My ipod 4G won't connect to my wifi at home with new router. Says "unable to connect" and won't give me any other options. Have tried resetting network connections. I don't want to lose anything. I have tried turning everything off and back on again. Desktop and laptop are working fine. Sometimes it turns on suddenly and I can use it for like 20 mins but then shuts off again. Same thing is happening with my dad's iphone, Help.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Hi, I was working at home with my iPad, everything was going well. It went out battery and after this I am unable to connect to the wifi at home. Before getting out battery no problem, and now it sees the router signal but it is unable to connect to it.

Hi, I was working at home with my iPad, everything was going well. It went out battery and after this I am unable to connect to the wifi at home. Before getting out battery no problem, and now it sees the router signal but it is unable to connect to it.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I would try another restore of the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. Maybe something went wrong in the process. Make sure everything works before applying any updates and adding any hardware or software.
Then add things carefully, rebooting Windows and testing the USB and audio at each step.
    Please note this.
The only info windows gives me for the sound card is that it from Microsoft... with a driver version of 6.1.7601.17514....which naturally doesn't really help me since I have no idea what card or mobo I have . Is there any way for me to find out what I need other than opening up my laptop?
Every one of them lists my mobo simply as a Toshiba motherboard, with no audio card information. Which I'm assuming that is because it has an internal sound processor. My problem is that none of the properties, or ANYTHING I try, will give me information on what I need to fix this...
All of the latest drivers for your model are easily found here. This one is for the sound.

    points will be awarded

    HI,
For connectivity with SAP from Java, if you are looking at solutions based on the options SAP provides, then
    1. SAP JCo --> You know it...but this one is recommended if you want to connect from a standalone Java application.
    2. SAP JRA --> From applications inside JEE runtime environment.

  • Ipod touch 4g have to reset network connection every 5-10 minutes.

I recently had to exchange my iPod touch for a new one because of damage.  Now the new one will not stay connected to any wi-fi signal.  the signal strength indicator stays up showing good signal strength, but after a few minutes any apps or safari state that there is no internet connection.  If I reset network connections in the "settings" menu, it will work for a few minutes, but I don't have time or patience to reset the connection every few minutes.  I have the latest iOS update, Itunes update.  This is an issue at home, work or public wi-fi spot that I have tested it in.
The previous ipod worked great, with no issues, just damaged after less than three weeks old.

    - First restore from backup.
    - If problem persists then restore to factory defaults/new iPod
    - If you still have the problem then it is likely due to a hardware problem and an appoinent at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • When connected to itunes, my iphone 4 shows up as a device. GREAT - but it won't give me any other option than to restore it from older back ups saved. I went to a Genius and there's nothing wrong with the phone itself so it HAS to be my itunes. Ideas?

My iTunes is up to date and i have print screens to show you what I'm on about if it's unclear:
    http://i40.tinypic.com/mku9lw.jpg
    http://i41.tinypic.com/25h1gs1.jpg
The genius said he'd not come accross this before but i'm pretty sure everything is up to date on my pc (well...it's a vista so as up to date as it can be)
    PLEASEEE HELLP MEEE

one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file.  Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing  even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer.   Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar.     Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
    Ideas?

  • IPhone 4 says connected to wifi but shows 3g connection.  I've tried turning off 3g - that does enable the wifi logo, but then when I try to connect to something it changes to 2g.  Tried resetting network connection in general setting.

I've tried everything.... I see this problem all over the web, but no one seems to have an answer... so I know it's not just me.  Laptops and other wireless devices connecting fine, just iPhone 4 has problem.

When you say you have tried "everyihing" that doesn't provide enough information to help you, as one person's "everything" is quite different from another person's "everything". In the absence of knowing what you have tried, the following are the most common causes of this problem.
Turning off 3G will just switch you to EDGE. You can turn off Cellular Data, but that won't make it connect to WiFi if your WiFi isn't working, it will just eliminate all data access to your phone.
Easiest to try answer if it is only your home WiFi, and it works other places:  Reboot your router.
Next, update the firmware in your router.
If it doesn't work with any WiFi anywhere first Reset Network settings. If that doesn't fix it, restore the phone using iTunes.
You didn't say what symptoms you got, or when you were trying to use WiFi. You do know that the iPhone turns off WiFi when the phone is on standby to preserve battery, right? So if it only fails to connect to WiFi when you are not actively using it that is normal.

  • I updated wifi in home with new device. laptops and iphone connected just fine.. Ipad connects to wifi but says no internet access..  update the ipad thru itunes, tried forgetting and resetting network.. HELP!!!!

Any help on this?/  this is crazy..  both iphones and laptops connect and work just fine.. our ipads will not connect...    very strange

Help is right here for you Omichael! Let's get you conneted
to your home wifi. May I ask are you able to connect to other wifi networks? If
so then please forget your home network again, turn wifi off, reboot, and
retest. If this doesn't work then you will want to reset network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that
this will delete ALL wifi passwords that you have saved.
