My ipod 5 screen has no color?

So i have a lot of bookmarks for sites i really enjoy on my ipod 5th generation. But sometimes they multiply, and i easily get rid of them by deleting them. I opened one (that was multiplied) to see if the site had changed at all, but the screen went white. I turned off my ipod, and tried to turn it back on but it didn't. It was fully charged but just to be sure i charged it, but it still didn't turn on. I held the lock and home button but i just ended up opening siri, but the screen was still black. So overall, im not sure if it won't turn on, or if it doesn't have any color at all. I can tell when its on but its just that the screen is all black and i can't see anything.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • My ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots, I have restored it but it is still white.  It shows in ITunes but I cant do anything with it.  Can anyone help please

My Ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots on it.  I have restored it and it shows in ITunes but the screen is still white.  Is there anything I can do? The warranty has run out so I will have to pay for any repairs (if it can be repaired).  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

If you still have problems after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod then you very likely have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Ipod mini screen has gone dark, and when backlight goes on the centre part with writing etc is almost black with light around edge. will this go? do i need to send it back?

Maybe your backlight is burning out? That's what I would think when the center is black but the edges have light. I'm not sure if a reset would fix the backlight but you can try (hold the menu and center buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo and then release). If I were I'd send it back to Apple but do you know if you are still under warranty? You should be if you've had your iPod less than a year.

  • My iPod touch screen has some circle marks

My iPod touch 4g has some really small circle marks on the screen. Even if I clean the screen it's still there. What can I do?

They are most likely marks under the LCD, you should take it to an Apple Store and get it replaced. (Since it's Manufacturer Defect)

  • Ipod Nano Screen Has 1/2 Inch Horizontal Line Of Odd Pixels

I took my ipod nano on a backpacking trip way up in the canadian rockies. We camped in a tent and my ipod was exposed to below freezing temperatures and possibly high humidity conditions (it rained but the thing never got wet--it is also in a case). After one night i tried starting my nano up and it didn't start the first few times. I realized that it was extremely cold and i warmed it up in my hands for a while and it turned on after a few minutes.
I thought everything was fine a dandy, but a look at my screen made my heart fall: in the middle of the screen, where there was supposed to be writting, there was white. What do i do? Investigate.
I have never really experienced anything like what my ipod is doing, but i only have experience with things like gameboys or psps. Pretty much, when i turn on my ipod, this horizontal bar of "odd" pixels appear a bit darker, and resemble the very first picture/text the ipod displays (pictures in color, white, or text). It looks like the stuff is severely smudged with with something like a picture editor (Photoshop, for instance). To bring more oddness to the table: it doesn't stay like that (it isn't frozen)
On the first time (up in the mountains) it changed to white within a fraction of a second, but as time went on the length of time before that bar turns to pure white lengthens. Nearly a week later, the length of time is nearing a half minute and is becoming less smudged looking. I may also note that it turns to white gradually.
Everything else works just fine . I'd really appreciate help, info, or instructions on how to get my old ipod back! (interesting how we get attached...)
    Cheers,
    Unislash

Okay guys, i know that this is a discussion forum, but i have been very very very patient here . I still have this line of really odd pixels... right in the middle of the screen. Help please 0_0

  • HT201210 Ipod Touch Screen has nothing on it and cant turn it off.

My son's Ipod Touch has a blue/purple screen and will not respond at all when trying to turn off. The screen is blank and also will not let me restore it on the computer when I try.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

  • IPod Touch screen has gone white with grey lines

I have had my iPod Touch for a year and a half, so unfortunately it is out of warranty. About two months ago it started behaving strangely. Every other time I turned it on there would be a white screen which after a few seconds would get slightly darker with vertical grey lines. The screen was still responsive, and you could hear clicking. Turning the iPod off and back on would resolve the problem and the screen would reappear with no problems at all.
Unfortunately this got worse. Now I am unable to turn the iPod on without getting the white screen with grey lines. The iPod is still responsive. I can plug it into itunes and browse it normally.
I've reset the iPod many times and completely reset it through iTunes with no luck.
Any suggestions? Is this a hardware fault and is it possible to resolve? Or is there something else I can try? Any help would be very appreciated.

My old Touch 2G has the same issue. The Apple Store Genius couldn't tell what's the problem. However, I observed that the white grey striped display appears almost every time (or at least far more often) when the iPod lays on a ground. It is fixed by tilting it 90°, so that the dock connector is pointing to the ground.
And sometimes the density of stripes changes by pressing home (no, I don't mean switching from spotlight to first home screen page, because this happens in lock screen, when home button does nothing) or pulling out the dock cable. So I think it's something near the dock connector and home button. Hardware fail, maybe the not so fitting dock cable in the rounded dock connector is the issue.

  • IPhone screen has a color patch

I bought an iPhone 6 plus recently and when I unwrap it and start the phone I saw a color patch in the screen. iPhone is defective right now. I took this to multiple Apple stores in Seattle WA and they let me know that they are out of stocks to replace this. Also I noticed that there is an issue with the delivered phone model as well. I purchased a TMobile contract free iPhone 6 plus and they charged me $850 for the phone. Apparently receipt says that it is AT&T. When I checked this with hotline they told me know that this is AT&T one. How come this is possible? So there are multiple issues now with my phone. Because of this there is an issue exchanging that to TMobile contract free one. Called several times to Apple hotline and still no luck. How to proceed with this?

If you have jailbroken it with jailbreakme.com you get a line on the top left of the screen and a little bit on the top right on the boot up screen. Apparently it's ok, everyone has it. If you haven't jailbroke it you need to take it back.

  • My iPod Touch screen has shattered?

The screen on my ipod touch has shattered? htere is nothing on the whole site that says anything about it and there is no one to talk to on the phone. Please help!

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about the damage to your iPod. You do not provide any details as to how this happened, although the chances of a spontaneous fracture are fairly slim: there were some cases thought to be exploding screens, but the damage was due to too much pressure. As an owner of the iPod touch and the iPhone, that must have been phenomenal.
If the problem was due to a manufacturing fault, then your warranty (if you have had this for less than 12 months) should take care of this. If not, Apple can repair/replace the screen with a charge. If it is out of warranty, there are places that can replace the screens at a somewhat lower charge.
I would start with the nearest Apple shop if I were you.
