My iphone wont back up to itunes

Hi - i've been trying to back up my iphone (4) to iTunes for an embarassingly long time, I just really have not had a chance to deal with getting help for it.
When I sync, it does not back up even though I choose the option box to do so.
With this new version of iTunes (which i LOATHE), I have checked where it says Automatically Back Up
then the options are
iCloud
This computer
I have been forced to just choose to back it up to the computer because no matter what I do, whenever I choose to back up to iCloud, the field that says "date last backed up to iCloud" never changes. Its been saying something like November 30th since ummm...November 30th l
I've tried everything I can think of & a few things that I couldnt. I'm completely out of ideas!
I know there is a way to get the phone to start a backup over wifi but I have not been able to figure that out....not sure if thats what I want, anyhow.
Could anyone help? Would greatly appreciate it. You will be rewarded with good karma!

Sometimes connecting the iPhone up via cable and letting it sync.
Then Scroll down to the options section and uncheck the Sync with Wifi Click Apply
Then re check Sync with Wifi and Apply
You may also try a manual backup by clicking the button to the right of where you selected the method of backup.
If this works try disconnecting the phone and Clicking the manual update again to see if it works
I am assuming you have icloud setup this shoul work fingers crossed

Seems like ios6 isn't any good for any of their devices. I have an iPhone 4 and recently updated to ios6 and have had all the wifi problems and apps getting hung up on load screens. Restore is your best bet and downgrade if you can back to ios 5.1. If restore doesn't help with a fresh install of ios6 then call every Apple support number you can find and be heard like the 1,000s of other people like us with ios6 problems demanding support. There doesn't seem to be any quick fixes for ios6 other than an update from Apple.

Do a backup of your 4, either to the cloud or your computer, depending on how you usually do this.
If you backed up your 4 to the computer, connect the new phone to the computer at this point, if you restored it to the cloud, do NOT connect it to the computer (or you might get an old backup by mistake). Just connect it to a charger.
When you first power up your new phone, it will ask you whether you want do configure it as a new phone or to restore it from a backup. Select "from a backup". The prodedure is slightly different for computer and iCloud backups, but you'll be able to figure it out.
This will restore all your apps, settings, and camera roll. Then you can either sync it to the computer or redownload your music and movies (depending on how you manage these things).
Once this is done, you can delete everything you don't want from the old phone.

when i plug my pihone into my laptop ( windows running on windows 8) it wont show up or connect into itunes, i can do the exaxt same thing with my ipod and it will connect and sync with my itunes library so i am confused to what the problem is. can anyonw help?

My iPad and iPhone wont connect to my iTunes Library.

My iPad Air and iPhone 5s wont connect to my iTunes Library on my Macbook Pro.
Both will see the library and try to connect but as it reaches 1/4 of the way it stops.
If I turn off my iTunes Match on both devices, the full library loads on the iPhone only. I can go into the library and it will play. Does iTunes Match have to be turned off?
On the iPad, it shows the that shared library is connected to but it wont allow me to move off that screen. It freezes. I push the home button and it closes. I can reopen but it is no longer connected to the library. I cannot get further than this.
My Apple TV works perfectly connected to the same library.
I dont have more than 5000 songs in my library or more than 10 movies and 300 + episodes of TV series.
Any ideas to what could be causing the issue with the iPad?

Forgot to mention. Have tried obvious things like rbooting Mac and iPhone and iPad with no success

Sure thing bro, no problem. I assume your running Windows 7 or 8? So for me I had to update the iphone drivers.
First, open Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound then devices and printers look for your apple iphone under the "Unspecified Devices" tab, Right click on it, choose properties, after that you'll choose the hardware tab to the right of the box that opens. When you click on hardware, choose properties again toward the bottom. Then you'll choose settings, after that you should see the Driver tab, 2nd one. Click that and choose update driver, then browse my computer for driver software, after that you'll want to navigate to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and click Ok. The driver should update and all should be good after that. Matter of fact, here is the article i used. Good luck dude!!

Iphone 4s wont back up to itunes

Basically, i got a new iphone 4s and i plugged it into itunes for the first time and it said "step 2 of 4: backing up" but the bar didn't move for a good hour.. then i tried to cancel it and itunes crashed so i used task manager to close it. Opened it again and it kept crashing so i gave up. Today i've done the same thing but it hasn't crashed, it says backing up again but the bar still isnt moving! I want to sync my music to my phone anyone else have this? Please help

IPhone wont turn on and iTune's won't recognize it.

I have had my iPhone since December 2011 and never had any problems. Recently it started to shut off and take very long amount of times to turn back on. Around April 11th i cracked my phone and yesterday night (Apr. 23) around 7 p.m. it shut off and has still not turned back on. i have tried to reset it through iTunes but it won't connect. It wont go into recovery mode & i tried the Power/Home button thing and still nothing. Please help I am desperate.

ITunes lost ... how to sync iPhone data back to blank iTunes ..

Hello Everyone,
Previous iTunes was lost and now have formatted and reinstalled Windows7 x64. iPhone (10.5.1) is currently backed up, via the new iTunes, to iCloud. And to the new computer as well. No other devices or computers involved.
How do I perform syncing operations without losing everything that's on my iPhone? Open to any solutions.

Hi, I have an iPhone 5S running IOS 7.0.4 and I'm considering to upgrade the iOS to 8.1.2. My question is, when iTunes backs up my iPhone does it also backup the application data such as twitter drafts (draft of tweets that you haven't yet sent)? I cannot update my iPhone over the air as I want to backup all the data with iTunes, restore my iPhone as a new one and then restore my backup into the newly updated iPhone. Will my Application data be restored into my iPhone that is running the newly updated iOS? for example will the draft of tweets be restored as well? Or are the apps going to be clean with no data in it?

Whether or not the information in third party apps is back up depends on the app. My experience has been that it is, especially if you use an encrypted back up (remember your password as Apple cannot help you recover it). Twitter should be storing data, such as drafts on its own servers. Verify that the information is saved by looging into your twitter account through a web browser. Or just send the drafts before you update.
It's always a good idea to run a back up before a major update. However, there's no particular need to restore the device as new, update and restore from the back up. Sounds as if you're making extra work for yourself. Back up (just in case) then update.
