My iPhone Will Not Sync Since I Got My Laptop Back From Repair

I wanted to mention first that my laptop was repaired by a friend who is very well versed in all types of computer software and operating systems. I have Windows 7 and downloaded the most resent update of iTunes. I have been downloading different software today, including iTunes. Everything was working perfectly until I tried to sync my iPhone. I was using my mothers laptop, and I authorized it. There was no problem with syncing my iPhone on her laptop. After I did all the necessary actions I started to prepare to sync. I received a message that told me " *myiphonename* could not be synced because the sync session failed to start". I received the same warning when I tried to sync with iCloud as well. There was the option to "erase and sync" my iPhone, I chose to take this action because iTunes would not recognize my iPhone or my laptop. I am using the same laptop but do to the repairs the name I chose for my laptop has been erased. According to iTunes I have a new laptop. I also chose to deauthorize all the devices that were connected to my iTunes account, and then reauthorized this laptop using the instructions that are listed on the iTunes website. I also downloaded and ran iCloud Control Panel, just to be clear that wasn't an issue. After all these actions, I still cannot sync my iPhone. Since it came back to me without any apple software installed, I don't see the need to uninstall and then reinstall. I am open to ideas of what to do next. Thanks in advance!

  • My iPhone will not sync with my new PC laptop.

I recently bought a PC laptop with Windows 7 OS.  I transferred my backed-up Outlook contacts. notes, etc. and then synced my iPhone with my new PC. However the iPhone did not sync. I now have 4 contacts folders and I am wondering if ths is the problem. Previously I had no problem syncing with my old PC (windows Vista OS) which had only 1 folder, and I am wondering if this is the problem. I tried going to Add-Ons but I was not sure what to do. I have tried every combination with my iPhone and my sync menus but to no avail. I use my iPhone for business and find Oulook a powerful tool, but now my iPhone is useless without being able to sync with Outlook. Any suggestions? Thank You

  • Ipad and iphone will not sync with a new Lenovo laptop

My iphone and ipad synced contacts with a wire flawlessly until I changed to a new PC.  I work for Oracle so I cannot config to use iCloud.  I checked the Library Persistent ID on the new laptop and it is the same as the old one.  Do I need to wipe my devices and start over?

Syncing to iCloud has nothing to do with who your employer is. That's just a silly and unintelligent statement.
Move all your data from the old computer to the new computer then sync the device or setup iCloud syncing.

  • Just got my iPad and when syncing photos will only sync recent photos taken on iPhone - will not sync any photos from my albums or events despite selecting all events

Just got my iPad and when syncing photos will only sync recent photos taken on iPhone - will not sync any photos from my albums or events despite selecting all events or even when i select specific events or albums.

What is the file name of the video(s) you want to sync?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • My Iphone will not sync with my itunes after I had to change my user and pass on my pc.  How can I fix this problem?

I had to reset my username and password on my computer because I must have hit a wrong key when changing password.  Anyway I made a new admin user on my pc and now my iphone will not sync all the way with my itunes.  I flashes a message on the screen saying "you do not have the proper privileges" and stops the sync.  All of my contacts are gone and all of my google calander is wiped clean.  I just want my Iphone to sync now so that I can add contacts again.  What can I do?  Thank you for your time.

    bogdan0,
Tried that but did not work.  Thank you for the reply.  However, I did find the correct thing to do though so wanted to share.
Since on my computer I had to create a new admin account,  I had to go into the shortcut properties of Itunes.  Then hit Compatibility Tab.  Had to check Run as Admin.
After hitting Change settings for all users it worked just fine.

My iphone will not sync to itunes. It will connect to the computer but will not show up anywhere in itunes. PLEASE HELP!!

    Hey there Kellee,
It sounds like the device drivers for your iPhone are working in Windows, but the phone is not showing in iTunes. You should be able to get that showing again with the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Start with these three steps, and there are more in the article if you need them.
    1. Update iTunes
Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. In iTunes, select "Check for updates" in the Help menu.
    2. Check the USB cable
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might support only charging those products (and not transmitting data) or they might work only with the product with which they were sold. Using one of these cables to sync could cause issues. If you are using a third-party case, such as an extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.
    3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
iOS devices require Apple Mobile Device Support, which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
Windows XP: Click Start and choose Control Panel. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click Start and choose Control Panel. Click "Uninstall a program" (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click "Programs and Features"). Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type Control Panel, and press Return. Click "Uninstall a program". Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
If Apple Mobile Device Support is not listed, remove iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support, and then reinstall iTunes. Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below:
    Reinstall iTunes for Windows XP
Reinstall iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
If after reinstalling iTunes Apple Mobile Device Support is still not installed, follow steps in Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

I followed the instructions in those 2 articles. Still not able to see the device in ITunes. I reinstalled the latest iTunes and all updates to my iMac (Mac OSX ver 10.6.8). I tried 3 different USB Cables in different USB ports. Rebooting both the Iphone and IMac. Still nothing seems to be working. I searched the discussion boards and I see other people with the same problem but they seem to run into the same problems finding a solution. I dont understand what happened because this was working properly up until 2 days ago. Do you have any more suggestions?

  • My iPhone will not sync to my iTunes

OK, my iphone will not sync with my itunes. My phone is updated to iOS 7.0.4  and my itunes is updated to the 11.1.3 or whatever it is. I had over 1000 songs on my phone. When I hooked it up to sync some more music it deleted over 400 songs that I did not delete. They just disappeared when I hooked it up. How can  I get my music back and have it sync  to my laptop?

I  just played all of my music couple hours ago and now its only down to 500 songs!!!

  • My iPhone will not sync apps to my computer.

Must be something I am doing wrong. My iPhone will not sync apps to my computer.

Be sure that your computer is authorized for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the apps in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer, and that you have checked to Sync Apps on the Apps tab of your iTunes sync settings and have checked each of the apps you want synced.
