My iphone won't connect to itunes or my computer!

For some reason when I updated to the new itunes my iphone 4 stopped connecting to my computer and itunes. I have tried restarting my computer and my iphone but nothing is working. I have tried plugging in different plugs thinking something with the cord but nothing! But when I try to connect my iphone my computer makes the sound as if it is connected but my phone is not in my computer and my iphone shows its not connected

Couple of quick questions on what does happen with your computer when you plug the phone in.
First - Does the computer show an auto play window when you plug the deivce in?  Basically asking to import pictures.
Second - Does the device charge on the computer?
Third - Laptop or desktop?
Fourth - Is the phone plugged into the closest USB port to the power supply on the computer?  These seem to be standard USB 2.0 ports (unless you have a really old or a really new computer).
Fifth - Did you uninstall all 6 pieces of iTunes or just the iTunes progam it's self?

  • How to disable an ipod touch that won't connect to itunes or the computer

I recently got an ipod touch that was reset before being given to me. It wouldn't connect to iTunes or the computer but would still charge in the USB port. I updated iTunes and tried doing a soft reset holding down home and sleep. Then I realized on the screen that says "connect to iTunes", on the top right it would say "iPod" and in the middle it would show a little lock symbol. I was told this ment it was disabled and that's why it wouldn't work. But how would I restore it or reset it if I cannot get passed the connect to itunes screen and it wont connect to the computer. PLEASE HELP

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • My iPod Touch won't connect to iTunes or my computer, and the "on this iPod" tab is gone out of the blue. I can't put any more music onto my iPod, and I can't erase anything off of it either! What can I do?

My iPod Touch is a 6.1.6
I got it as a gift a couple years ago, so I'm not sure exactly what generation it is. My iPod Touch will not connect to iTunes or my computer, and the "on this iPod" tab is also gone. I can't put anything new onto it and I can't take anything old off of it! This just happened recently as well, as it was working fine up until a couple months or so ago. What can I do?

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to iTunes on my computer

So, I plugged my iPhone 5 into my computer, and it would just state that it was a camera, but it wouldn't open up into iTunes. After hours of trying to do whatever I could think of, I still don't have it syncing.
I can at least get it to state that "An iPhone has been detcted but can not be identified properly," after I unplug the iPhone and the iTunes is no longer frozen.

  • Help iphone won't connect to iTunes [mac]

hello my iphone won't pop up on iTunes [mac] and windows but it still can charge please won't show up even when I try

You are probably running OS 10.4 or 10.5 on a PPC Mac.  No version of  iTunes higher than 10.6.3 is available for these older Macs.  I have the same problem, and while I can still use the PPC to sync my iPod, it can't be used to sync an iPhone 4 or higher.  The only solution, as I discovered after upgrading to the iPhone 4, is to buy a newer Mac.  I was able to get a 2006 MacBook running Lion for under $300, and that has been a lifesaver.

  • HELP, All of a sudden, my iPhone won't connect to iTunes although it shows up on the PC. What happened?

Up to a few days ago my iphone would auto open my itunes. All of a sudden, although the phone showes up as a device it does not connect to itunes anymore. No changes made to the PC as far as I know. HELP!

Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.
    Or try Cerbu's post here.

  • My iPad is disabled and won't connect to iTunes on any computer; I went to my iCloud and removed the iPad so it will erase all data when the iPad is connected to the internet (the original problem was a restrictions passcode we forgot)

Here is the order of what I did to my iPad:
    1.  A restrictions passcode was put on and we couldn't remember it.  Despite numerous attempts at righting this, I couldn't. The iPad would not sync with any iTunes on any computer, Mac or PC.
    2.  I put a, 'use passcode after one minute' passcode on it and deliberately put in 10 wrong passcodes so it would disable the iPad.  Now it still will not connect to any iTunes.
    3.  I connected to my iCloud account and removed the iPad from the cloud; it says it will erase all iPad data when it connects to the internet.  I am fine with that, I need to know what to do now, though. iPad says, 'Connect to iTunes,' but it won't.  Please help this amateur of all amateurs!!

  • I have a 4th generation iPod and it says iPod is disabled connect to iTunes, but it won't connect to iTunes or my computer. we've tried holding the power button and home button but nothing works. help please!!

I need to know how to rest my iPod when it won't conner to iTunes and says its disabled.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • IPhone won't connect to iTunes with Remote app

When I attempt to connect to my iTunes library using the Remote app on my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2), it tells me the password is incorrect even though I'm 100% positive it is (it's only four digits, not too hard to get right). I was able to connect my iPhone to iTunes up until I installed iOS 4.2 - I think.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Follow theses steps and see if it helps.
    * Open Finder and look for the iTunes in Applications folder
    * Move the folder and the iTunes icon to the Trash
    * Open Go and type Go to Folder.
    * Type /System/Library/Extensions and hit return.
    * Find AppleMobileDevice.kext and move it to the Trash.
    * Similarly move AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg file to the trash
    * Restart the computer
    * Reinstall iTunes and see if the iPhone is detected.

  • My iphone won't connect into itunes

So when i use a usb cord to connect my phone to my toshiba windows laptop the message asking to trust the computer keeps popping up on my phone. When i hit trust things go slightly back to normal, where my phone opens up the photo app on my computer and tries to import new photos. However instead of saying "Jessica's ipod" it now says "Apple Iphone" and Itunes no longer opens up and connects to my phone when i plug it into the computer, so i can sync things and back up, etc. This has only begun recently and it had been working fine since i got my laptop at the end of summer. I also have big cracks on the front and back glass of my phone and lots of damage, but this damage occured months and months ago and my phone was still connecting and working fine. Help is appreciated.
