my iPhoto won't open keeps on giving me an error message and my microsoft office two

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. More information means you get better assistance. (And no, more exclamation marks do not get help faster or make your issue seem urgent. They just make it seem like you have a stuck key )

Does anybody know if you uninstall iTunes (mine is giving me an error message) and then re-install, will my music still be there (somewhere?)  I don't have it saved to the cloud, but it is on my iPad  I recently upgraded my iTunes account and now I can't open it.  I get an error message and it says I need to re-install.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

You are not able to view purchase history on your iOS device.  You may only re-download previous purchases from the iOS device.
To review your iTunes Store account's purchase history, follow the steps in this article from a computer only:

  • PDF won't open on Mac with Adobe Reader Error message:Adobe Reader could not open

I have Adobe Reader 10.1.3 for Mac, (10.7.3) and am having problems opening pdfs.  I get an error message: Adobe Reader could not open file name.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). The files are not from emails, but are from websites, government sites, professional organizations etc.)  Help! Adobe is no help!

Manually download the files to your computer (right-click on the url). When the file is downloaded to your computer do you get the same message when you try to open in Reader through the File->Open menu? What about when you open the file in Mac's Preview application?

any help would be much appreciated really wanting to update my new songs on my iPod

No thats not right, iTUnes uses parts of quicktime to play audio and video. You need to go here and download the stand alone version of quicktime. Now apple has recently changed this page to include quicktime with iTUnes and then qwuicktime only. get the one WITHOUT iTUnes,

  • I updated my iTunes on Friday and it won't open. I'm getting an error message that I need to reinstall something. What could this be? Please help.

I was on my laptop Friday evening listening to my iTunes. A window popped up saying there's an update for iTunes. I start downloading the update. After it finished downloading, I closed iTunes out then went to open it back up. That's when I got an error message saying that something wasn't installed properly and that I need to reinstall it. What would cause this and how can I fix this problem??

If this is an iCloud account the Outbox only appears when sending an email, so if it is still trying I suppose it should be showing now (not sure though, hard to replicate this)
    What type of email account?

  • Iphoto won't open - keeps quitting unexpectantly

I was importing photos from my SD card in Iphoto when it quit unexpectantly. Now whenever I try to open it the same window comes up:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iphoto and I still have the same issues.
I also went into disk utility and hit verify then repair and it told me nothing was wrong. I'm in iceland at the moment as I'm travelling for a year and I really need to be able to put my photos onto my computer then onto my hard drive so if anyone can help that would be great.
    Thanks,
    S

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • HELP!  My Webpage started giving me an error message and I don't know why!

Hi! I'm brand new to using Mac's and iWeb and I'm trying to set up a website for my business. I had completed a welcome page and published earlier today. A friend of mine was able to go to the URL I gave her and view my page without any problems. Now, though, she and I get the following message . . .
"We're sorry but we can't find the iWeb page you've requested. It's possible that:
    · The address was entered incorrectly. Check your spelling and try again.
    · The .Mac member of this name has either created a page and removed it or has never published an iWeb site.
    · There is no .Mac member of this name. If you'd like this member name for yourself, sign up for a .Mac account right now and have your own iWeb site in minutes."
When I log in to my .mac account, it shows a welcome page as being present, but when I click on that I get this same message. Does anyone have any idea of what is going on???? If so, would you mind helping me out with this? Please keep in mind I'm new to this software when you explain things and don't be afraid to talk to me like I've got no clue what I'm doing. Thanks a bunch!

    Anyway,
we're typing in the URL correctly,
    That's what they all say:-)
Seriously, it happens all the time that people think they are doing that right when they are not. Just as people come here all the time complaining that their site is not updating when in fact it is just that they need to clear their browser cache.
Here are some different url's you could try, making sure each time that they are exactly correct, including capitalization.

    http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/sitename

    http://web.mac.com/username/iWeb/sitename/pagename.html

iPhoto is missing substructure that it needs to run.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Why won't iPhoto won't open?

iPhoto won't open. The rainbow circle just goes round and the computer sounds like it's about to take off. Can only close with ctrl/option/start button.

Look in the Users/Library/Preferences file for a
    com.apple.iphoto.plist
file and delete it, reboot the computer and relaunch iPhoto.
Still having issues, it could be more serious.
Get a new external drive, use Disk Utility in the Utilities folder to Erase> format it HFS+ Journaled and click Erase.
Copy the contents of your use file folders (Music, Documents, Pictures etc) to the external drive.
    When finished, disconnect the drive.
Find your Snow Leopard 10.6.x grey disks that came with the computer, stick the first one in and reboot the computer holding the c key.
(iPhoto only comes free on the GREY DISKS, not the white 10.6 upgrade disks)
Second screen in, simply install OS X, when finished and your back in, run Software Update.
That should fix your issues with iPhoto and anything else in OS X  as it's simply reinstalled.
If your still having problems, the next step would be to right click on your iPhoto Library and "Show Package Contents" find your "Originals" folder of your pictures and copy those out to another folder in Pictures.
Delete the iPhoto Library, then open iPhoto and import those pictures again.
If everything is fine then your ok, if your still having problems, one or more of the pictures is likely corupted or something is wrong with your user.
You can copy the original pictures folder to the Shared Folder, then go into the System Preferences and create a new user, log into it and copy those shared photos's, import them into iPhoto and see if that works.
Somewhere along the line your going to find out what is causing your issue.
Download the free OnyX and run all it's maintainence and cleaning aspect and REBOOT at the end or you'll be unhappy.
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/
When doing all this, make sure to have two copies of your data files at all times.
