My phone is in recovery mode and it is not fully backed up! HELP!

I had the same problem, Iphone4 would not turn on, when I connected it to Itunes it asked me to recover, including downloading new software and that I would loose all data (and the Itunes was up to date). There did not seem to be any alternative so I did try to restore to the original factory settings, but the downloaded software turned out to be incompatible with my Iphone and therefore was not installed -- fortunately!!!
Because when I then tried to simultaneusly press both the on/off button at the top, and the enter button at the bottom of the front screen -- holding them pressed until the Iphone responeded (in my case maybe about 10 seconds...) -- then suddenly the phone restarted - !!! and now works again 100%. And I lost nothing that was stored on the phone!! So this hard-boot worked, but I had to keep the buttons pressed for a long time (the first time I tried this it did not work, probably because I did not press them long enough).

I upgraded to 7.0.4 on my iphone 4s and now it isn't working and itunes states that it is in recovery mode - help - I don't want to do a factory restore!!!!
If you're phone is in recovery mode, then all your data is already wiped off. you'll need to proceed if you want to use your phone.
However after it is done recovering, you can restore back from your backp.
You do backup on a regular basis right?

My iPhone4 switched off yesterday morning (battery was nearly 90% at the time) and it won't switch back on. It's stuck in recovery mode and every plausible solution (home/power button combinations, reinstalling iTunes etc.) has been exhausted. I've tried charging it, resetting it etc. etc. and nothing has worked. The screen is just black. Nothing shows up no matter what I do. When I plug it in to sync (Makes no difference if I'm holding down the home button or not when I do so) with iTunes it says that it recognises an IPAD that is in recovery mode and asks do I want to restore the IPAD. No other details show up (serial shows as N/A) I've even uninstalled all Apple software on my PC, restarted Apple Mobile Device Manager and all that... Nothing. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with my phone. It seems my PC recognises my iPhone as an iPad. No amount of cable changing, USB port changing, reinstalling etc. helps.Can anybody offer me a solution? Please, I'm at my wits' end

My itunes is telling me, my iPhone4 is in recovery. When i go to restore it, it fails. My itunes is up to date and my initial intention was to just update my iphone. Anybody able to help?
If it's in recovery mode, you'll have to restore it. No choice.

That is typically indicates a hardware failure.
Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

IPhone4 stuck in Recovery Mode (iOS-5 update)
Hi Everyone,
I recently attempted to upgrade my new iPhone4 to IOS-5.However as usual, after the OS software download and subsequent installation / restorebegan, the iPhone jammed in recovery mode (the one with the iTunes logo andcable). Error-Code 1602.
This is not the first time this has happened; my 3Gsuffered the same fate twice during this dreaded iPhone-OS upgrade, while I hadto seek an iPhone specialist for repair. This is not an option at present.
The iPhone is recognised in Windows (Device Manager),just no longer in iTunes itself. ITunes does not recognise the iPhone in diagnosticseither.
I have tried thefollowing:
2x Uninstalled (in sequence):
- ITunes;
- Quick-time;
- Apple Software update;
- Apple Mobile Device support;
- Bonjour;
- Apple application support;
- Program files x86 (bonjour, Apple, iTunes, QuickTime);
- System 32 (Quick Time).
Restart. Downloaded iTunes 10.5, installed, noresult for iPhone.
I have attempted almost everything on the apple support pages without luck:
Disabled Firewall and anti-virus Security
Reinstalled device via Device Manager
Tried different USB ports
Changes USB cables
Please help me?

My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode, help?
A few hours ago, I tried updating my 5th generation iPod touch to iOS 8. It ran into an error and couldn't update, which left my iPod touch stuck in recovery mode with a screen showing a USB cord pointing to an iTunes symbol. I tried searching for ways to get my iPod out of recovery mode without restoring it to its factory settings, but after a couple hours of seeking, I decided I might as well just restore it. I clicked the restore button, and when it finished, it said that my iPod touch couldn't be restored either. Now, I have no clue what to do. May I have some help?

