly appreciated, thanks
try a hard reset
press power button and homer button together for 10 secs or till apple logo appears, release keys as soon as u see the apple logo

My phone did the same thing a few hours ago and I too went into panic mode. I called and was told how to do the "hard reset" by holding down the on/off button and the home button. That did enable me to get it turned on however now I cannot get it to stay connected to the cellular network. It will connect for a few minutes but nothing consistent. It has been extremely frustrating. It seems to be a hardware issue (or maybe software since I did update to iOS 5) more so than a cellular provider issue. Reason I say that is because I have not had any connectivity issues prior to this; it was only after the whole phone shuts itself off that it started.
Now, what the tech told me, and it made sense, was that I need to close all my open apps and turn the phone off more often than what I have been. That will help clear out the temporary memory. The phone might have just bogged down due to excessive memory usage and then shut itself off. -

If it isn't responding to any of those steps it might prove difficult to extract data from the phone.
So again your best bet may be the Apple Store, they would be able to help retrieve it I expect. -

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

After upgrading to ios6 my iphone will not open .xls files in emails with the default viewer. Is there a fix for this? The same emailed .xls files still open on my ipad using ios5 while viewing email like they did on my iphone prior to upgrading. I have no special software like numbers or anything else installed on either device. Just using the default viewer provided by apple for viewing email.
The attachment is an .xls excel 97-2003 spreadsheet. I viewed the file in the email and did not edit it with any software. I can forward the file to anyone that is may want to check it out to see if they can help me. I was wondering if there was some way of forcing another ios6 install on my phone and maybe that would solve it.
Is there anyone out there that is viewing .xls files in email using ios6 w/o any other software installed like numbers or any other add ons? I am not upgrading my ipad from ios5 to ios6 so I can still continue to view the emails on my ipad. Is there an email viewer .xls plug-in that will be availablle in the next ios6 update? -

Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...
If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first... -
HELP NEEDED!! Recently upgraded my ipad air to the new update, charged it over night, now it will not come on? i plug in the charger but comes up the normal charging sign but still no life in it? Seems as though theres either a problem it charging or starting up. Had the ipad for about a year and a month or 2.. what can i do to source the problem?

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Mail on my iphone will not send any messages. I have followed the Apple instructions and still it won't work, even after resetting my iphone. My email provider is BT.
To Avoid Relaying:
If you are sending an email from, say, [email protected], but the return address is [email protected], that is relaying (you are using y.com's servers to send an email where the email "originates" from b.com). Many servers don't allow relaying to prevent spamming.
To make this work go into the email account settings, tap the account "button" that has your email address, go to the Advanced section in "Mail" if there is one, then go to "Outgoing Mail Server", tap it, and then tap "Primary Server", and in the Outgoing Mail Server enter your user name and password. It may say optional, but you need this.
Not all services provide this and the sequence of buttons I describe above may not be exactly the same for each address (look around if different). If you can't set the user name and password, then that email service does not provide a way to get around relaying. -
It will not recognise sound and if I take it off the charger, it immediately switches off. I've installed iOS8 previously but nothing is working. Please help!!
