My iPhone 4S was doing the same thing. The sound would come and go on the speaker but it would work fine with a headset. Read something on here that suggested the phone "thought" it has a headset connected. Fixed the issue by quickly plugging and unplugging the headset a few times. Blew in the hole and shook it to ensure nothing was stuck in there.
Seems it worked.

It does not sound like a battery problem.
Try a couple of things:
1. Reset the SMC

2. Reset (if you can) the PRAM

If that does not help, delete the mouse in system preferences, turn it off, restart, and turn the mouse back on.

I cannot access my Hotmail account with Safari on my MacBookAir but I can access it on my Mac/Safari and also from my PCs. Has anyone experienced the same? Does anyone know a fix for this?
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

ITouch EQ Problem - Anyone experienced the same?
Hi there everyone
I received my iTouch last Tuesday and this is my first ipod. Put around a 100 cds on it and then set the EQ to Bass Boost. I like my bass high!
On bass heavy tracks and some drum heavy tracks I experienced very distorted sound (like an underwater "rumble"). Turn the EQ to R&B, Dance and Pop and the same thing. Turn the EQ off and everything is ok! Unfortunately the sound is then too "thin" for my ears.
Took the unit back to the Apple store in London's Regent Street and the assistants agreed with me and swapped the unit over (minus the engraving)! Tried the second one and exactly the same sound problem. Returned to the store again and armed with the source CD's the guys in the shop opened another iTouch and burnt the CD's to a mac book and then transferred them to the new itouch - same problem. They then transferred the songs to a "normal" iPod and the sound was perfect.
Anyone else experienced this and does anyone know what may cause this problem - software / firmware?
I received a full refund but this is such an amazing piece of technology that I would like to get an iTouch without this problem
Any help or advice gratefully receivedI read somewhere recently that the new ipods do have a different sound chip than the previous generation. From personal experience, i only use the bass boost on tracks with abnormaly low bass. Once again personal preference. If it was a manual eq say on your home stereo, and you set the bass all the way up, chances are you would hear distorted bass from your speakers as the track you were listening to already had alot of bass. Correct? If I'm listening to a country song and I have the eq setting with enhanced bass, it sounds fine. If I switch to rap, it distorts. I know from experience to change the eq based on what I'm listening to. This has been true for all of my ipods prior to the touch also. I don't really blame apple. That is why there is a variety of eq's provided. I wouldn't hold my breath for a software update as I think it is more user preference. Forget what name is assigned to the eq and give them all a listen. If none are good enough, you may need to choose another product. Hope this helps a little .

Message and no sounds - anyone with the same problem?

since a few days I have always the same message (usually after I switched on the iPhone or after the iPhone was in the docking station and I took it out of the docking station):
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone. Would you like to turn into airplane modus to reduce audio interference? You would not be able to make or receive calls."
After I pushed the button "NO" all the sounds are gone and I'm not able to hear iPod or YouTube without headphones. And people can't hear me very good, when I'm talking to them.
During the day the iPhone suddenly turns on, then I will get the above-mentioned message, I have to choose between yes or no and then the iPhone turns off.
I don't know what to do and why I have this message since a few days. I did a reset with iTunes several times now, but I have still the same problem.

KatrinSounds like either the 30pin connector at bottom (where you plug in) is either failing (has an issue of sorts) or could just be dirty. Clean it up a bit (remove any lint) and see if it continues. If still an issue, make Appt at AppleStore or call 1-800-MY-IPHONE to have it fixed.

In Motion 5 I created generators that included a drop zone. The objective it to bring them into Final Cut and insert into the drop zone a clip of the same duration.
In FCX 10.0.6 I used to bring a clip to the time line and re size it to the exact duration of my generator. Then I bring the generator to the time line and selected the generator, click in the drop zone of the published parameters menu and select this clip I wanted to insert. The result was the generator using my clip and the clip playing during all the duration of the generator with the generator effect.
Now, with 10.0.7 I can’t make that work. When I click in the clip I would like to import into the drop zone, the result is that there’s just a frozen image of the clip (in the same place I clicked with the mouse)
Is this a known problem of 10.0.7. It used to work well in 10.0.6
Thanks for your help !I can't see that the update would have any effect on custom generators as they are housed separately from FCP X.
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.

Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
1. Ensure that only FCP X is selected.
2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones . . . instantly. -
The local retailer Sharaf DG needs 10 days to check the issue, not helpful at all. I spent more money to buy it from the retailer instead of the online store, and when I called Apple support they said they couldn't help me as I bought the phone from the retailer and not online. I'm extremely disappointed as this is my first iOS device and I've been told about how the iPhone is bulletproof. Guess i got a lemon.
Ok Guys, got the device back. Service centre said they replaced the Display and touch panel. I would have preferred a new phone, but whatever. I just hope this does it and the problem is fixed. @Robo, I've also got a new nano-SIM from the carrier, so hopefully now anything that can cause the phone to go crazy, is fixed.

When using Airplay mirroring between macbook pro and apple tv I cannot see video, only hear the audio. Worked fine before. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?
I have the exact same problem. The picture is very slow, incredibly pixelated... and renders my apple tv virtually useless until this problem gets resolved. I currently have an apple tv 3, ipad retina, iphone 4s, and a 2011 macbook air. I use the apple tv almost exclusively for mirrored content. And this is definitely causing quite a problem for me.
I had been able to use this for presentations as well- but until this problem gets resolved - I may have to look for a backup solution/product. And I imagine that I'm not alone in this... Please get this resolved quickly! -
I updated to Yosemite and everything worked great for a few days until earlier. My mac was plugged to my TV via HDMI wen everything hanged. I did a hard reset and the screen was just black during startup. There were the startup sounds but no images from the screen. it did have images at one point where it gave me options to reset my password. I did a couple of hard reboots and pressed Alt/Option or Cmd+Option+P+R based on previous posts. Didnt know which w but I was able to access my account and log in. My big problem right now is that my Mac became super slow. Even at the simple commands/clicks
My mac was okay up until a few hours ago. If anyone knows how to fix this, would really appreciate your help. Thank you!

N91 HARDRIVE UNAVAILABLE?Anyone have the same prob...
After havin my nokia n91 for about 4 weeks, all of a sudden all the music has dissapeared and its telling me the hard drive isnt available?it wont let me format it or anything. anyone got any idea to what to do?ive updated the firmware but it still keeps losing contact with the hard drive on the fone
From some Tips I found:
13) "HDD unavailable" etc - In older versions of sw it was possible to get this and even with 2.xx it can happen (more rare). Make sure the battery cover is on fully (and its magnet is not damaged - check the little box in the battery cover with a paper clip for the magnet). Make sure USB cable is not connected. Make sure you are not running any applications that are using the HDD. Sometimes 3rd party apps it seems have been found to leave a file open on the HDD even when closed and then this can happen - you may have to uninstall that app. Some apps screw up there databases and it look slike a HDD issue. Finally if none of this works then you may have to do a HDD format, or a SW update/refresh or hard reset to clean out any offending applications.

Go to europe.nokia.com http://europe.nokia.com/A4158095 and select - Get support then from the list of phones select Nokia N91 there select User guides and from the list of languages select English. Then download the PDF. It has data about backing up and restoring (ie when to use PC suite and when no to), SW updates (goes through how to prepare for a sw update ), Themes and other TIPs. Alot of the tips from before seem to be in here. Also copying contacts to HDD has issues with 1.xx sw on GSM only China units (from Blogs), not on WCDMA units. Note WDRM rights will not be saved with a backup-restore (MSFT rules) but usually when you buy a song you get multiple synchs so it is usually not a problems.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
What version of iOS are the devices really running? If it's an iPad 4, it must be running iOS 6 or 6.0.1. -

My iWork apps used to lag and that's very annoying because i need to close the apps then wait for the data to be downloaded again.