Hi everyone. I've tried every posisble solution from finding answers on here but nothing is working for me.
Now here's my story:
My iPhone4 is jailbroken and has been for a few months now with no problems. Yesterday I went to make a phone call and after the phone call I wasn't able to exit the screen with the 'Home' button, so I turned off my phone. I then turned it back on, entered my passcode, and then tried going into Instagram and it also wouldn't let me exit using the 'Home' button. So I decided to hook my iPhone up to my computer after finding someone having the same problem, and they said they just had to upgrade to the latest firmware. So I tried this today... hooked up my phone and iTunes popped up. I clicked to 'Restore' and once it downloaded everything it said it could not be restored because of 1013 error. My phone neded up going into recovery mode where the iTunes logo is on my iPhone screen. I tried exiting recovery mode by downloading the latest version of tinyumbrella but it wouldn't recognize my iPhone. My iPhone shows up with the serial number on tinyumbrella instead of "Kati's iPhone" and iTunes also won't recognize it. When I clicked "Exit Recovery" I then exited out of tinyumbrella and the apple icon showed up on my iPhone. I then tried opening iTunes and it went back to the iTunes screen on my phone. I tried clicking "restore" but it said my phone is in recovery mode and I need ot exit recovery mode. What do I do to exit recovery mode and get my phone working again? I'm on a PC, not a Mac. I"m freaking out that I may have totally broken my iPhone and will have to buy a new one Also, I'mpretty sure I'm running in 4.3.2, but I'm not sure.http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

How do i get my iphone4 out of recovery mode?
I attempted to update my iphone4 to the new update ios6 or whatever it is. It downloaded the new update and for some reason an error occurred and i had to restore it, so i thought yep okay righto. during the last stage of the restoring process ('restoring firmware') a popup comes up and says 'The iphone 'iphone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (-1).' So.. my iphone4 is stuck in recovery mode. I cant restore it to get it out of recovery mode.. So now it is just a complete brick.. Its been like this for 24hours and i have spent around 6 hours researching and playing around with it and i am now stumped, i spent an 1 on the phone to Apple and all they managed to solve was that there is a problem with the firmware. I have tried to restore it on another PC laptop and a Mac Desktop. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could please give me a soloution to fix this mess..

It sounds to me that your iPhone is already in recovery mode but when you connect it to iTunes the computer does not recognize it. If you have not already tried the steps in the following article to put the iPhone into into recovery mode, I would suggest that first. If the computer is not recognizing your iPhone when you go through the steps, be sure to follow the steps for Mac or steps for Windows link at the bottom of the article.

How come I can't get my iphone4 out of recovery mode?
I went to restore my phone today because it was having some issues. After the restore, itunes could not recognize the device! Now when i try to restore and update like it asks me to, i cant even get past the restoring process. It finishes restoring then im back to "itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode, restore and update to able to us with itunes" but i cant!! I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING. Please help!

1 week old iPhone4 stuck in Recovery mode loop
Hi there
today when I connected my ip4, iTunes asked me to download and install the latest iOS 4.0.2, after that it went into a recovery mode loop and I cant do muh more. I have so far tried to restore using 3 other pc´s, xp and Win7. Tried different USB cable, disable firewall/antivirus, but nothing helps. I am constantly getting an error 9, but I have seen error 2009 and 3194 as well (tried about 10 times so far).
Dont know what else to try
Thanks in advance for any feedback.I had same problem. When upgraded to 4.0.1 I had to take it to apple store to be reset. Tried everything. When it happened with 4.0.2 they gave me a new phone. Sadly I had to reload 30g of music/movie/app twice. Glad I have a better option if it happens next time.

IPhone4 stuck in recovery mode after iOS5 update
Hi guys,
hope someone will be able to help.
I bought a second hand iPhone 4 from ebay and all was well when recieved.
However I then tried to update to iOS 5 a few days ago and iTunes said "an unkown error occured (-1)" during the restore and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode.
I took the phone to a local apple store where a genius told me that the phone had had a "dodgy" repair in the past and so they were unwilling to work on it.
I have tried many methods to exit recovery mode but none have worked.
I will be happy to even stay on iOS4 forever as long as I get my phone back and workable.
FYI, before the update to iOS 5 all updates were succesful and never encountered a problem, the phone has never been jailbroke or hacked in any manor.

I tried to update my iPhone software (after successfully backing up to iCloud, and then successfully updating iTunes software) but got a 1604 error message. The phone is stuck in recovery mode, and all attempts to restore the phone have resulted in failure. I keep getting the same error message.
