My iphone working only in loud speaker mode?? help required

I'm facing this wierd problem where I can't hear what the other person is speaking unless I turn it into speaker mode. Can someone help me solve this problem..

Have you taken the plastic screen cover off the iPhone, if it's new, as it covers the ear speaker?
If you've noticed this happening whenever you use you earphones, then try unplugging them several to many times to resolve the problem. Though if you say that your speaker is working, it's more likely to be the first problem, i.e. the screen cover blocking the earpiece.

I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s. Usually the solution is one of the following:
1- If your volume indicator says headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.

Stuck in loud speaker mode

I have an ipod nano 4th generation that is just over a year old. I have had no problems up to now. A few weeks ago i went to turn my ipod on and play my music through my headphones and it was almost like the ipod would not register that there were headphones plugged into my ipod and it was playing on loudspeaker mode. I dont ever use my ipod in loud speaker mode and had not used it for a couple of days when i turned it on and experienced this problem. Any suggestions?

First, if you have a speaker then you have a 5th Generation Nano, not a 4th generation.
Get a flashlight and inspect the headphone jack and make sure there is not an obstruction, lint, dirt, etc., blocking the connection. Clean it out if necessary.
If there is no obstruction, try a different set of headphones. If the problem persists you have a damaged headphone jack and will need to get it serviced.

That worked. Mute button had turned the volume off. I was so frustrated, that I was about to throw that phone on a wall and get a new one (grudgingly). This helped a lot. Thanks stedman1.

Speaker on LG Octane not working when not in speaker mode

When I get a call I have to take it in speaker mode because I can't hear anything with the phone closed. When I open it and it's in speakerphone mode I can hear the call. I've tried cleaning the phone many times, doesn't help.

Have you recently used a headset or plugged in earphones? There were issues with the phone still thinking the headset was plugged in - try plugging it in again and removing it carefully - or perhaps a battery pull to reset it and it will go back to non-headset mode.

Volvo s80 2008 model works with iPhone 5 only on hands free mode. Should it not also play my music through Bluetooth connection. Even my 4 year old Tom Tom does that.

Iphone is only recognized in restore mode

What would make iTunes for windows 7 recognize iPhone in recovery mode, but not to proceeded with restore, stopping on the "snow cane".
Completely not recognize restored iPhone, not even by windows auto play. iTunes diagnostics runs with everything fine, just like device was never connected.
Current security either uninstalled or disabled. Restore times out with error 1611. There seem to be remnants of Kaspersky, but no access, Just some files with that name.

Thank you Tim, but I did figure out. I disabled MSE and uninstalled old mcAfee. Like I mentioned before there is no problem to connect to Graceland and Apple secure servers in diagnostics. Itunes diagnostics pass with flying colors except the part where it does not see a device. I realize that you think you are speaking to noob, but please humor me and give me an idea " why iphone is not recognized by itself, but recognized in recovery mode".
BTW i know that iphone is not a problem - it is refurb replacement and restores perfectly fine on Mac with ios 10.5. I also know that cable is not a problem, I tried two. I also know when I look at the desktop I see two or three empty folders with name Kaspersky(hence mentioning them). As an additional detail I can see amds started and restarted it. I can see itunes helper running. I can see AMDS driver in device manager, but only when phone is in recovery. I do realize that something wrong with Windows. I also am not the owner of that computer.
Any fresh ideas respectfully, dear Tim?

Volume control buttons don't work for iTunes in speaker mode

Using onboard speakers (no headset on my iPhone 4S, the speaker buttons are not working. In fact the slider ICON in missing in playing music as well as the ringer ICON that comes up when I press the buttons.
I can go into settings, Sounds and manually move the slider for Ringer and Alerts, with "Change with Buttons" set "on, I can then press the volumn buttons on the side and see the slider move up and down (right and left). But as soon as I leave that screen and press either volumn up or down on the side, the Ringer ICON comes up but the slider part is gone.
In this case, there is no sound out of the speakers. However "Siri" works fine.
And in phone mode, I can use speakerphone and hear audio out of the speakers. (In fact in phone mode, speakers or headset works fine).
All other apps the speakers are inop and the volum control buttons are inop.
It's like it's in perminent "mute".

I got out my air compressor and literally blew the S* out of the docking port. I did dock the iPhone to my car dock port as a test, played music through the car. Then undocked and the volume control and speaker sounds all restored.
Not 100% it was cleaning the docking port or that I unwedged the software by docking into some different device.

Hi,
My main sequence file has a list of steps, all sequence type. I specify a post action on each one to jump to end if the seq fails and if a flag is set:
FileGlobals.StopOnFail == True && RunState.SequenceFailed == True
I found out that it only works if I run my test in 'Test UUTs' mode. If I select 'Run Selected tests using Single Pass', then, it igonre this.
Is this how it supposed to be?
How can i fix it?

you are correct that you do not need a previous step; it is sufficient if the step itself fails and sets the RunState.SequenceFailed flag.
On my machine, this test also works as expected so i asume that either your step itself does not set the RunState.SequenceFailed flag or you have another issue in your Run Selected Steps using Single Pass execution....

WaitFor() works only when in debugging mode!

Hi, im having a problem with making my function waits for a process to end while in run mode!
The function always run and exists while the process is still running...
I checked it in debugging mode and it worked just fine, but i cant seem to be able to make it work in the run mode!
Any hints???

BUT, the stderr stream and stdout streams have a limited buffer and block when this buffer becomes full. So, if the stdout stream produces more than a buffer full then it blocks until more room is avaialable and the process cannot terminate so the error stream cannot be closed so the code to empty stdout cannot run to make room in the buffer to put more output. Phew!
If you change the order of emptying the two streams then you have a simillar effect.
The only way I know of dealing with this is to empty both streams at the same time so you need two threads. You can use the default thread for one but you MUST use another thread for the other. Since I use stdout, stderr and stdin I use 3 threads!
