My iPod 5th Generation is not powering on

I need your help everyone. My iPod 5thGen is not working. What happened was battery was at around 20% and since I was playing, I decided to charge it. I connected it to the wall outlet but it wasn't doing anything, So I decided to remove the cable and pushed through playing letting the battery drained, And so it did, I connected it again but still no response. I've done the typical reset (holding the power and home button at the same time) but nothing happens. It just happened I think within the day I updated the software, just before christmas of 2014.
I wanted to have a local Apple store to check it however I'm afraid of how much would it cost. My dad just bought it in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last first week of September of 2014 and came home to Philippines same month and gave it to me. It is, I guess, the latest Ipod 5th Generation because it has Facetime already. He bought it from Jarir Bookstore in Riyadh. I think its still under warranty but how do I prove it to Apple if I don't have its warranty with me?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment/evaluation is free

  • IPod 5th Generation does not want to turn on

It was working fine the day before; plugged it in to charge like normal. Yet this morning when it was completely off; I thought it was probably my charger so I borrowed my moms; and the iPod kept turning on and off as in the apple logo kept popping off and on.. The problem is that its off so when I pressed the home and power button at the same time the apple logo popped up, but it lasted for a minute or so and then it completely turned off again.
Could there be a problem with my iPod and I need to go get it fix? or is there a solution I can do to fix it?

  • IPOD 5th generation will not upload new games

I purchased a new game and it will not upload it on my IPOD. It says it needs the 1.2 version which it has.
I installed Itunes 7 and when the ipod is sync it says it's syncing software is version 1.2. I restored my IPOD and it still did not eliminate the problem.
I can not find a way to contact support. It keeps looping me to articles and will not give me an email address or phone number.
    Someone please help.
    PC   Windows XP   none

I finally got the answer in the Itunes discussion section.
You must "authorize" your PC to use games / music purchased from the Store.
    Click on the "Store icon"
Go in "Store" -> "Authorize PC" It will authorize your IPOD to be able to load games. Otherwise, double-clic the image of the game between the Library column and the game description: a pop-up window will be prompted and you can authorize your pc.

  • My iPod 5th generation will NOT sync and I've tried everything.

My iPod has done this before in the past but it seemed to fix itself after awhile and I had all my music again, now - nothing. I've made sure the 'Sync Music' button was clicked, tried it unclicked, tried to manually sync, click every box on the side or my near 1500 song list, I've updated it, deleted and redownloaded itunes, took off every song from my iPod and put it back on, restored my iPod, reverted to last backup but nothing seems to work anymore. Photos, apps, and everything else syncs, just NO music. Also, during syncing, it randomly gives me the option to 'apply' and 'revert' changes without having made any "changes" at all. Is my computer just screwed up? Note that this happened before but all I did to correct that was to click and unclick the 'sync music' button but that doesn't work anymore. I REALLY need help.

Try syncing it with a different computer. If it works correctly on another computer then the issue is your computer. If you get the same results on the other computer get the iPod serviced.

My new ipod touch will not sync with itunes. i restores it so the old stuff on my itunes is on it but now that i have added new music, it will not sync at all. How can i fix this?

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. That makes the new iTunes look like the old one. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar

  • Best adaptor for an iPod 5th Generation

Just a quick question as to what you guys would reccomend for me to use.
I have just bought an iPod dock and an iPod 5th Generation ..not realising that the port for the speaker dock is too big to fit in the small 5th generation port.
What adaptor would i need to buy in order to fit my iPod into the speakers. I was going to buy the one for sale on here but a lot of reviews say that it isn't good?
What would you all suggest i do?
    Thank you, kind regards,
    Charlotte.

This adopter let you place the ipad where you want it
      http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=45
This one requires that you jury rig a support for the iPod since the adopter will not support the iPod

  • My iPod 5th Generation

My iPod 5th Generation will not restore on my Apple iTunes after I put it in DFU mode, I want it out of it but after all the tutorials it will not go back...
I've tried many things, and I also have the supported iTunes for my iPod... I've tried at least 13-20 times to restore my iPod for the last 2 weeks.. I don't want to resort into having to buy a new one, cause at the moment my family can't afford it.

When I put my iPod in DFU mode and connected it to my iTunes it shows up fine and stuff, but when waiting for it to restore it always comes up with the "Error" or go to the Apple website.
The error message is always the same thing, that it could not restore and contact Apple support.
The iPod indeed shows life, when I turn the screen on it shows the iTunes logo and the  charger.. -.-
I would try another computer but all my friends and family do not have their own, and plus is I do find a friend with iTunes it's most likely to be the outdated one that does not support the generation of my iPod

  • My ipod 5th generation charges when connected to my PC but not recognised in itunes with windows 8.1

Why is my ipod 5th generation not recognised in itunes in windows 8.1?Connection to my PC only charges the battery.

Did this iPod previously work with this computer (running Windows 8.1), and does not now for some reason?  Or is this the first time (or the first time with Windows 8.1)?
The fact that only the battery charging symbol appears on the iPod screen seems to indicate that the iPod does not recognize a data connection.  It's like you are connecting the iPod to USB (wall) power adapter.  It is likely that the Windows system also does not see the iPod as a connected device; you should confirm by looking at Device Manager.
You should rule out a faulty USB docking cable.  The dock connector has separate connection points for power and data, so it is possible for it to connect to charge the battery but not connect for data.  So, if possible, try another docking cable, or try the cable you have with another Apple device.
You should rule out a problem on the USB port.  If you connect something else to the same port, does it work properly?  Preferably, you should use something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive, and try copying over some large files.
If the USB port and docking cable are OK, the cause is more likely to be on the iPod (such as a dock connector that is worn out from use).

  • The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly

The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly. It has sound without the headphones in but when I plug them in it has no sound, it's low, or poppy. I had only used my apple supplied headphones once before and it worked fine. I know it's not the headphones because I tried them on my girlfriends phone and they worked fine.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
