My iPhoto keeps on crashing every time i go to type new names into the faces tab.

When i am in the iphoto program on my MecBook Pro its keeps on crashing every time i go to type in new names. I have read a post on this forum that said to turn off photo stream and that did not work. Any thoughts?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

All Office applications will also try to open a temporary work file in the same location as the source file. This implies the source file directory also needs to be writable for this temporary file. Since the default HFS+ driver provides only read-only access, such temporary files will fail to open, and will cause the application to fail.
As a test copy the file you want to edit, say an Excel spreadsheet from the OSX file system to the C: drive on the Windows side and try to open it. If you look in this directory, you should see two files, the source and a temporary file. You may have to force the temporary file to be opened on a read-write file system, by manipulating the folder for temporary files.

Could you please let us know if you are using any 3rd party plugin for Adobe Reader? If so, can you please temporarily remove the same and see if you are facing the same issue.
If you are not sure about the same, please do the following:
1. Navigate to the Reader installation folder. Usually its C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0
2. Ensure that Adobe Reader is not running and delete the entire "Reader" folder
3. Initiate a Repair transaction for Adobe Reader from the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Also, it would be great if you could let us know if the issue is PDF specific or does the issue happen with all documents. Do you observe the same issue with the below mentioned PDF as well:

It doesn't matter what I do I still get the plugin to crash. I've removed every trace of Internet Explorer in the registry. Download fresh versions of Mozilla and Silverlight. I uninstalled both of them and cleaned any lingering files. Reinstalled Mozilla, and Silverlight. Same error. No more movies for me. :>/ See entry below.

I created a multilayered stencil in Photoshop and each layer was exported as a TIFF. Then I uploaded those TIFFs to Adobe Creative Cloud. My idea was to trace each of the TIFFs using Adobe Ideas, which seems to work except, every time I bring in new TIFF as the background photo to trace, it's a different size.'

When importing images through the Photo layer in the layers panel, the image that comes in has a size that is dependent on the current zoom level of the document. This may explain why you are seeing different sizes. You can select the hand tool and double-tap on your sketch to return the zoom level to 100%. If you do this before importing your photo, then your photos should all be imported at the same size.

IPhoto 09/ SL Crashes every time I change number of months

I am creating a calendar and wanted to change number of months from 12 to , say 14. iPhoto crashes every time.
I have of course submitted crash reports.
Any workarounds apart from starting from scratch?

One thing to always try is renewing the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and delete the preference file -- "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist -- restart your system and launch iPhoto - reset any user preferences you have changed and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it

My mid 2010 macbook pro keeps freezing/crashing every time I try and play a game. Any help?

Every time I try and play either WoW or The Sims, my mac goes to black screen, or black screen and repeating last second of noise it was playing. I haven't upgraded to Lion and am still using Snow Leopard(??). I am by no means the most tech savvy girl in the world, but would appreciate any help, as this is driving me insane!! Thanks!!!

Mail crashes every time I try to type in the address bar

Every time I try to type in a email address ( To , CC, BCC) mail crashes. I have tried reinstalling mail form the SL disc , but it still dose it HELP!!!! SOOOOOO annoying

Crashes Every Time I Attempt To Put A Name On A Certificate

I'm exceedingly frustrated. I've been using Pages with no problems for a long time, but when I decided to use it (instead of AppleWorks) to create certificates for my students I hit a major roadblock. Every time I try to enter a name, Pages quits unexpectedly. I have reported the bug to Apple, but that's not a solution. It happens with both certificate template, but only with those templates (as far as I have seen), and only when I attempt to enter data in the area where the recipient's name would go. Can anyone offer a solution?

I am having a crash every time I try to load a photo to the beta.

I loaded and edited three photos with no issues and now LR4 crashes each time I try to load a new photo. I saw the mention of lens correction and CA correction, so I turned those off and the program still crashed on loading a photo.
The photos I have editred load just fine, and I managed to open one other but several photos have caused a crash before the photo finishes loading.
I converted these photo copies to .dng on import, if that helps or has any effect.

OS - Windows Vista 32
Memory 4GB
Video Card NVidia Don't know number
Created new catalog, copied .cr2 files into catalog then converted to .dng
with 'fast load' checked
Running on external drive, where LR3 has always run
Error is not consistent, unfortunately. Several attempts to load photo
into Develop caused a crash, then a few more didn't. Wish I had better

Every time I download a CD it goes into the wrong file on PC

I have just decided after many many months to update my iPod. I have had huge problems trying to locate the the music files and found most of them in a Compilations folder. I so don't want that - so I have had to copy them all over and then go back and delete from Compilations then back into itunes to locate the new path. Finally sorted it but I still have the problem when downloading a CD - it automatically sets up a Compilations folder - how do I stop that? What I would like is for the folder to be either the name of the CD or the name of the Artist. I have searched the settings as best I can but can't find anything to help with this. Some double CD's go 1 disc into the CD name and the other No. 2 disc into Compilations. Very annoying. Once I have this sorted I would like to do a new complete back up - any help with that too would be good - will be backing up to memory stick. Any help much appreciated. Carol

The CDs you are importing appear to be tagged as compilations, there's no setting in iTunes that is causing them to default. All you can do is check the CDs before you import them to make sure that if they are not actually compilations you change the information. If they are compilations then obviously it would make sense to leave them be.
You might want to set the compilations option for the iTunes Browser so you can easily locate and play tracks from compilation CDs. Open iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>general and check the option "Group compilations when browsing". If you turn on Browsing from View>Show Browser or from the browser "eye" icon in the bottom right of your iTunes window Compilations will appear at the top of the Artist list. Click on Compilations and the compilation albums will will appear in the album pane.

Yes, if you are keeping all your music files etc. in the iTunes Music Folder then copying the entire iTunes folder will capture it and the library files. Copying the whole folder and it's contents will give you a complete copy of the iTunes files at that point in time.

I am using a .psd file with a 65% opacity setting in the video 2 timeline and placing a series of title boxes over it to use as caption to a how to videos of a lab protocol. you cab take a look at what I'm doing at http://149.250.6.10/sandbox.asp Every damn time I try to do anything to a title box on the timeline, the damn application crashes. I am using an HP z800 with 12 gb of ram, and an aja card for realtime screen playback. Is there anyone who can offer some advice please? this is so frustrating. I wasted my entire saturday fighting this. The error reads "Premiere Pro has encountered an error. [..\..\Src\LegacyTime.cpp-91]
