My iPod 4th generation screen shakes back and forth every once in a while and the touch screen stops working. Then I have to hit the sleep button on and off to make it work

My iPod touch 4th generation screen shakes back and forth every once in a while and won't let me use the touch screen. I have restored it at least 5 times to factory setting and it is still happening. The only way to stop it is to hit the sleep button off and then on again. It happens about once every 5 minutes. Please help.

If you successfully (completed all steps without errors) restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that points to a hardware problem. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on           
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable              
    - Try on another computer                                                       
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have downloaded songs and when I play them they stop playing. I have to hit the sleep/wake button for the ipod to come on and hit play, then the song will continue playing where it left off

    Why are songs cutting out in the middle and my ipod shutting down?I have to hit the sleep/wake button to turn it back on and hit play again. Then, the songs will play from where it left off.

  • HT1414 Phone goes into panic mode and shuts off and reboots every once in a while

    So i had my iphone 4s replaced a few months ago and i restored my iphone with my backup from my last iphone i had and i just started noticing my iphone wouldnt respond when i hit the power or home button even tho i know i have it turned on and when i press the home button it reboots or either it will go into panic mode and i have to hold down the Power Button and Home Button till it restarts itself. I dont think my backup files on itunes are corrupted but maybe they are or maybe my phone is malfuctioning. Anyone have this problem with Iphone 4s or 5 or anyone have any advice whats going on or what i should do?

  • I know the pasword to my ipod 4th generation but everytime i type it in it says its wrong. i tried restoring i but my computer can't handle it. anyway to break in and take away the password without restoring the ipod orgetting a new one?

    Next would be to restore to factory settings/new iPod since maybe you have some corruption in the backup

    I am afraid to download the new update software ios 6.1.6. Because everytime I let it put new software on, It makes my Ipod 4th generation mess up one way or another.     Nope, though it did allow me to get some missing songs back onto my iPod. That's something. But neither "Back in Black" or "Dirty Deeds" show up anywhere on the Touch. Could this be because iTunes has no deal with AC/DC?
    Quite frankly, at this point, I'd really rather not have the "ease of use" of iCloud attached to the iPod. It's not like I change my playlists that much. It would just be nice to get what I want onto my MP3 player. Not sure which one it was: iCloud, Music Match or the Air Port but the only real result of all the $ I plunked down is seeing all of my Wife's 231 Christmas songs popping up on my laptop. Really don't want them here. She SURE AS **** is sick of seeing all of my stuff on her computer.

    Maybe yes. Although not covered by the warranty, the Genius sometimes will exchange the iPod at no cost. All you can do is try.
