My iphone wont make sounds any more

My iphone wont make sounds any more , when i play music or videos i cant hear a thing .. tried resetting it and formatting it but still wont work !
it rings and the speaker works while calling but other than that all audio-related functions are off .

I would do a hard restart and then make sure you flip the Vibrate botton on and off on the side. If that does work i would reset to factory settings. If that does not work i would take it to a apple store, Good luck

My IPhone wont play sound. Works fine in a dock, but once I pull it out it stops playing. It wont play music or ring. It will only vibrate.
I know the speakers work because it'll play for two seconds then stop playing once out of dock.

Your only hope is to place your phone in to DFU mode and restore it using iTunes (if iTunes allows you to).
Search in Google "Force iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the instructions precisely.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

My iPhone wont play any sound without headphones in the volume
Buttons work but won't change sound my speaker won't play any sound at all

i had the same problem and used a very small screwdriver, inserted carefully into the heaphone socket, to very gently push the microswitch at the bottom of the socket. i did this a couple of times and suddenly the sound works again.
i think the button down there can get stuck and cause this problem, or maybe it was just a fluke... try it anyway- it worked for me!

System preferences shot after Security Update 2006-008 - no sound any more

All sorts of strange problems after running the 2006-008 security update, yet only affecting one my two MacMini:
System Preferences completely "shot", with the Date&Time item/icon looking very odd.
The little flag for language/keyboard setting and date/time did not show any more in the top menu bar -- basically everything left side of the blue Spotlight magnifying glass icon was gone.
Also Safari much more prone to quit.
Managed to delete some prefs and cached stuff and to replace the System Preferences application with the one from the other (working ok) Mac.
(I wish such components were available on the web!)
However: Currently I get no sound whatsoever. When I check the option to have the little speaker symbol displayed in the menu bar it shows. But as soon as I click it once, it vanishes from the menu bar.
In the Sound window, I have Volume set to full, yet everything is greyed out, "Sound off" is checked without my doing, while "Display sound volume in the menu bar" unchecks itself everytime(!)
And, very odd: While resetting PRAM and the fsck-routine working ok (no problems found) and disk utility claiming to have repaired all permissions, I can not run a reset of Open Firmware/nvram with the O-F-Apple-Alt key combination (I'm using an original Apple USB Keyboard for this, since I'm aware that my 3rd party keyboards from Logitech and Microsoft often refuse to perform such kind of "low level" tasks).

while it is widely known that the folks from redmond do release software before all the bugs are removed, i was not aware before that apple is following the same approach: using their customers as guinea pigs when it comes to updates. there is plenty of reports on MacFixIt about all sorts of troubles with previous apple os updates.

HT4915 What to do with itunes match when your ipad/iphone does not have any more internal storage available?

I have just subscribed to itunes match. But now my ipad/iphone memory is full because every songs played from icloud is downloaded in the devise. If I clean the memory from setting/storage/music I cannot play any more the songs already played even if they are still in the music library. I need help please.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You can delete any unwanted tunes you have downloaded from iTunes match by swiping them and tapping the delete button on your device. You can also delete this way to delete whole albums or artists.

Had same problem. After seeing another post, I disabled an app I was running called "onavo". Did the trick!! If you don't have it, I'd suggest it could be something similar? This was an app that reduced data usage in the background...

Iphone wont make calls

i did the update like 3 or 4 days ago and the phone has been working fine up till now... everytime i try to make a call it acts like its trying to do something but then the call fails every time and i have full service to....internet is working and so is itunes but i cant make calls. is there anything i can do?

i just found out that i can make calls while my iphone is docked but it still wont make calls when its undocked!

PC Lost power, wont power up any more

2 days ago I was using my computer as normal when all of a sudden it turned off and won't turn on any more. Pressing the power button does absolutley nothing. No fans, no Hdd, no nothing. I thought it's most likley the psu or motherboard but im not sure which.
Through further investigation I have discovered that:
1. The lan lights are allways on at the back of the computer, but its no longer detected by my router (it usually is, even when off)
2. Upon unplugging the pc from the mains and plugging it back in again, my webcam (which is usb powered) makes it's 'i have power' noise.
3. Upon unplugging the pc from the mains and pluggin it back in again, my memory (which has led lights to show the load) light up for a few seconds).
These 3 facts make me lean towards a mobo issue. I've tried removing everything non essential from the pc and botting up again but still nothing at all. I've also reset the cmos but no joy there either.
Can you help with the problem?

my suggesiton is... disassemble everything, including take the motherboard out from your casing. Try to boot the motherboard on your desk, put in CPU and RAM, let it be the most basic system. Check whether can it turn on by the power switch button? If not, try with other CPU and PSU. If still can't, check your motherboard thoroughly for any shorting components, or burning parts. That's hard to do but it's mostly you have a dead board.

It's as simple as this:
Open iTunes.
Click iTunes Store on the left side of the screen.
Look on the left side - click Purchased (it has a NEW graphic next to it)
You will see everything you have every purchased from iTunes. You can redownload any of it.

TS1368 itunes store makes music suggestions to me but it only plays 9 seconds of the song. my itunes is updated to current version. Dont know how to fix it. guess i wont be purchasing any more music suggestions.
