  • My ipod is keep lagging many like when i am playing games or swipping threw my pages. what can i do to fix it

MY IPOD IS KEEP LAGGING WHEN I PLAY GAME OR SWIPE THREW THREW THE PAGES, I DELETED MOST OF MY APPS, I TURNED OFF MANY FEATURES BUT IS STILL LAGGING. wHAT SHOULD I DO FOR IT TO STOP LAGGING?

    - Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    - Next restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Last, restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod touch 5 lagging while charging

I've had my ipod touch 5 since November 22nd, 2014. Every time I charge it, it lags whether that is while I am using an app or just trying to enter my passcode. I've tried not having apps run in the background but it still lags. If I use an app, it sometimes freezes to where I can't scroll or exit out of what I'm doing unless I unplug it. It doesn't respond to my touch, say I'm trying to scroll up or down it won't always work or it'll scroll too little or too much or go a different direction. And I do have the most updated software so I'm wondering if it's the software that is the problem.
I am wondering if there is a way for me to fix this? Or do I need to bring it into an apple store to be looked at or exchanged?

Other users have reported the same problem but I have not seen a solution.
I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod 4g interface lag

    Hello Everyone,
I am having a horrible time with my interface lagging on iPod 4g. I seems like it would be due to lots of programs running in the background but that is not the case. It happens the most while in Settings or on the home screen. I have tried doing a hard reboot, but that does not seem to help.
What should I do to solve this problem? Is it time to do a regular restore maybe?
I have iOS 5.1. No funny business on it at all. I have only installed apps from the store and thats it.
    Thanks!
PS is there a list somewhere of regular things to do to your ipod to keep it in top shape? I know for a computer you should clean out old docs, empty temp folder, disable services that you don't need etc. Is there something like this for iPods?

Thanks for the answer roaminggnome! I have not done a restore before and I am a little nervous about it. If I backup using iTunes and then restore it will it put EVERYTHING back on there? I mean like all my settings and such that I have tweaked? (no jailbreaking tweaks)
    Thanks..

  • IPod bluetooth audio lagging video?

    Hi,
I'm new to Bluetooth. I have an iPod Classic 160GB with Motorola S9 head set and Sony TMR-BT8iP Transmitter for the iPod. I like the set up except that when playing videos there seems to be a short lag in the audio signal that is not there with cabled head phones. Is this inherent with Bluetooth or is it one of the components not functioning properly?
    Any suggestions or insights appreciated.

I also experience this problem and watch a lot of video while traveling. Right now I keep my Sony DRBT50 in my drawer and use a corded headset because I can not deal with the delay.
I was planning on getting an iPad to get a bigger screen for video for my travels, but will probably hold off until this problem is fixed. I imagine it will be a problem there as well.
If anyone else is having the lag problem, please post so Apple can see its an issue that is important to us. I am actually disappointed that the post that tparry refers to was archived.

  • IPod Nano is lagging, and no music is playing. Headphones work. Half battery. ***, mate?

I went to use my iPod Nano this morning and it won't play music. My headphones work, and it still makes the sound when I shuffle it. It also appears to be significantly lagging by 2-3 seconds. I have a half battery. What's going on?

If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting are able to solve the problem, the issue is hardware related, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced or replaced.  The LCD screen may have simply burned out or wore out over time.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/.
It wouldn't also hurt to the let iPod's battery full drain. Then charge the iPod back up and go through the 5 R's again.

  • Ipod classic 160GB LAGGING

    hi
I've been experiencing enormous lag browsing in the ipod classic 160GB. It can sometimes take up to 20 seconds for the menu to change, or the wheel to work. What could I do ?!

How many smart playlists do you have, and do you have "cascaded" smart playlists that depend on the contents of other smart/regular playlists? Do you auto-sync and ude multiple playlist folders? My 160GB was pretty slow until the firmware update, and then changed to manual sync mode which eliminated all the playlist folders. I still have 75+ smart playlists, most of them cascaded on other playlists, and the lag is pretty much gone.

  • HT4972 iOS 5 software makes my iPod Touch 4G lag a lot and it freezes. Help?

I have two iPods. One 3rd gen and one 4th gren. My 4th gen has had a LOT of problems with lagging and freezing, etc, so I exchanged it for a new one hoping it would be better than the last, but the problem keeps repeating itself, so I exchanged again. Before I exchanged it I updated my 3rd gen (4.0 software) to the new 5.1 iOS. Soon after the 3rd gen starting lagging and freezing, so I realized that my iPod wasn't the problem, but the software itself ruined my iPod. My new 4th gen that I exchanged also has the same problem again. Does anyone else have the same problem? Help?

Yes. With iOS 5 the iPod lags.Try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. That seems to help some other users.

