My ipad2 has no sound and keeps crashing. I have restored to factory settings and it is still happening. What else can I try?

Make an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store. It seems you have a hardware problem.

  • Ios8 iphone won't power off

I updated to iOS 8 last night on my iPhone 5.  Now I have all kinds of problems.  The power button diesn't respond, so I can't power down.  I can't close an open app with the double tap and up swipe.  Some apps just freeze, like massaging.  Ffter a double tap to close an app (which I alredy said does not work), I can't get back to the home screen; I have to wait for maybe 5 or 10 seconds for it to go back on its own.  Mail doesn't download. What's going on?

    Hey ChrisFromMaryland,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing multiple issues with your iPhone 5. To completely isolate these issues, it may be best to backup and restore your device as new:

So basically if a iphone has a fault after the 1 year warranty period is over, there is nothing the consumer can do but purchase a new phone??
Pretty much. Except that Apple will replace it for a fixed fee that is far less than the cost of a new phone. In the US the replacement cost for an iPhone 4 is $149. It is comparable in the UK. Unless you can prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. A switch wearing out would probably be considered normal wear and tear, not a "fault".

The Find my iPhone service option is given to you when you first set up the device. If you just reset it, you may have been given that option. So, in other words, the service may have been enabled even if you didn't realize it. You can then go to www.icloud.com and click on Find my iPhone, and have it play a sound. Or, you can use the Find my iPhone app on your mom's iPhone, but the service would still need to be turned on on your iPod.
Unlike Compukid said, Apple will not assist in locating a lost device without the Find my iPhone service.
I found that out 2 years ago, it's just that I thought Apple might have changed that.

    Hello TJLapplesupportcom,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Please follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve this issue you're having with your iPhone.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

My iphone won't power up since yesterday morning. The back of it got a little wet on Saturday night but was working fine until yesterday. Any suggestions ?

It would help if you would clarify what " I have tried everything" means.
Have you tried restart, reset, restore?
    Page 34 of the manual:
"If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
    problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod screen illuminates but no image; iPod won't power off

iPod hard drive whirrs and screen illuminates, but no image (text or other) appears. iPod won't power off. iPod is recognized by iTunes only when in disk mode. Multiple restores were useless in restoring the screen function. Tools such as Disk Utility and Disk Warrior verified the directories were satisfactory. Can't locate a hardware diagnostic tool that can diagnose an iPod; and because the screen is malfunctioning, I can't run the iPod's built-in diagnostic routines.
Any solutions, or is this iPod destined for the repair shop?

If your iPod will not power off, unplug it from any power supply and wait for it to run the battery down completely. Then it will power off simply because there is not enough power to keep it running. (It may take 24 hours to do this.) Once this has happened, plug the iPod back into your computer. After about 30 minutes, you should see the "Please wait, very low battery" message. After a while longer, the iPod will have enough power and should reset itself. If not, re-post, but see below.
At the bottom of your post you state that you have a 30GB video iPod. In that case, if you need to re-post, it would be better in the 5th generation iPod forum, (either 5th generation or 5th gen late - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 for more information) as there will be posts from owners of the same model as you have, and with the same problems.

I cant download anything including Updates, when i try to download a black box appears saying in 4 different languages that i have to power off the laptop using the button, and it freezes, so i have no option but to power off. Please HELP

Well, at least it's good that there are no hardware issues - that's a relief and one problem area that you can check off.
OK, so let's summarize so I can get a clear picture of what's going on. If you try to download something from your web browser, what happens? What if you try to download a small utility such as "EasyFind" from the App Store? Or is the problem specifically linked to downloading updates?
I'm just trying to get a feel for if anything really means anything?
Usually what you download from, say, a website, goes into your Downloads folder. It's the default folder for things like that. Apps from the App Store are downloaded to your Applications folder. And software updates are generally, I believe, held in a temporary folder so that they can be installed (in many cases) when you're asked to restart.
It could be something as simple as repairing permissions on your start-up disk. You're running Snow Leopard, right? (That's what your profile says.) Try opening Disk Utility from your Utilities folder, selecting your boot disk and try verifying permissions. If you come up with some errors, try repairing permissions. After that, go ahead and verify your boot disk - you won't be able to repair it at this point, but at least you can see if you have any errors.
Let me know about the anything and get back to me after you've verified and repaired permissions and verified your boot drive.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • HT5323 power shows 38% the iphone will  be power off

From one month ago, I found out that once my iphone shows has around 30-38% power, if I want to keep on using my iphone, I have to charge it , otherwise it will power off immediately. Why? Because usually iphone should be power off when iphone shows only lower than 5% power.  Is it becuase of the system is IOS.7.0.4? Or just because ihpone can only use 1 year? My iphone's age is less than 2 years old! It is iphone 4s.
By the way, why all other people's discussion's all to my email even I setted No!

let it power down completely. dont plug it in until it shuts off on its own. then plug it in and let it charge to %100 before u unplug it. that should help with the %38 percent part
if not then reset all settings (settings>general>reset>reset all settings). that should clear the cache data for it and fix that.
