My Iphone wont let me download song purchases from iTunes or my purchased on my phone
ive tried many times on my phone and on my computer and it will not let me download my music! i have even turned manage manually music and videos from itunes and it still seems to be an issue. When i try on my phone it says "error download retry" and never seems to work. im always on wi-fi and i have tried off wifi but still is a problem!!! please help i would hate not to be able to acess all this music ive put my money into! thanks!!!
First no support can be provided for hacked devices or beta software here.
Second, if the same problem exists in iTunes on the computer, how does one come to the illogical conclusion that the issue is with the iPhone?

Delete and redownload the ones that don't work if doing so is free in your country.

You can create a new Apple ID without using a credit card for download free apps by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. Follow it exactly as writtien. Note that you have to download and try to install a free app and then create the ID.

i used the "erase free space " option in disk utility and now my imac says the disk is full and wont let me download songs. please help!
You could try repairing permissions with disk utility, I don't think you will have the option to repair the drive but you could verify it.
This may help you delete the files that DU made but did not remove when erasing the free space.

When you get your SL disk it will not have the iLife applications, that would have been on the second install disk that should have been with the computer. A search of the forums will confirm or deny this.
As to whether a clean install will cure your problem, i.e. partition the HDD and install I would expect it to be yes, but there are no guarantees it is an old machine. -
I have had my frist account for a very long time. I was the first in the family to an apple product. After awhile my family joined in on my account. So instead of having to deal with all their music getting on my ipod/iphone I created a new account. Well, I recently updated my iphone and for some reason it wouldnt let me listen to my music. It would just skip around and never play anything. So I ended up deleting it all and tyring to start over. I have all the music from my first account on it but now it wont let me put my music from my second account. It says " This Device is already associated with an apple ID" " If you download past purchases with you Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days." then it gives me the option to "cancle" or "transfer". I dont know what to do after that. I am scared to click transfer because I dont want to lose any of my music I had just loaded on. Help?
It is not telling you to update your iphone, it is telling you that you need to update itunes on your computer.

okay so i used a visa gift card i had gotten as a payment method to use to download music on itunes and then finally it ran out of money. then later when i tried to download an app it said "sign in required" so i signed in then it said my payment method isnt working but i have no other meathod and i cant cancel the one i have so i tried again and it keeps saying the same thing.. it wont let me download anything.. what do i do?
You probably have a past due balance in the iTunes store. If so, you'll have to enter a new payment type, or use an iTunes gift card to resolve the outstanding balance before you can proceed to download free apps, or install app updates.

my iphone 4 isnt letting me download apps from app store, it goes onto the homepage and says 'waiting' then 2 minutes later it disapears!!!!
Are you trying to do it on your computer or your phone? Has it worked on this computer or phone before? If so, when did this start? Does it happen every time you try to download something now? Are you able to connect to the internet using other applications? Are you running any security software? What version of iPhone and software are you using? Have you tried connecting to Wifi instead of 3G or vice versa? Do you get any specific error messages?

I bought a few songs and music videos from iTunes, then all of a sudden it wouldn't play and would just skip to the next song. With the music videos it would do the same. Also, this message would show up " The Requested URL could not be found on this server" What does that exactly mean? And what do I need to do to play my music/videos again?

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. Can anyone help resolve this problem? Thanks!
here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -

Songs and ringtones are different types of music files. The file extension of Songs is mp4 and that of ringtones is mp4r. They are not interchangeable. You need to download the ringtone you want or convert the file with a ringtone creator app of which they are many for free in the App Store.