  • IPod touch 5 lag issue running iOS 8.1 ( PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ASAP)

OMG, i'm just fed up of using this iPod 5 after this new update of apple's iOS 8.1.  I did checkout iOS 8.1.1 but as it bought no changes to the performance i just downgraded it back to iOS 8.1. Well performance really matters on a device. The day i updated it to iOS 8, my iPod 5's performance has been sluggish and worse when compared to the old iOS 7.1.2 . If i had chance to downgrade it now i would do it asap but unfortunately there isn't any way but to suffer with this new sluggish iOS 8.1. If there is someway that apple can help us then its by increasing the performance on such A5 devices like iPhone 4S, iPad..., iPod touch 5, then please help us. If i ask this question "Is there anyway to increase or speed up my performance of my iPod 5", Then the reply from you people would be to either buy a new device by dumping this or to remove background apps, reduce motion etc. (WHICH I HAVE ALREADY DONE.) and the performance is WORSE or UNBEARABLE  on this device after updating to iOS 8 - iOS 8.1. When i just tap settings it takes about 3 - 4 secs or more to show up which is too bad. Please try to solve this issue on older devices running A5 chip by either giving us an another opportunity to downgrade to iOS 6 or 7 (PLEASE) or by improving this current OS performance issue just like iOS 7. I request you to solve this issues for the people like us who are an APPLE fan and still using devices running A5 chip and we just like it so much but please don't let us hate it by making it's performance worse. Yes, i do know that the all new iOS 8 was made for the newer devices running new CHIP, but then why did the update just come up for devices running A5 chip then if it would ruin the performance? Or was this is a marketing strategy to make our device's performance unbearable and worse so we hate it and buy a new device so you can increase your sales? Everyone cannot afford a device just like that as time goes. I further pledge you people to solve this sluggish performance issue on these older device who got this iOS 8 updates (RUNNING A5 chip).
Thank You for your time for reading my message.

  • Why is my ipod touch 5g lagging and freezing in Safari?

Especially when the webpage has pictures/photos/visuals/graphics, Safari lags and freezes hugely and is basically inoperable. I've tried resetting the device (holding home buttona and sleep button at same time until apple logo appears) but doesn't help. What's going on? I'm very dissapointed at Apple.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Safari and Dlete Cookies, Data and History
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Lagging IPod Touch 4G

I currently have the Ipod touch 4th gen (32GB), which has the latest iOS 4.2 . My Ipod touch started lagging a few days ago . And by lagging , i mean that the screen freezes for about 5 secs as i swipe to the next page . Also , when I type in my password for the passcode lock , the keys that are selected are supposed to be highlighted , but mine doesn't . The keys freeze and then unlock 5 secs later . Same thing happens when i try to open an app or swipe the screen to unlock . Any suggestions of what i can / should do ? I will greatly appreciate the response !
*Is it possible to ask for a replacement ?
*How do i check if i have multiple apps open ?

    Hello Whitney,
*How do i check if i have multiple apps open ?
Double click your Home button to bring up a list of recently used Apps. To remove them, tap and hold your finger over any of them until a small red minus sign appears in the upper right hand corner of each. Go ahead and tap the minus sign to remove it from the list.
You should also try and reset your iPod to see if that helps. To do this, simply press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together until the Apple logo appears. This will not erase anything from your iPod.
If the issue still persists, it would be a good idea to restore the iPod via iTunes.

  • Why did my brand new Ipod 5g 32gb touch screen stop working?

So I got this ipod from the Genius Shop for about a month. A few days ago when IOS 7.1 came out, I updated it. However, the ipod seems to lag a little. Today, I was charging my ipod and for some reason, when I turn it on, the touch screen stop working (the ipod is in perfect condition). The home button, volume button and the on/off button all works fine except for the touch screen. I want to restore everything on my computer, but I can't get pass the lock screen (the touch screen seems to stop working). I just can't do anything on this ipod anymore beside turning it on and off. I can't even power it off because the touch screen is no longer touchable. So how can I restore everything, or do something about this ipod to work again. Can I still take this back to the Genius Shop and get another one without additonal charge?

If the reset does not work try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • A possible bug in iPod 5G

I've a new iPod 5G 30GB, whilst I love the iPod, the HD lag times are too long (I've a seperate post regarding this at http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=808&start=0) but amoungst this lag problem I appear to have found a bug, or perhaps identified a problem with my iPod. Don't know which...
At times if I select a track from an artist > album > track, (eg track #3) you can see that the iPod trying to start the tune, but after 2-3 seconds it will give up and play the next track instead.
Just to prove to myself that I am not crazy I showed the problem to a workmate but the problem manifested itself further. I was on track #4 and clicked skip 5 times. The iPod took ages (10-12 seconds) just to skip to track #10 but then it wouldn't play track 10 and so skipped itself and tried to play track 11, then tried 12, 13, 14, 15, and finally stopped on track 16 (the last track) and played it.
This auto-skipping process took around 10-15 seconds.
I was hoping that my iPod 5G brothers and sisters could confirm/deny that they too have these problems?
ps. The problem doesn't always occur, but if I try and listen to Destiny's Child with album art (audio was ripped from CD AAC 128Kpbs) it will eventually play up.
pps. I have recently "restored" my iPod to try and solve this.

For those of you who don't have the clicking problem, I had a simular situation. When you tried to play a song it would skip to the next one or a random number ahead. This was because the files were no longer there. It may be caused by the automatic updating being inturrupted before it wiped the HDD. Try restoring the files. If it continues to happen, i suggest getting a third party app. like Anapod. It will tell you what iPod files that are not on your pc and vise vera. Then it allows you to transfer both ways. Also it can restore, repair, and remove bad files. Downside is that it looks like a windows file and does not have a media player. Hope this helps.
