  • I can hear my incoming calls but the person on the other line can't hear me. How can I solve this problem?

It's been more than a week since I had this problem.
As I said I can mostly hear the person on the line but the person on the other line cannot hear my voice.
How can I fixed this problem? Do I have to go to the apple store? My warranty has expired and I can't get to the apple store easily becasue it's too far from where I live:(  Please help.

Does your iPhone say headphones when you adjust the volume, even when they are disconnected?
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6 times or restoring the iPhone.
If that doesn't do it, you can setup service for the iPhone online or have a Genius take a look at it.

  • Ringtones not working - Incoming call is alerted by only vibration

Is anyone else having a problem where the ringtones packed with the Iphone just won't work? When I receive calls, the only notification I get is vibration. The tones worked on the first day but have ceased to work. I've restarted the phone several times, used different ringtones, and experimented with settings- to no avail.
Any advice or similar experiences would be helpful.

I had this very same problem the day after I bought my iPhone. I tried every combination of on and off in the settings menu. Yes...I checked and rechecked the red mute switch. Nothing worked.
I took it to the apple store where I bought it, and even the genius could not get it to work.
The store manager promptly swapped out my phone with a new one.

  • I can't hear an incoming call, but they can hear me

I can make a call, and it connects but I can't hear the person I'm calling. They can hear me.  I figured out that I can hear only if I set the call on Speaker.

I have been told that the microphone is broken so will have to go to Apple to get it fixed! Explains the problem!

  • Problems hearing an incoming caller after update to ios7

Since I upgraded to the original ios7 update I cannot hear when speaking or hear the other person when speaking directly from headset - it is very muffled.  I can hear fine on bluetooth or with earphones - any advice

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Cannot display ID for incoming call - OS 10.3.1.1565

    Dear Sirs,
I did upgrade my Q10 Os to the newest 10.3.1.1565 and after this I could see anymore who is calling me.
i can see the number completely i.e.+39 335....... but who is calling.
I need to know who is calling as so doing I can decide if this is important or not.
    Could you help me?
    Thanks.
    Mike

How long ago did you update? It can take the phone a while to resyncronize everything and for caller id to work, as well as names associated with numbers in the call log and with text messages.

  • IPhone5 does not mute the incoming call when the earbuds are plugged in

How come? I expected the phone calls to ring in the earbuds, not in the phone itself.  How do I set up the phone so when I have the earbuds plugged in the phone doesn't ring in the middle of a meeting.

I have this exact problem, have you had any luck solving it Louise? I see that no one has replied so I was wondering if you ever solved the problem. If you did can you please respond back with what worked for you?

  • Can barely hear incoming call?

Can barely hear an incoming call.  Sounds very distant.  What can I do to resolve this?  Thanks

Dear Deborah, I just received my latest iPhone, iPhone 4S and I am experiencing a similar problem. For a hard-of-hearing person this problem might be too much. I have not reset my new phone yet but I am going to do so soon. I will see what happens.
Another question: How about those ringtones? The iPhone seems to reset itself to the default ringtone constantly eventhough I have put individual ringtones to my contacts. Any ideas how to solve this one?

  • Problem in incoming calls

My Xperia M4 Dual ringtone doesnt ring incoming calls. Speaker works fine when I listen music. And sim 1 keeps rejecting calls.
If there is anything Sony can do, please resolve.

Hi XperiaM4, welcome to the community!
I advise running a software repair on your handset as this is very likely to resolve the issue as it removes & re-installs the operating system of the device.
To do this you just need access to a computer with an internet connection.
You will need to download either PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.
Note: a software repair will delete all user data, to back up your phone:
    using PC Companion
    1. Go to Support to install PC Companion on a Windows computer.
    2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
    3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
    4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
(Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard).
    using Bridge for Mac
    1. Launch Bridge For MAC.
    2. Select "Back up your Xperia device".
    3. Select the data you wish to back up from your device (the windows can be expanded for more detail as below; then select "Next".
    4. The backup will now be in process, do not disconnect the phone while this runs.
Running the software repair on PC Companion:
    1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    2. Phone Software Update.
    3. Start.
    4. Repair Phone
    5. Continue
    6. Accept data removal
    7. Next
    8. Wait for prepare
    9. Select Phone
    10. Follow the connection steps
Running the software repair on Bridge for Mac:
    1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
    2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
    3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
    4. Select Continue on the following page.
    5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
    7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins
I do hope this helps, please keep us updated.

  • Cannot get ringtones to work on incoming calls

I cannot get ringtons on incoming calls to work on my new IPhone.
Have I overlooked a mute button, because I have no sound except when I try different ringtones?

I have tried that, but still no sound except when I choose tone. When I test by calling nothing.
I only bought phone a few days ago, and wondering if I have defective phone. Everything works except sound effects such as ringtones and keyboard sound.

  • I have no sound alerts on my iphone5. My software is up to date. I can hear on a call but I have no text alerts, no ringtones, nothing that involves sound! Everything was okay a few hours ago. I have no idea how this happened. Please help!!

I tried the compressed air, Qtip, etc... still nothing. Called Apple again.... and we did a complete factory reset from iTunes, wiping everything out... still no sound, which proves that it is a hardward problem, under warranty, I have to have phone replaced   No Apple repair centers within 300 miles of me! So... shipping phone off today. Bummer.

  • Iphone4 user, I  cannot hear incoming calls/text, please advise.

I cannot hear incoming calls/text,  however, I am able to make calls/text.
I did the sounds check (where it needs to be tested, and it works)
    Please advise.

When you toggle the switch it will display an icon of a bell either with a line through it or not. You can double check this by looking at the link below:
