If you are trying to activate an iOS device and it is asking you for a previous owners Apple ID and password you have encountered the Activation Lock. you must enter the previous owners Apple ID and passwor or contact the previous owner and ask them to erase the devoce and remove it from there Find My iPhone. if you purchased this devoce used, take it back to where you purchased it and ask them to clewr the devoce or request a refund. Without the original owner's Apple ID and password you will never be able to use the devoce and no one here can help you activate it.

If you migrated your MobileMe account before 1 August you should have signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it, and you would be able to see your calendars, bookmarks and emails on the iCloud website. Is this the case? Did you sign into iCloud with your @me.com address?
If you did not migrate your MobileMe account you can no longer do so.
If you did migrate, did you do so from a full MobileMe account or from a Family Pack sub-account? the latter did not get the complimentary storage (because their iDisks were only 5GB anyway).

I have the same problem. I changed my email address with itunes, & the icloud website knows it too. but the icloud on my iphone still has the old one & wont allow me to change it. Try a 2 finger swipe left or right to change screens. If that doesn't work go to System Preferences/Trackpad/More Gestures and set it up.

Thanks for your reply but problem not solved. If I have reached page 5 for example, I can not go back to the previous page 4. Instead it goes back to page 1 when I use the back track arrows, gestures or the back or forward commands!! The girl at my local Apple dealer says that it can't be done. How can I find out the previous service provider my device is still registered with?

When trying to create a BIS account, I received the error message that my device was already registered with a different service provider and that I would have to reregister it. The problem is that I bought it new from cordlessphoneworld.co.uk and it was supposedly "completely refurbished".
My Pearl 8100 is a BT phone, however BT confirmed to me that it was not registered with their network. The seller, cordlessphoneworld.co.uk, told me to contact BlackBerry support, and BB support told me to talk to my service provider (O2 UK) who has already told me I would have to get in touch with the previous service provider.
How can I get my BB released from its current BIS registration, or at least find out who it is registered with, in order to finally enjoy its full functionality and not just the regular phone stuff?

Theres a high chance it was set up with the original carrier that is was sold with.
To find this out you need to get the vendor id of the device.
Do this by holding down (all at the same time ) the ALT+CAP+H button..
Or
Whilst pressing down ALT, select E Then S then C then R
You should see a little page pop up with random info.
What you are looking for is the vendor ID. a three digit number.
Then I will post a list of all the vendors IDS at the end of this message as i can't remember the link..
Anyhow, find the carrier from the list and call them asking them to release the PIN..
IF... the prev user didn't register it with that carrier (which would mean you phone has possibly been used twice before) then you can call your current Carrier and ask them to escalate the call to RIM who will be able to tell...

Thanks for the info. I had not discovered the Security dialog under the Options. However, now that I have delivered the first version of the software and have more time to play around, I have discovered the Account Domain Manager under Tools->Security, and that seems to be what I need. In the image below, I used the Example entitled 'DSC Dynamic Alarm Update' (available in Example Finder). But first, I created a local domain called 'Skelly', and logged in as a user named 'zimmer'. When the alarm came in, you can see that the set user is no longer 'Nobody'. So now, all I need to do is modify my startup VI, to have each operator log in (using the DSC Security VIs). That way I will have a record of which operator adjusted the valves & pumps. ( I write all commands going to control devices to a text shared variable which I log. I also have checked the option to Generate an event upon value change.)
