My iPod can be seen but won't erase and sync with my new pc

So I've got a new pc, and have put all my music onto it but my iPod will not erase and sync, it just appears in iTunes, when I click sync it just sits there doing nothing, any help would  be appreciated.

Hey QuiteMike,
If your iPod seems to be unresponsive when communicating with iTunes, it may be best to run through the following troubleshooting assistant:
Apple - Support - iPod - iPod classic Troubleshooting Assistant
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/classic/
If all else fails, you can restore your iPod to factory settings (last step of the troubleshooting assistant):

Thanks,

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod as the articles say the iPod will also be updated.

My iTunes gave me the option to erase and sync with the library or just sync with Itunes purchases. Since I have songs from more than one source and all my music was in the library, I chose the erase and sync option. All my music was wiped off my iPod and a few recent iTunes purchases were synced onto the iPod. All my music is still in the library, but it won't sync to my iPod. Making me crazy.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID.  When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data.  If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account.  If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

  • Windows 7 computer shut down and restarted - no memory of iTunes or other files. I want to sync my iPod 4th Gen. to the computer, but it offers erase-and-sync. Now what?

In a nutshell, the family computer, a Compaq Desktop Windows 7, has been in our family since November 2010-ish. We moved last summer, and nothing happened to it. A couple of weeks ago, the desktop had a whole "recovery-restart-etc" dilemna and no it's like new - no memory of the past files. I had iTunes (7 or 9), for only me, the only iTouch 4th generation user in the house. Basically no other Apple products. Now that I want to fix the computer (restore old photos and applications, etc) as well as move my music to the desktop itself, iTunes tells me I must update my iOS 4....? (never updated the iOS thing) So I try to do so, and iTunes tells me I have to transfer my music files to the library. Fine. I try, and since the iTouch has a previous history with the previous iTunes library BEFORE the major shutdown, it tells me to erase and sync my data! I don't want to lose all my music and repay for it, and I may be smart, but I'm not at the Genius Bar, am I? So can somebody help me? Please? Thank you in advance.

    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - For other music yu will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - If you have photos synced to the iPod you will need a pair program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. They also do music
    - The connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup. The will also update the iOS on the iPod.

  • How can i get songs back after erase and sync?

How can i get songs back after pressing erase and sync by mistake?

If they are no longer stored in your iTunes library and were only on your iPod, I'm afraid you are out of luck.  Sorry.

  • Need Help, my Ipod Nano won't connect and sync with ituens

So I downloaded the most recient itunes update the other night, and now my ipod nano will not sync with itunes.  My computer when I search devies and printer shows in devies as (apple ipod USB device, and for unspecified devices Apple Moble Device USB Driver), and I have tried other ipods around the house and they will sync with my itunes with no problem.... also another thing is that if I close the itunes and try to reopen itunes with my nano is pluged in it will not open. But when I remove this particular Ipod, and try to reopen itunes ill will open.
I have tried redownloading itunes a million times, used different USBs, restored itunes to new, and restarted ipod, and have restarted the computer a million times.
Why is it that this one nano will no longer link to itunes so that I can update my music on it. Please any one begging you, I am loosing my mind a patiences. Anyone help me please, I just want to update my music on this ipod.
How can one ipod no longer sync????
    Please and thanks.

I saw in one thread related to this that you have to make sure that the process "iTunes Helper" is running when you have your iPod connected. You can see that by running Activity Monitor, select All Processes, and then look for iTunes Helper. Based on everything else you tried, there could be a physical problem with your Nano. One of the pin connections may be bad. Will it show up on another Mac's iTunes?

  • My ipod and iphone 4s will not erase or sync with my new computer.

My phone was loaded from this computer when I got it replaced because the last one was defective.  They will not load, unload, or anything.  This is frustrating because before the most recent rounds of updates and "fixes," I never had problems and knew where everything was.
It is not a problem with my library being different, because I just moved the library over from my old computer to the new when I got it using my external hard drive and literally just took iTunes and the music, books, etc over at one time.
Edit: Checking or unchecking the manual management of the library, full sync, and/or partial sync has no effect either.  When I work on trying to make them sync, the computer shows- under the "on this ipod" section- that there is nothing there, but the ipod/phone disagrees and still has everything.

You can only sync with one computer. To switch syncing computers:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
If all synced media like apps and music are already on the second computer then just backup the iPod to the second computer and restore from that backup
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • The calendar app on MacBook won't recognize and sync with IPad and Iphone after upgrading to Yosemite and Server 4.0

After upgrading to Yosemite on our mac mini (from OS X 10.9) and V4.0 to Server (from 3.2), the calendar app on MacBook won't recognize the account and won't sync with IPad and Iphone. Even after giving password over and over again. I get the following message:
    De server reageerde met
    '500'
    op de bewerking 'CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation'.
(Server responded with '500' on task 'CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation'
    Anyone idea?

update to my original post:  after searching since for the past 10 days - I did want to pass along to others with an iphone calendar sync problem the following resource:
Mac OS X: Resetting the SyncServices folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
This is the preferred solution for problems with sync with calendar and other apps between iphone and MaciOS.  This did solve the problem which developed that no items from iCal were copying to Iphone, such as new calendars I would add, but the original problem has not been fixed by this reset.

  • Why won't my iMessage sync with my new phone?

I recently upgraded phones to an iPhone 6, but iMessage from my Mac doesn't seem to want to sync with my phone.  If I send an iMessage using my Mac, it sends the message through gmail rather than using my phone number.  I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing, but I can't seem figure this one out.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
In that case you will most likely have to Contact Apple Support.
The Mac version we know use the Serial Number  as a way of confirming the Apple ID and Location are "you".
It seems likely that something about the iPhone is also used for it's registration.
If you did not "de-register" the original iPhone it may be it is rejecting the new one.
This will in effect be an Apple ID issue (although in this case it is your phone number) It is only linked to the iMessages server.
As an Account issue the "Fix" should be free.  However you may have to ask to speak to a Level 2 person as Level 1 people are very Script led and try to place all calls as "software" or "hardware" issues that charged fro after Apple Care has run out.
Remember you are also entitled to 90 days of Apple Care with a new device.

    I NEED HEEEEELP lol

The ipod touch will sync with one comptuer at a time.  Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content.
Redownload the song on your ipod.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
