The touchscreen isn't responding to my touch, and there are photos and videos that are really important to me on it that I want to retrieve and put on my new iPod. Any suggestions on what I could do?

My iPod 5th generation has been stolen and I don't have my box. Can I get the imei number without using itunes? In itunes, it's showing only the serial number. And they say that iDevices cannot be tracked with serial number.

I have a new 32 gb ipod 4 that has a blcak screen. It wont respond to a hard reset, nor does it acknowledge that it is being charged. It was not dropped or damaged in any way. We are out of the country. Help

First, let's make sure that what you call a "hard reset" is a true system Reset...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

The iPod isn't tied to an Apple ID, but is likely tied to an iTunes library. If you want to set it up as a new iPod (as if you were just pulling it out of the box), restore it to factory settings in iTunes.

I have the same problem too. I tried turning it off, and it still didn't work. If you keep your headphones in a lot, I believe that is the problem. I am no tech expert, but when you put in your headphones, it triggers something and that something might be stuck. When I turn upp my vokume when my headphones are not in, it says "headphones". To restore your music, connect to your computer's iTunes and try the following settings.
Then hit the Apply button on bottom right. I find it best to select "sync only checked songs and videos" in the Options in Summary.

My iPod 5th Generation was working perfectly fine and within the next ten minutes, it had shut off and won't turn back on

I was using my iPod and it was working fine and then I locked it and it randomly shut off. This has happened to me in the past, and I would just do the home button and lock button to manually reset it. Unfortunately, my home button is now breaking. I tried connecting the USB to my computer and it won't connect that either. Any ideas on what to do? I'm almost always in a wi-fi zone so this is usually my main source of communication.
