  • My IPod 4th generation wont connect to my virgin media network.

    Hello,
I brought an IPod 4th generation off of my friend, and since i have got it i've been trying to get it to connect to the internet... We use a Virgin Media network so when it asks for the password to the connection i type it in correctly and it says "unable to connect", ive tried connecting to my friends network as it has no password, i am perfectly capible of connecting to that, but when I try to get onto the internet it will not let me, i have the latest update for the IPod, i was wondering if i have to buy something off of Apple to let me connect to such things, or if its something to do with the netwrork im using. Please help.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod touch 4th gen wont show up in iTunes, but my old iPod nano does.

So I've looked up this issue on multiple forums and here, but it seems like everyone is having a simmilar issue, but not the same. I've gone through just about everything here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369 and I've tried all the trouble shooting and everything. I thought that maybe it was an issue with my cheap USB but I recently purchased an apple brand one and it still doesn't work. My iPod doesn't even show up as an iPod in the connected devices on my computer, but it shows up as a camera or something. I have a Toshiba Leading Innovation laptop with Windows 8, and a 4th generation iPod touch. My older iPod nano connects to iTunes just fine. I'm thinking it's an issue with my iPod touch but I have absolutely no clue how to fix this. Can anyone help?

The Nano uses different drivers than iOS devices like the iPod touch

  • Please Help! When plugged in, Ipod (2nd generation) wont show up!

hey, my old ipod i gave to my sister has suddenly not been able to appear when it is plugged in to the computer. I don't know how, but it's not in the columns and only charges on the ipod screen. Nothing happens at all with itunes and nothing pops up to show it's existance! What is going on!? Thanks:)

i've had this problem before, adn the only thing that worked for me was to reset my ipod, and, if it shows up, restore the original settings to prevent it from happening again. i'm afraid that it takes a while to put all of your songs/podcasts/etc. back on your ipod, but it's the only way i know of. hope this helps!

  • How do i get my Ipod 6th generation to show up on itunes, then restore without telling me its corrupt!

Hi, so the story is about a month ago i had brought in my Ipod 6th generation in to an apple store because the sleep button was stuck down (that ipod was from this past christmas). It was under warenty so I got another one free, but now this new one wont
    1. Show up on Itunes
    2. When it rarely does (it shows up randomly even when its not plugged in) It says its corrupted. I hit restore and that bar goes on forever!
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled itunes tons of times and that doesnt work, ive restarted my computer which doesnt help. ive reseted my ipod by the buttons and the settings hundreds of times! Disk mode ive gone into but i dont really know whats supposed to happen after i plug it in. I have added songs to my library after my old ipod broke and before i got the new one if that makes a difference. My old ipod (6 generation) worked fine on my labtop with no troubles at all so im ripping my hair out trying to figure out what i need to do.

Ipod NANO, forgot to mention that.

  • Ipod keeps restarting/ wont show up in itunes or my computer...

Recently my ipod has been freezing after listening to it for about 20-30 minutes, i would reset it and it would remain frozen after the reboot until the battery died. Now it wont even take a charge, it keeps showing the apple symbol then the unhappy ipod face over and over until i disconnect it from the charge source. I took it to the apple store nearby and they gave me directions to reset my ipod, the problem is that my computer as well as itunes doesn't even recognize that my ipod is even hooked into the usb port. Any help or suggestions??
    Thank you

I am having the same problem with my ipod. I managed to get the ipod into disk mode and then managed to get windows to recognize it and restore it, but after the restore process completed it just went back to doing the exact same thing again so I dont think that works. I am still trying to figure things out and I really dont want to pay over $300 to send it to apple for repairs when I can get a brand new 20GB mp3 player for the same price. I would like to hear any suggestions too.

  • IPod Classic 80Gb, wont show up in iTunes 8, but does in Finder

Just plugged my iPod classic 80Gb in and it wont show in iTunes 8, although it shows up in Finder
Tried a iPod reset. restarted my Mac but no good.
Come on man I need to do a sync....

    I have a similar problem.
This morning, all music was gone from my iPod, just like that. I had been having troubles with playing a couple of songs last night if that's connected. Anyway, I connect it to my Macbook. I try to reset it through iTunes and that was done, I pressed eject and ejected it when it said OK to disconnect -- although when I did so it said it wasn't ejected properly. Now when I connect it appears in Finder as a device (like that thingy that appears when you install stuff, a white thing) but it doesn't in iTunes. In fact, as soon as I plug it in iTunes freezes and I can't open it or do anything in there, the marker just shows that it's loading.
    What do I do?

  • Ipod 1st gen wont show up in itunes 4.0

I recently upgraded my old imac g4 to 10.3.9. Now, my old shuffle will not show up in itunes 4.0. It mounts itself to the desktop, but wont show up? Any quick fixes out there?

Went through something similar on our daughter's old iMac G3. Solution there was to install the most advanced version of iTunes that we could which, I think, was 7.0.something. Her Nano then started playing properly.

  • My Ipod 4th generation wont charge when I plug it in either my computer or a wall charger

No light comes on when I plug it in to either my computer or a wall charger. I've tried restarting it, upgrading the software on my computer, my computer doesn't even realize that its plugged in no matter which port I plug it into. Please help! I got it for my birthday last Septemeber (2011) from my kids, and just want it to work again.

Are you sure the connections on each end are nice and snug?  The picture in this article shows you what not to do.

  • 4th Gen iPod, folder error, wont show up in itunes but says do not disconne

Ok so here's the deal: when I turn on my iPod I get the folder with the exclamation point. Sometimes it does come up. So i then try to update m iPod by connecting it to my computer, with no such luck it freezes iTunes up until i disconnect it. It sits in the do not disconnect state until it is disconnected. I can't even get it to show up on the computer so I am not sure as to how I would restore to factory settings. Please help!

I haven't tried Apple's suggestions yet, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

  • Ipod connected but wont show up on itunes.

I bought an ipod but my computer couldnt work it so I gave it to my mate to put songs on from his computer. Now i have a computer that can put songs on but itunes wont recognize my pod thus not letting me put songs on.I was also wondering how to put songs off my ipod into my liabray. I have all the cords etc just dont know how to use my ipod to fullest yet. Any help and I will be very grateful!!!!!!
    Dell   Windows XP

Well, iTunes 7 is just an updated version of the iTunes you have. The screens and layout have changed slightly, although it only takes a day or two to get used to it. Also, I don't know what version of iTunes you have (go to Help>About iTunes), but I believe the only way to purchase from the iTunes store is with iTunes 7.
Also, the iPod Updater and iTunes are now one system, so the iPod and all the information that goes along with it (available space, settings, etc.) show up directly in iTunes.
Check it out here. Be sure to look at the links on the left side of the page.
    I hope this helps!

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
