Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, connect in recovery mode to your computer and restore, explained here:

David. Thank you very much. The problem was not with the canvas but rather the Viewer. But the solution was the same. Somehow, the Viewer window was re-set to Alpha. I changed it back to RGB.... and the picture is back. These issues are often very simple.... but they can drive you bats if you don't know the answer. Very grateful. Tim

I doubt that you can. Doesn't the Sound prefpane require you to select just one output device?

Not fully au fait with iCloud. I don't use it. But if you have done a backup to iCloud then this might help. This reply will refresh your post thereby giving others an opportunity to comment. I'm only guessing here since I don't use Facetime myself but I think it depends on the model number of the phone. iPhones sold by UAE operators have unique model numbers and these do not get the Facetime app installed at all. Even in India, if you update or do a clean reinstall, you still the UAE-branded OS.
Facetime is blocked because the voice and video goes over WiFi and this eats into the profits of the mobile operators. Most countries here in the Middle East block video and voice chatting over the Internet - not due to censorship - but because the government-owned operators here enjoy monopolies and want all video and voice to go over their networks for maximum revenue. I live in Oman where for example Skype is blocked simply because it is seen as a competitor to the government landline operator.

Double tap home button quickly in new row of icons at bottom, tap and hold your Message Icon until the Red Minus Sign appears, tap it to delete from background memory. Then slide all the icons to the right, all the way, see if the Lock Icon is present, if locked, unlock it. See if Message is better, if not, Reset iPhone, hold both home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let the iPhone restart itself, usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

Did you reset your iPad like this: Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.
*Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document : Use Adobe Reader
PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.

Connect the phone to iTunes on your computer, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup". This will save your data and settings.
Purchases can be transferred by choosing "transfer purchases".
After that import photos or videos to your computer.
You can use the backup again to restore the phone after it has been serviced.
