  • Will sync everything, but music

My 4s wont sync my music. I tired everything ! restored my phone, started it as a new phone, backed up and restored backup, and will not sync all my music it will do steps 1-4 but when it starts copying music it starts, to copy 3 songs and stop for a few seconds and then atuomactically it say "cancelling sync" and i've tried to sync my music on an old ipod nano and it will finish the process, and synced all my music. This is a new 4s just got it in the mail and updated to iOS 7 and restored to my last backup. In my 4s i can listen to 5 songs out of 238. the other songs are greyed out and has a circle with a square next to it. and i click on it and it turned back to how it was. is there anything else i can do to fix this, please & thank you.

  • New Iphone 4 syncs everything BUT my music and audio books when I sync?

    Hi
I bought a new iphone 4 to replace my 3gs. None of my music or audiobooks that show on itunes on my computer will sync with the new phone. I had them all on my old iphone. My new iphone is recognized when I sync. Ideas?

As with others I have lost all my contacts since the recent update. I have tried to backup but it didn't work (much as I expected as the backup was done after the update). So I really don't know what to try next, if there is anythign to try next? I have checked iTunes and I have never had the sync Contacts box ticked and I have tried finding something on the computer itself, but this is where my technical skills fail me as I really don't know where to look or what to look for.
Have I lost all contacts and therefore need to input manually, or is there something left to try?
    Many thanks.

  • IPhone will sync @ work, but not @ home: same PC

My iphone (3GS) will readily sync with my work laptop at work, but only sync with my work laptop when I am home IF I am connected into my work's VPN. If I am not connected into the VPN at home, the iphone won't sync at home. Why?? How can I get it to sync at home (where all my music is stored on a home server) without connecting into the VPN? Fortunately, when I am connected into the VPN from home, my PC can access my home server, but it is still a pain to take the extra step to log into the VPN.
    Thanks.

I am also experincing Exchange connectivity issues after upgrading to ios 5.1.1.
Exchange access was working fine in ios 5.1.
Now, it will verify connection, but not transfer anthing to the iphone.
I have deleted the account, rebooted the iphone, and readded it many times to no avail.

  • Help! My new ipad will sync everything, but my music!

I just got a new ipad and I connected it to my PC and opened iTunes, it synced all my apps, my pictures, but it won't sync my music. I have tried clicking and unclicking. Adding one album or song at a time, but it won't work. My computer shows the music in gray with a dotted circle by it, but it won't begin to upload it to my ipad, and when I click on my music on my ipad, it shows an empty folder. Please help me, I'm so frustrated.

  • Sync Everything But Music?

I want to sync movies, tv shows, and podcasts with iTunes, but I want to manually manage my music. As far as I can tell, Music/Movies/TV shows are either all manual, or all synced -- is there a workaround for this? Please tell me I'm missing something!
    Thanks...!
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You are right, for music or videos, manually manage is either all on or all off.
However, in itunes 7 ther eare quite a few rules for auto sync. You movies you can sync all, all unwatched, 1 3 5 ot 10 most recent, or a particular play list. TV Shows has more settings. Music is more restricitive.

  • My iPad will sync everything but purchased movies and tv shows.

The message I get is that my computer is not authorised but when I go into store - authorize etc it tells me that my computer is already authorised.
Am I missing something? This has never been a problem before.

Oh alright -- I manage to resolve my own stupidity quite abruptly, actually.
Shortly after posting this, I annoying took another gander at iTunes Store settings. To my own idiocy, I must have unchecked "Show iTunes purchases in the cloud" at some point. In my defense, though, the availability of songs in iCloud threw me off quite a lot.
Ha ha -- anyways, if anyone else is having the same problem, check there.

  • New iphone says "sync complete" but doesn't download any music?

I have had iTunes and used it without incident with my iPod. Just bought an iphone today but when I went to sync with iTunes for the first time it prompted me to updated to latest version which I did. For some reason it seems to sync to my iphone, says "sync complete", but doesn't download anything from my library. Iphone still says "no content". First day home with iphone. Not real happy about it.
    Help please?

