Iphoto does not work properly after accidental power disconnect

I was working in iPhoto with a flash drive when the power cord became unplugged. When I plugged the cord back in, all the photos in my library vanished. I can still import from a camera/flash drive/disk but I can't put the photos in My Pictures file back in iPhoto, nor can I attach a recently imported photo to an outgoing email (using Safari).

Hopefully your library is valid - launch iPhoto while depressing the Option (alt) key and use teh select library to point to the location of the library

If an app doesn't respond to your input, or doesn't perform as expected, do the following, testing after each step:
Check for app updates.
Force the app to close.
Restart your device.
Update your iOS device.
Learn more about troubleshooting apps.
On Step 2, close all applicaitons that are open. On Step 3, if the restart doesn't help resolve the issue, you may also want to try the Reset step in that article as well.

IPhoto does not work properly in os mavericks

The Instant slideshow format only displays one slide and the sequence then terminates. Using "Select All" and playing the sequence causes the sequence to display in reverse order. Bizarrely any asssociated music plays the right way.
Even more curious, Slideshows proper play normally.

The USB ethernet adapter for the macbook air is not working. Cable unplugged. How can I fix this for the recent patch 10.7.2?

I have recently purchased an ethernet usb adapter for the MBA and after a month it is not working. Says cable unplugged.
Now I have tried it with 2 other connections on other computers that are working and still no response. Many reviews or fixes online mention something with a 10.5.5 patch that seems quite outdated and do not work. Anyone figure out how to fix this or do I have a broken adapter?

NI-DAQmx 8.8 does not work properly after upgrade to LabVIEW 8.6

I just upgraded to LabView 8.6 from version 7.1 and found out that the NI-DAQmx 8.8 drivers do not install correctly, since there is not Measurement I/O tab in the Functions palette (see attached document). The curious thing is that I can see all my NI-DAQmx devices in the MAX, and they all test correctly, i.e., they are working correctly. The sales representative for my area recommended me to uninstall , and reinstall LV8.6 and then reinstall the NI-DAQmx 8.8 drivers, but it did not work. I still do not see the Measurement I/O functions and my application says that it "cannot compile" the NI-DAQmx vi's. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your help. You are right, I uninstalled and reinstalled LabVIEW 8.6 (update from LabVIEW 7.1) and reinstalled DAQmx 8.8. I still continue to have some problem that seem (to me) beyond compatibility issues. Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Before you reinstalled DAQmx 8.8, did you
uninstall it? If not, then I believe that the installer would see the
driver already present and not actually make any changes.
REPLY: No, I did not uninstall DAQmx 8.8. What do you recommend? Should I uninstall BOTH LabVIEW 8.6 and DAQmx 8.8 and then reinstall everything again?
2. When you say that the VIs are not responsive,
could you describe this a bit better? Perhaps post one of the error
messages about compiling that you mentioned in your first post?
REPLY: I am having a lots of "This SubVI is not executable" error messages in many of the library VI's not even mine. See the attached file.
3. If you open the NI Example Finder (Help»Find
Examples) and the expand Hardware Input and Output»DAQmx»Analog
Measurements»Voltage, are you able to run one of the example programs
and see the correct values that you see in the Measurement and
Automation Explorer Test Panels?
REPLY: I tried to runa couple of the examples for continuous voltage acquisition (internal clock) and both open with errors (see attachement).

Why Mail does not work properly after updated to Mountain Lion?

I updated to ML two days ago and my Mail is not working. I can read but cannot reply because there is no cursor. Restarted a few times, no change. Anybody has the same problem??

I forgot to mention (and add a new level of strangeness) that Mail is retreiving all of my messages from my personal (AT&T) account without issue.
And I just discovered an even bigger problem: all of my emails from my Sent and other folders from my work account are completely gone!
I may have no choice but to revert to my Lion system as of yesteday, before I installed ML.

If not, is it possible that your side switch is toggled to mute sounds? See this resource for information:

Mute notifications, alerts, and sound effects. Slide the Side Switch toward the Volume buttons.
The Side Switch doesn’t mute the audio from music, podcasts, movies, and TV shows.

I do not want to upgrade to 7.0, I am attending online college and the upgraded version does not work with my school. How can I stop Firefox from upgrading? I have to keep uninstalling the upgrade and installing the old one.

How can I stop Firefox from automatically upgrading? My on-line college is not compatible with the upgraded version. I have to keep uninstalling the new one and reinstalling the old one.

It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option.
