My Ipod 4th gen isnt syncing

My Ipod 4th gen isnt syncing to my iTunes! When i plugged it in randomly it said that there was an error and that i should try "restoring". I did restore and now all my music in my library will not sync to my ipod! When i click sync it will say "copying 251 of 688" of my songs onto my iPod and it will go through the whole process but when i click on my music button it says "No content" i have tried restoring a couple times now and have also turned my iPod off and turned it back on and nothing seems to work. Can someone Plzzz help! I have a few miles i needa run tomorro and i would rly like it if i could run to my songs :<

I found my answer!! Thanks to a user named Herculator!

Ok, I was able to fix this. The solution in a nutshell is to have iPodVoiceOver.dll installed in the (whatever drive letter):\program files\itunes directory. Where all the other dll's are. For example, I use windows 7 64 bit and have itunes installed on the c drive but my library is located on an external drive (f:) Itunes was able to download the voiceover kit but it copied it to my c: root directory. I moved it over to c:\program files\itunes and voila it worked. I connected the shuffle and started itunes and it installed the kit to the shuffle. I'm now able to check and uncheck the voiceover feature and it works perfectly fine

i recently upgraded to ios 6 on my ipod touch 4th gen and it wont sync with itunes
(wont show at all) but it shows on my computer on windows 7
i can use wifi with no problems at all however i can only wifi with my phone and not via broadband

I have the exact same issue, also with an iPod Touch 4th gen. I can't even sync over wifi though. Try this, connect the iPod to the computer, Hold the power and action button for 10 seconds until the iPod turns off, then keep holding the action button. With luck windows will popup that its found a device and may prompt you to re-download itunes to get the iboot driver...
I was running itunes 10.7.0.21 so I dont know why this is required. hate Crapple some times.
Download the newest itunes and re-install. It will likely give you the option to repair itunes. Do that. It may help you

  • Too much time is taken for my ipod 4th gen to sync

My iPod is taking hours and hours to sync songs, and fixes?

iPods do not work with "accounts."  They work with your iTunes library.  You don't have to set up a new iTunes library for each iPod.  One iTunes library can sync with as many iPods, iPhones, and iPads as your own, at the same time.  iTunes connects to and treats each device separately.
However, if your iPod nano is set up for automatic syncing with an iTunes library that is NOT your current iTunes library, you cannot sync your current library to it without replacing its existing content.  Do you have access to the previous iTunes library, the one the iPod currently synced to?  If so, you should transfer your song files from that iTunes library to your current iTunes library.  Then, sync our iPod to your current iTunes library.  You can post back to get more info about the procedure.
If you don't have access to that previous iTunes library, the approach is to first offload the song files from the iPod to your computer's drive, then add the song files to your current iTunes library.
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
You can then sync your iPod to your "consolidated" iTunes library.

    Hello
My former laptop, Samsung 32 bit Window 7, is connecting well with my ipod. Still it is good.
But I bought Dell 64 bit Window 8, and I can't connect with my ipod.
I uninstalled the itunes 3 times, but still I cannot connect here.
Also, when I connect to the laptop, it is blinking. I mean that this repeats connecting and disconnecting.

  • My ipod 4th gen. only syncs 2 out of about 20 playlists

How can I get my ipod to sync all of my playlists? That seems to be the only thing that doesn't sync when I plug it in.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

Have you ever been able to sync your iPod shuffle to iTunes on your computer, or has something recently occurred?  Are you working with a Mac or a PC?   Without knowing what has been recommended to you, I'm going to start here with the basics troubleshooting for this issue.

If you look at the feed, and look at the entry 'The end to an exciting field season in Aulavik National Park' you will see the line:
    <pubDateFri, 29 Jul 2011 04:00:00 GMT</pubDate>
You have not closed the 'pubdate' tag - there should be a '>' as the 9th character. Because the tag has been left open, it invalidates everything which follows it, and thus the entire feed. iTunes therefore cannot read it, which is why the Store has not updated. Add the '>' and republish, and all should be well.
It's always worth checking your feed by subscribing manually, from the 'Advanced' menu, or by clicking the 'subscribe free' button on the Store page (both do the same thing) - if you can subscribe to the feed it should be OK.

My daughter's ipod touch 4th Gen cannot sync over wi-fi and cannot be seen in the devices section of itunes for windows.  I have gone through all steps of the troubleshooting guide.  All of our other ios devices are wi-fi sync-ing fine.   Can anyone help?
Not sure how long this has been a problem.  Kids are young and I manually manage most things but recently having music synced is an issue.  All software has been kept up to date.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ive got a new pc with windows 7 and my ipod touch 4th gen is synced with my old pc ,how can i back up the photos and music on the ipod to my new pc ?

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    iOS: How to back up
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content such as music, videos, and photos synced to the device, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software available to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

If you do happen to lose any purchased content, you can always redownload it from the iTunes Store again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for information.