Make sure you have checked "Sync Music in the music pane when connected to iTunes.
Look at pages 13-15 in the User Guide available here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf

  • How do I set up iTunes on a new PC so that my iphone will sync without losing all data?

I have migrated all of my music to the new PC, but when I plug the iphone in to sync, it tries to erase everything and set up the iPhone as a new phone on that PC.
How can I make the move to a new PC without having to completely reset my iphone data?

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
If you have copied everything from the old computer to the new one, then sync al of the info to the iphone.

  • Why Win 7 64-bit pc says device added will sync momentarily, but no data has come from either my Win XPpro 32-bit pc nor either Android device (3 synced)?

All 3 existing/currently-used devices (Win XP pro 32-bit laptop, and 2 Android phones) are on Firefox 30 (latest version) and sync just fine; NEW laptop (a Win 7 64-bit laptop, HP pro650) says added, "Will Sync Momentarily" but no data transferred... Not a single bookmark, nor my theme or other configuration(s).
I realize, after finding hardware requirement, that 64-bit Win 7 allows Firefox to work fine and am using it right now (I downloaded v.30 Firefox as soon as I booted the brand new pc up today), it let me set up sync & everything, just never transferred any data...Almost impossibly time-consuming task to transfer the thousands of bookmarks & complete organization from my other laptop, and will not matter much if I cannot sync any new ones with it. I would hate to have to transfer everything into Chrome...
Am I out of luck with this 64-bit unit to sync at all until Firefox supports it in the future?
    Same night...Later that evening:
Well...Update Here: Tried Waterfox and it worked perfectly, got everything in from XP pro pc. SuperFast browsing too.
Granted it is apparently a v.28, I think. Doesn't really matter to me. Now I'm going to try to import both Android bookmarks, etc. Will post my success or failure later.

    Hi D.Dao,
In order to further investigate the issue on Firefox 30, could you please turn on logging:
    # Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
    # Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log

  • Hey - if I restore my iPhone will I lose the music I've purchased from it?

Hey - if I restore my iPhone will I lose the music I've purchased from it?

A restore will erase your iTunes media but you can re download iTunes purchases without being charged again.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
"With iTunes 10.3 and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.1"

Thanks for the reply. The Itunes trouble shooting in Itunes help. I don't get an error message, it just states can't see ipod like if it wasn't plugged in. I do get an error message on a few of the songs when sync that say error 50, and state that they can't be loaded to ipod. The weird thing is that I can load all of my libary except the latest 3 albums. They are in my libary but they won't load. I'm not sure but it seems like it started when the cloud came about from amazon which is where I buy most of my music.

  • My iphone will sync  WILL NOT sync the Calendar on Outlook. Outlook is just blank

My iPhone will sync all other details but it will NOT sync the Calendar with Outlook - this just began this week - driving me insane - I need to have the Calendar on the iPhone working 2 way with Outlook so tha I can print off my Calendar for end of year review. Nothing I do will make them cross sync. I have also installed the iCloud but even this will not sync the Calendar on the iPhone with Outlook - frustrated - Mayo Ireland

Try going into settings - mail - outlook account - then uncheck the sync for calendar - then sync it back and see if that resolves the issue.

  • When i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop

when i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop just one album without making settings changes?

The first ever Sync of 12,000 songs to an empty iPod will take a while, but it shouldn't take two days.
Once all 12,000 songs have been Synced to the iPod, subsequent changes to just one album will result in a very short Sync time. That Sync will include:
the change to that one album
play counts on iPod updated into your iTunes Library
Smart Playlists updated: some complex Smart Playlists are not always updated by the iPod but have to wait for a Sync with the Library.
housework - in other words, behind the scenes tasks that we don't need to see.
Those subsequent Syncs do not sync every single song every time.
So, stick with Syncing. If the first Sync of all your songs is taking too long, try syncing part of the Library (say one or two genres) the first time, a further part the second time and so on. After all, with a Library that large, manually managing the iPod will be a source of torture.
