My iPod 4th generation won't update to iOS 7

Please help I really want ios7

Correct. Not compatible
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory. The 4G only has 256 MB

  • My Ipod 5th generation won't update to ios 8 and I don't have a computer so I can't update through itunes help?

Please help me ios 8 won't download I go download it and it reboots but t is still ios 7

Try the following. You will likely need to a computer with Itunes and an internet connection.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch 3rd generation won't update to iOS 5

My sister has an iPod Touch 3 and it won't update to iOS 5. Everytime I check for an update, it says "This version of the iPod software (4.2.1) is the current version". The apple website even says 3rd gen is compatible. Any help?

More than likely, the iPod is a 2nd generation one, in which case iOS 4.2.1 is as high as it can go. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 to identify which model your sister owns.
(8GB or 16GB - it's 2nd gen. If it's a 32GB Touch you definitely need to check the linked page.)

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation is not updating to iOS 5.

I haven't been on iTunes for quite a while, so I have decided to plug my iPod 4th Generation into iTunes to update to iOS 5 (currently my iPod is running on software version 4.2.1.) While I tried to do so, I would go on my iPod and see that there is no "Synching" on the screen, and after 4-6 minutes of downloading (and even once, 2 hours) there would be a pop up message claiming that there was an error in updating my iPod because there was no "network connection". I tried to restore, but it didn't work because it had tried to update first before restoring.
    The popup basically said this:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod 'Name of iPod'. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
    Error code = -3259
Can someone help me out in order to get my iPod to update already?

    Hi,
First of all are you connected to the Internet? Second, updated to the latest version of iTunes. Third, if you are running Windows, disable your antivirus software. Tell me if this helps.

  • IPod touch 4g won't update to iOS 5, ITunes always crashes?????

My iPod touch 4th gen will not update to iOS 5.  Whenever I connect it to my computer, it asks me to update to iOS 5. If I click okay, it backs up and them starts the update, but them iTunes crashes. If I click not to update, and sync it, it's fine. If I try to restore it, it also crashes after backing up. If I tell it not to update right after I connect my iPod, and update through the iPod summary it doesthe same thing. I have tried to update 15-20 since the update came out and it still hasn't worked. • IPod Touch (4th Gen) Won't Update Past iOS 6.1.6

I have an iPod Touch (4th Generation). I'm trying to connect to Family Share but it needs to be updated to iOS 8. My iPod is saying it's up-to-date at iOS 6.1.6.
I have tried updating directly from the iPod (Settings > General > Software Updates) and I've also connected it to my Mac OS X Yosemite / iTunes 12.01.126 with no luck. Nothing is recognizing that this device needs to be updated.

  • IPod touch 4th generation, won't update to 5.0.1

iPod touch 4th gen, just over a year old, I've been trying to update the new software for what seems like months now, and every time it downloads the software and then at the last minute-quite literally, tells me that the network connection has timed out. I've checked the diagnostics test and everything is fine apparently, and my internet has always been fine with everything else. Anyone have any ideas? I have also updated the iTunes to ITunes 10.5

1- Download The Firmware you need for your device from Here : http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
2- After you've dowwnloaded it go to itunes and press Shift while holing Shift button click Update (for windows only i dont know bout the Mac) and select the Firmware you downloaded it in step 1
3- And youre done it will verify the software and then it will update.

No charging, no turning on, no recognition by my iTunes for my 4th Gen iPod Touch.  It is only about 6 months old.  I tried the holding home and sleep buttons for 10 or more seconds but that did not work.  Any other option besides going to the Apple Store and asking for assistance there?

I had my computer fixed and so I had redownload itunes again. All my my music got saved to a folder as a backup.Well when I downloaded it,I put all the songs on itunes and tried to sync my ipod to add new music. But,it kept saying it won't sync since required folder is not found.I've looked everywhere online to see what to do.I tried uninstalling everything and again multiple times. The same error kept popping up.I switched to Manually manage music to see if it fixed the problem but no.A different error "the song....could be copied error ..." I switched back to sync.Nothing worked!!I tried restoring but it took so long as if it couldn't work it out.Previously I had this same computer fixed and when I downloaded again itunes it worked perfectly fine until now.Can somebody please guide me what to do?I cannot afford a new one.

    5.it contacts the apple people.
6.it says the are some pucheses that haven`t been transefed. but i click continue
