My iPhones gives me a message that I don't have enough storage to backup. When I attempt to manage my storage it shows 1 backup for the phone I use and it's 5GB. I have transferred all my photos to my computer hoping it would create storage but no good.
My iPHone tells me I don't have enough iCLoud storage. When I manage my storage from Settings it shows 1 backup for my primary phone and it's 5GB. I understand that is what Apple provides for free and I could upgrade but I don't want to upgrade. I have transferred most all my photos to the computer and I have no music on my device. And this was several weeks ago and I have attempted to backup since hoping it would create a new backup but no good.
I have even went in the backup and turned off Camera Roll since it's the largest but still no good.
If you have any suggestions other than upgrade your storage plan please help.

Try deleting the old backup.
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device name and on the resulting screen, scroll down and tap on Delete Backup.

Everything works fine, excepting that when I attempt to open Photoshop 6, I am prompted for the serial number. Updated my Iphone 5 with the latest software. The phone was plugged in and on WIFI. It showed the update was installing and then the screen appeared with just a Apple insignia on it. Phone is locked up. Cannot turn on. Is there a reset or anything available to fix this issue. Thanks for any help.
Read one article here indicating the problem may be more pronounced if you're using WPA2 security rather than the older WEP.

It says its linked to an apple Id and to login with it but the person I got the phone from doesn't know it.
You have run into Activation Lock and you will not be able to activate that iPhone without clearing it. Why doesn't the person who gave you the phone know that information?

You can't delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from in and stop using it - but anything that you downloaded from the stores with it will remain tied to that account.
If you don't know the password for it then try this page to get it reset : http://iforgot.apple.com
If you also don't know your security answers, then if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

Photos in my from my iPhone have the same numbering as photos from my digital camera. They all go into iPhoto fine but when I backup to my ext hard drive it will only save one with the name IMG 1002 and I have two separate images both with that name. How do I get them all to save on my ext hard drive and hope do I prevent this numbering overlap in the future? I'm really hoping I don't have to go through and manually rename every single picture. Thanks.
How are you backing up the photos? The best way is to backup the library itself as that will preserve your organizational efforts as well as all metadata like keywords, titles, faces, places, books, etc.
You can use a backup application that does incremental backups. Thus only the first backup is a full one and subsequent backups just copy those files that are new or changed. I use Synk Pro. The lower cost version, Synk, will do the same job. Other similar apps can be found at MacUpdate.com.
OR: upload your camera to a folder on the Desktop. There you can rename the files to something that is more informative than just the file name. I use the date (international format) along with a brief desc: 2007-1-20-adian1stbday-001.jpg. File renaming apps can also be found at MacUpdate.com. Also you can give the folder an informatve name which will become the Event name when you import the folder of photos into iPhoto.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

Hi All, I recently bought a Mac Book Pro and transferred all my photos from my hard drive onto the Mac. I realised that there were some folders which didn't have the camera information embedded in the files and these files refuse to open on iPhoto. I know that the folders that have the problem were not transferred to the hard drive via a photo transfer application (I have a Canon camera) but I simply copied them out of the photo card and onto my old PC.
Is there some way I can open these pictures on my Mac? They work fine on a PC.Thanks for your reply.
The files don't open in preview either. In preview I get the error message 'The file "xxxx_xxx.jpg" could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize'. The folders with these un-openable pictures do not even get imported into iPhoto. When I try to import them I get an error message about the files being unreadable.
The color profile information on the un-openable files is not visible but I see that all the other files from my old drive are RGB. -
My macbook pro recently got swiped and I lost all my data, problem is, just before it was swiped I set up my new iphone 5 which transferred all my photos and music over which is no longer on the computer. What will happen to my phone if I plug it in?
I never used icloud before so there is no data to back up from. I just spoke to the apple store and they said that if I do plug it in, all the data will be swiped....is there a program I can use to transfer my data from my phone to computer without loosing it all ???

My PC sporadically recognizes my iPhone. occasionally it synchs on first try. More often it recognizes the iPhone and then gives an error message that it can't recognize it. Help!

I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. Hi, I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 7.0.4 and the phone keeps going of whenver battery level drops to 20% and it give the warning. It turns off immediately after I dismiss the warning message. I LOCKED THE PHONE AT 21% and I was able to play music to 4% which means there is no problem with the battery, this seems to be a programming error.
Earlier suggestion include that the battery has a dead cell but it wouldnt keep playing music for over 2 hours it it had a dead cell.My issue with IOS 7.1 and higher is my Bluetooth for the phone still works...no problem but the music does not work with bluetooth...I have an Acura TSX 2010...Acura said there are no incidents reported, but me...I just upgraded to IPhone 6 and still no good....as soon as i hit the AUX button it say USB...not bluetooth...ugh

I am using a Mac and have installed Adobe Reader for Mac, latest version. I cannot access the End User Licensing Agreement. I clicked on it and it gives me a message that I must launch Adobe, check that I agree, close and reopen. The problem is I can't find any way to launch Adobe because it appears nowhere on my launch pad, nor in my document files or on the control panel. Because of this, I cannot print bank statements nor can I get into my insurance companies billing department to make a payment. HELP!

Depends on what the source of the music is (iTunes purchases, ripped CDs, etc.), and whether you are syncing to iTunes on a computer. As for simply sharing music directly from the iPhone to the iPod, no, you cannot.

I have been able to upload videos to vimeo from FCPX in the past. However, now FC gives me a message that my password is incorrect. This is despite the fact that my password allows me to sign into the Vimeo website. I have reset my vimeo password, restarted final cut and restarted my computer. Any ideas?
Log in to Vimeo and change your password on the Vimeo site. Then update your FCPX settings for Vimeo to reflect the new password.
I think Vimeo required this in light of the Heartbleed hack. -
I just tried to update my iPhone 4 and it said it was successful, but now I have a message (USB icon - arrow- iTunes icon) that is frozen? I have turned off the phone, unplugged USB and reconnected and closed out of iTunes and back in. Any suggestions?
