  • My iPhone4 doesn't want to charge or turn on

Last week my phone suddenly turned off when I took it off the charger. I had to shake it so it can turn, sometimes it doesn't even turn on. It doesn't charge fully, it usually stops at 40% and it usually only stays on when it's plugged in a charger.

These are features of faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for free quick battery diagnostic testing.

    Hi thenicegirl07,
It sounds like your Click Wheel iPod is showing a sad iPod icon. If it will go into Disk Mode you may be able to restore it, take a look at the article and quote below for more information about the alert and possible resolutions.
iPod displays a sad iPod icon
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1373
    Resolution
In most cases, the sad iPod icon indicates a hardware issue. If you are able to force iPod into Disk Mode, then it may not be a hardware issue, and you should try to restore your iPod with the latest software.
If you cannot force your iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod is in need of service. Set up an iPod Service Request or make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Retail Store. To make a reservation:
    Go to http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/.
    Choose an Apple Store location.
Click the Reserve link under Genius Bar.
    Choose iPod.
Select your desired reservation date and time.

  • My Iphone doesn't want to charge, please help?

I have 3g Iphone, and I had a bit battery problem last few days, but now it just doesn't want to charge. Can you please help me, to repair it?

Reboot your computer and the iPhone for starters.
If you're on a Windows PC, connect the iPhone and open your Device Manager. To do that, click your Start Menu and do a search for Device Manager. Or if you're on Windows 8, open the Charms Menu on the right side and do the search from there. Once in the Device Manager, go down to Portable Devices and click the small arrow to open the sub-menu. One should say Apple iPhone. Right click on that and try to Update Driver Software. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall the driver, unplug the phone, then plug it back in to get it to reinstall the driver. That might take care of it.
Are you able to get a hold of a different Lightning cable just to be sure it's not your cable? I've seen instances where these cables get bent or twisted, especially at the Lightning connector end, and the wire inside the sheathing breaks even though the outside looks fine.

    Hi Dubbster,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your MacBook Pro is not booting when you have the Mac OS X Install DVD inserted. Do you get any boot options when you hold down the Option key during startup? Please reference the following article and let me know if you need further assistance.

  • Ipod doesn't want to charge on Bose

Okay so I've had my Bose Sounddock since January and up until now I've had no problems, but now my ipod just won't charge on it, or any other kind of speaker dock system. It says its charging but the minute i take it off it says low battery and dies. It does however charge through the mains, and once its charged it does hold its battery, so it's not like the battery has had it, but its just annoying having to wait for it charge up all the time. I just want to figure out why it won't charge on the Bose???

Is your Mains charger putting out +5V or +12V (it should say on the plastic case of it)? And does the iPod charge ok off a computer USB port?
If the mains is +5V output and the iPod charges off the USB port, then what is likely happening is your iPods dock connector is damaged so that the Firewire power pins are no longer connecting internally (or maybe even broken off).
5th Gen iPods get power two ways. Either through the USB power pins or the Firewire power pins. Even though these iPods no longer sync with Firewire, they still can charge off Firewire. Bose uses the Firewire power pins, as do many docking radios, to feed +12V (or higher) voltage to the iPod. USB charging is off +5V.
So if your iPod charges on +5V or USB but not on the radio dock, you likely have problems with the dock connector on the iPod and those specific Firewire pins or something internal to the iPod with respect to the Firewire power inputs.

  • When battery is low, doesn't want to charge?

So, sometimes, and it seems to happen more when the battery is already below 20 or 10%, I put it on the charger over night, and the next morning it's displaying the battery on the screen still at red - (I guess when things are going well during a recharge, the screen shuts off)
At first I thought it was a cheap retractable synch cord I was using, but this has happened twice now with the official white cradle as well - and I took extra care to make sure it was properly seated before I went to sleep.
Luckily, putting it on a Altec-Lansing pair of speakers lets it charge most of the way in a hurry... but what's going on with just putting a low battery phone on the cradle??

Is your cradle plugged in to AC power or a USB port? If the charge is very low on the phone, it needs to be plugged in to an AC power source to charge.

  • Help my iPhone 4 doesn't want to charge unless it's off

I have iPhone 4 only charges if it's off, when I have it on and I put it to charge when it's on and it doesn't charge what do I do

    Hello there, Laurawashere.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great, in-depth steps for troubleshooting charging issues with your iOS device:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • IPhone 4 Ran Out of Battery and Doesn't want to charge

So basically, today i looked up at my iPhone 4 and noticed it was at 6% battery or something like that. I left it and looked at it again after an hour or so and it was off. I thought that it ran out of battery so it was okay.
I came back home, got the charger and plugged in. The iPhone did not show any charging sign (you know, the red icon that shows that the battery is empty, nor the red sign that shows that the iPhone is charging but not yet "up").
There is nothing on the screen. I tried a forced restart and similar but it doesn't show anything.
I have no idea what i can do about it, so let me know if you have any?
    Thanks.

When you say, "Forced restart", do you mean holding the Home and Lock button together?  If not, try that.  If so, then sorry, I can't think of anything else.  You might need a trip to an Apple Store/Reseller, or call AppleCare (if you have it).

And I can't restore it because it doesn't recognize my iphone anymore.
I tried to pluged it with another cable and it doesn't charge!

Did you check the docking connector for any kind of debris or lint?
Did you try to use the adapter?
If you can charge it 10 min by  using the adapter the adapter,  try to connect in recovery mode after that. iOS: Unable to restore

  • My IPHONE4S doesn't want to turn off

I just had my iphone 4s for a week now. and I just realised that I couldn't turn the phone off. Everytime I tried to turn it off, the apple logo starts appearing and the phone is back on again. I don't get what is happening because I've tried restoring it, rebooting and restarting. None of that works so I am really confused right now.
And another weird thing is when I connected it to the usb cable which is connected to the laptop, and then try switching it off, it WORKS!
Has anyone else ever experience this before?
    Thank You.

Do a reset by holding the power and home button until the apple logo appears ignoring the slide to power off (no data loss).

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    - Try another cable
