My ipod 5th generation is not turning on. and my home button doesnt work so i cannot hold both buttons down

so my ipod is in almost perfect condition. there is no cracks or dents. its not even that old. I was on my ipod, locked it, then when back and it didn't do anything. didn't turn on or anything. iTunes isn't recognizing it. sadly my home button is crapped out. so I cannot hold down the lock button and the home button to reset it..... so what do I do????

Has the home button worked in the past, or is this been something that hasn't worked for some time? The only way to reset the device is with the sleep/wake (power) and home buttons together. Without it, you would have to wait until the battery dies and then plug it in to try and reset it. The Home button is used for several user troubleshooting steps. Without it, you cannot perform a reset, put the device into recovery mode, or place it in DFU mode. You need to get the home button repaired.

My iPod was working fine all day and then I locked it and when I came back to it, it would not turn on and it had almost a full battery. I have tried to plug it into it's charger but it still wouldn't turn on so I plugged it into the computer and that didn't seem to work either. I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation with iOS 8.1, my home button is broken and I've been using AssistiveTouch for months now. Today I just locked my iPod and it wouldn't unlock again, it doesn't respond at all, it won't turn on. It was almost fully charged, so it's not the battery. I followed the steps from this thread, but I'm still getting the "USBMuxListenerCreate: No Error" message in CMD Prompt. I bought my iPod abroad and even though I do have the warranty, I've been told at the iStore that it's not valid here, so going to the store isn't really an option. Any ideas how to solve this?

Sorry, but without a working home button it is not possible to reset or restore your device. You should visit an Authorized Appel Service Provider or Apple Store to get it serviced. Ok my Ipod touch 5th generation will not turn on, and i have tried other steps i have seen like holding down different buttons and try to restore but it will not restore and no matter how long i hold down a button it wont turn on

My ipod tocuh 5th generation battery died so i went to charge it and i would not charge so i did some reasearch and tried many steps such as hold down the buttons for a long time but nothing happened then i tried to restore it and it wont let it, it just comes up with error 1602 and ims cared i dont know what to do please HELP.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.

Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.

What do you do when your iPod touch 5th generation will not turn on, and it isn't in recovery mode?

Today, my iPod touch 5th gen wasn't turning on, but during school earlier today it was working just fine. When I got on the bus, it wouldn't turn on? I got home and I plugged it into the charger and tried to see if it would turn on that way, nope. Also, there would be no way for it to be in recovery mode, because of the fact that the home button is pushed in and wont work. I've had my iPod for 2 years, is it just old and decided to give out?

IPod 4th generation will not turn on and its brand new!

I just got my iPod touch. It is a 4th generation. I got it for Christmas of 2012. Now it wont turn on. I had left my iPod touch on the floor, my window was open, and it was very cold. I left it fully charged and I went to sleep and woke up and it wouldnt turn on. I didnt have music playing or the wifi on so that wouldnt be the cause of it not turning on. The coldness may have something to do with my iPod not turning on. It won't show up on the laptop and I'm scared the battery isnt working anymore. I am considering the thought of bringing it to the Apple Store. I dont want to get a new one cause I have a touch screen cover on my iPod. I hope someone comes up with an answer. Please help ASAP!

i was wondering what should i do cause i am scard. the light is on and the battery levels are very low to the point that i can not even see the red line. i tried the trouble shooting ideas and they did not worl along with the 5R concepts. My laptop dose not even pick it up. HELP!!!

Hello! For the past two weeks my home button hasn't been working and since I'm too lazy to go to an apple store I just started using assistive touch instead. But ever since yesterday my iPod won't turn on which I know is a normal problem with as easy fix, to restart the device, but that requires a working home button, which is something I don't have. I've tried using rubbing alcohol to fix the home button but it won't work, if anyone has any other solutions I will be forever grateful!
