No, the max resolution for video playback is generally 640x480, as stated in the specs

The first two generations of iPod (that used a standard 6-pin Firewire cable) don't work with Windows. There was a workaound through MusicMatch for the second-gen, but I have no idea if that software is still available, or even if it will install on a modern copmputer (Windows ME, 2000 and XP era).
If instead of original, you mean the first model that got labelled as "classic," with a dock connector, if you describe exactly what appears on both the iPod and the PC screen when you plug it in, somebody might be able to help you. My first recommendations would be to (1)try a different USB cable, to see if that's the problem, and then (2) try synching with a different computer, to see if your PC is the problem. If neither of those result in success, then the community here can help you to try troubleshooting the iPod itself. -
My iPod Nano 7th Generation couldn't be detected by iTunes when I plugged in. I tried resolving the issue by uninstalling the iTunes and then install it back again but yet still the same problem exist. Can you please help me to solve this issue? I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still showing 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it backed up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that memory or to get it the music back, there is approximately over 1400 songs on it?
What is the memory being used by, is it Other? If it is, that means the iPod can no longer read the music, so it has put it all in "Other".
The usual fix for this is to allow the iPod to Sync with its iTunes Library. If that doesn't work, the next option is to Restore the iPod using the Restore command in iTunes, on the Device/Summary pane.
Unless you are very (very) lucky, I suspect that you are going to have to Restore your iPod. Restoring will remove everything form the iPod and put back onto it only what it finds in your iTunes Library, which you say is currently empty.
If you have to rebuild your Library after this issue, by adding all the music back again, this is going to be hard to hear, but for the future, you may want to consider always having a backup of your library. The easiset way to back the Library up is;
if the Library is small enough, burn it to a DVD, as digital files, not a "music CD".
If your Library is too large for a DVD, buy yourself an external hard drive and copy the Library onto the drive. Remember to update the backup every so often. -
Does anybody know why my ipod touch 3rd generations screen does not show anything? The screen is all black constantly. When I try to synchronise my ipod with my iTunes library it comes up with a message saying " iTunes could not back up the ipod because a session could not be started with the ipod. Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.

You've managed to permanently damage the phone. As gdgmacguy suggests, buy a new one. Preferably from a legitimate source.
You may also want to keep in mind that it is illegal to use the Gevey SIM in pretty much every country on the planet. It may still be legal on the continent of antarctica, but that's only because penguins don't use cell phones as a rule. -
IPod Classic (7th Generation) won't reset to factory settings...
Hi, I have a Apple iPod classic 160 GB Black (7th Generation). I had tried to sync it to my MacBook Pro, which the iPod was set up with, will not show up in iTunes. I will get an error message "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored because it could not be found." Then I'll get another error message "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod " Chris' Classic 160 iPod." Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings." When I go to "About this iPod" it shows that there are no songs, movies, photos, podcasts or contacts. There are four games loaded on the iPod. But, it shows 41.5 GB used and 107 GB free.
This is what I have done up to this point:
Disconnect and reconnect your iPod to iTunes, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again. Also, I've tried other USB cords.
Restart your computer and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port is recommended. For Windows computers, refer to Identifying USB 2.0 ports on your computer for instructions.
Remove any USB devices not manufactured by Apple that you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse). Then, attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Update to the latest version of iTunes, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
How do I clear out that 41.5 GB from the iPod? What can I do to reset the factory settings on the iPod?Do the iPod disk diagnostic on your iPod, as in this excellent earlier post by tt2.
It wont fix your problem, but help us in troubleshooting.
then, Use Disk Utility->FirstAid->Repair ( may take 30 minutes )
Failing that Disk Utility -> Erase
This will reformat the iPod ( try using FAT32, instaed of HFS+) may take 4 hours. -
IPod Classic 7th Generation gets stuck (freezes).
I bought my Ipod Classic 160 7th Gen. 3-4 months back. For fist time I restored my Ipod. Everytime when I connect my Ipod to latop it gets stuck (freezes). So, everytime I required to reboot or reset it by Pressing Menu and Center button simultaneously. While connecting IPod I disconnect all other USB devices.

I've been having an issue with it where it won't sync songs' ratings from the Nano to Itunes. My Ipod is set to manually manage Music and Video. And no ratings are added to the Itunes Music library when I press sync.

I spend days, or more likely months rating my itunes library.
I was happy to get this new ipod as it would permit me to finish rating my songs, as I used to with my old ipods.
Its only about 3 weeks after buying this new ipod do i realize that it is randomly changing song ratings. It has therefore changed all the ratings i painstakingly had made. After trying many different ways to find out where the problem was coming from, I even did the drastic move of unrating all my songs, both on the ipod and itunes. Sure enough, when i plugged it back in to sync it, it was giving me new random ratings for about 40 songs, even though they had previously been totally blank.
I'm extremely surprised I can't find any information about this. This bug has killed all the work I had spent trying to organize my library, and leaves me feeling quite disgusted.

There seems to be an all around problem with this new ipod. It isn't showing the play count for songs I know i listened to, and it's adding random songs in my top 25 most played that i never listened to.
An answer would be very nice.
